Avacta is antigen and Medusa life sciences is antibody...
I posted some info a while ago about this Test and possible Medusa sales linked through Peter Whitehurst connections.
Archis Bio have a unique buffer solution (Medusa say this about their test)
Notice from the Archis website /
Our technology allows fast and convenient nucleic acid sample preparation for analysis and identification. The complete, ready to use system enables you to go from sample to amplifiable DNA or RNA in under 3 minutes.
Anyway back to avacta. No concerns for us.
Thanks Spike.
I was kind of fretting a bit but then came to my senses that ours will be the best of the rest.
Can't wait - too excited. It will open up so many things IMO, especially if it is tied in with some sort of passport.
GAZALA69...... “ Am I right in thinking that this test tells you if a) you've got Covid and also b) that you've had it?
If so, I'm wondering if our test will do the same.”
The antibody test will tell you if you have got Covid-19 at the infectious stage (according to the article posted earlier). That would be too late to prevent you from infecting other people. The Avacta test would detect Covid-19 earlier than this, hence allowing you to self isolate before you spread the disease. That is my understanding anyway... hopefully others will confirm.
I must apologise.
Forget my comments on this thread.
My prediction is that we will have the quickest, most accurate, ease of use POC antigen test in the market. Nothing will come close.
Note to self - be more patient you bad lad.
Great PR work though.
Whereas................
Thanks FF. And with credit to Tyche, Peter also seems to be a director at Arcis Biotechnology, who are based in Warrington, near Manchester. This is under Peter Lewis Whitehurst on Companies House. Same birthday.

A find that puts to bed all the speculation.
Well done foreverfalling.
Good to see that the UK is bending over backwards for a non UK company.
"In fact, Manchester Airport has already begun testing its use to analyse operators and about 800 tests are conducted each week. "Previous contacts between our group and various UK companies such as Epistem, Genedrive or Arcys Biotechnology confirmed to us the need to put such technology on the table, so that we could be eligible for funds for the development of applied Innovate-UK programmes in consortium with British groups."
"These scientists have worked in forced marches to produce a test that they estimate has a reliability of between 75% and 90%,"something incredible to use saliva as a source of information"
I wouldn't say 75% to 90% is that good, would you?
Where are they regarding a) approval b) manufacturing?
Am I right in thinking that this test tells you if a) you've got Covid and also b) that you've had it?
If so, I'm wondering if our test will do the same.
Come on Avacta, it is time to push these approval bodies to get a move on. Sick of waiting whilst others catch up.

The first results of this technology on real samples under real use conditions have attracted one of the largest European technology funds based in London (Zeus Capital), allowing the formation of the Agile Life-Sciences Company to orchestrate the validation and manufacture of the tests. Paradoxically, the tests have begun to be manufactured on British land so the hypothetical distribution in Spain would be subject to an increase in production capacity in the United Kingdom.

For those unsure about where this test comes from etc a friend showed me this a while back.
From Barcelona and it’s clear Richard Hughes was planning to distribute this test in U.K.
