GGP had a 1Billion MCap without producing any gold but many can see the potential there.
Likewise anyone saying AVCT MCap is too high need to understand that market is always forward looking at the potential of the company. One fine day we will have a RNS about the product ready for commercial use and all those who missed NCYT including me, will have same dejavu with AVCT too if you are not in. AIMHO.
Excellent post Trek. I'm in AVCT and in BPC too, which is going to go mental like GGP soon.
Buy when there is blood on the streets. Ready to add more if AVCT goes further down.
Hi OaW,
Must say I totally agree and I admire honesty on both sell and buy side.. Things were running ahead of themselves at 200p that’s why I sold out and only started buying again from £1.10.
Personal view is now is different. Previously it was all jam tomorrow as they hadn’t moved the tech forward tangibly compared to Sona. This time, however, it’s my opinion that they have really made inroads with the LFD. But they have not cleared the regulatories, yet through no fault of their own,
It’s my view that it’s become political. Al has ended up being patriotically seduced by the UK plc with the promise of orders but given their recent ‘c*ck ups’ are trying to gold plate everything by requesting over engineering. That’s what I think caused delays.
We know that is not necessary as long as certain S&S levels are reached, testing frequency will then eradicate errors. Furthermore, PCR has a 30% sample error rate! (I posted the research references earlier).
Punters are becoming frustrated because they are seeing all the colour you portrayed in you post.
It was obvious nothing new would be in the interims. The anticipation of news was the time to sell. I sold a few Friday. I didn’t want to risk selling too much but now is getting near the time to buy those back imo.
Sentiment is on its knees. The tech info we originally bought into hasn’t changed., it’s only improved and the sanctioning from LSTM will play through. The timer is running down and the market is huge plus I reckon UK plc owes us!!!
On topic given the wind ups we are getting!
I held NCYT from 60p and 99p, from memory and sold at 199 and 400p on the first visits. Missed the £5 but hey they dropped back after before starting another run.
I think Avct will be on a run of its own soon!
Usual caveats.
Trek
We haven;t backed the wrong hoarse lostinspace99 imop
We have backed the slow strong reliable sure footed measured hoarse
This isn;t a short sprint its the Mongol Derby
I don;t think we are in the wrong place regards condor, all be it they are a shower of shat to be honest but not suprised
The sp potential will come from govermment backed orders initially
production production production production
how many of the other test manufacturers are upscaling like avacta ?
you could argue that there weighting for the big reveal nyct nice numbers 3 million + with increase potential from PARTNER DEPENDING on demand
certainly even with our current production levels 5/10 million with expansion ongoing ???? sir Al knows a lot more than he can say that was very apparent listening to him
new partners being sought spoken with behind closed doors
Our production added to Nyct we are drinking in the pub together sharing a packet of crisps if we can get control of this testing, certainly not competition
it makes know sense for other companys to start playing coy now with there capabilitys
every suppliers to a man so far has spouted and shouted at every oportunity some of them suffering for it mentioning know names
and as such where is the rest of this volume coming from the moon ? NO its coming from the goverments moonshot program and its guaranteed very large public money backing
To the companies that can put a dent in the astronomical numbers just in Britain they are talking 120 million
a month let that sink in some more
sir ALs honest admissions regarding perceived delays, were the cream on my cake
its not easy to do what avacta are trying to on the scales being mentioned, with the odd perceived blip hear and there
but i for one am very forgiving of a man with sir ALs performance thus far, hes going to make my life very comfortable imop
We have been backed in the condor program, if you cant see what that means theres frankly know hope for you and your investing strategy
once you got Goverment approval of the slow and ponderous but methodical safe and dare i say some of the best in the world in what ever we do British
We might start slow but we tend to come on strong
This rubber stamp carrys great weight
Yes there are are plenty of other tests out there and they will be snapped up in huge numbers, they have to be to keep us from Dropping of a cliff of death in the economys of the world, and more importantly the deaths in people globaly
i go back to my previous post regarding sir AL 40 mins in ish
Once we have the 10k intial test strips from BBI sir Al will have a very good idea of too market delivery
he was trying to tell Us this will be the point when the goverment will start to show there hand with orders imop
If as we suspect are tests is as good as we think, then they are going to be all over us
We are possibly closer to this than some people realise imop
As always sorry for the Dys if you managed to get through my musi
Hi captain im not in this for nothing. .....4 ......up for grabs would be worth millions
No boats missed. Billions of tests needed globally. Regarding the piecemeal 120m/6months contract for countries in the developing world... There are two suppliers in this contract, suggesting that future iterations of it are unlikely to be exclusive to specific suppliers. Would be great to see the Avacta test not just helping the UK.
The competition here is not for the market, but a competition to secure existing manufacturing supply of the LFTs. This is where the quality of the Affimers will be so important. It sounds like we’re on our way to sewing up the bulk of existing supply in the UK, and helping partners to grow that. Pleased also to hear Big Al say yesterday they were talking to and doing DD on multiple large manufacturers, specifically in SE Asia, manufacturing hub of the world.
The arrival of a vaccine does not kill the requirement for testing until it is fully rolled out and proven to work.
Chengdo4 - couldn't agree more. If you're an online influencer who's trying to pump the price back up every time there's a bit of red you have to ask the question why. Suggests a very nervous holder tbh or someone that's trying to offload to the large following!!!
Agree especially after NCYTs two RNS this morning which has seen their SP rocket to nearly £6 (I'm not in that btw). I also think that involving Boo's Medusa could have a part in delaying the CE. BOO have not had the best of press recently and I just hope that having them involved isn't having a Black Ball effect.
Abbott & Roche tests cannot be used without a medical professional. Certification for home(consumer) use is much more strict and takes much longer . Long term, I think, its the correct strategy. I think the reason Novacyt have their contract is to fill a gap, could be wrong but it kind of ties up with the time scales.
The long term value in AVACTA is the key thing here. They are not just a one trick pony and not only produce to sell, they also license. The AVA6000, if human trials go well, will be a show stopper.
Its a waiting game, and whilst frustrating, you have to have confidence in the company that you bought into....or play the short game and buy Novacyt shares. Nova's value will decrease considerably when something better is available..
A viable, scaleable vaccine being produced is when the boat is officially 'missed'.
Even watching Trump bang on about the Abbott test yesterday, they still only have 150m of them. My first thought was 'Ok, and what about next week?'. The sheer scale of global testing that is required is staggering, and there's plenty of room for multiple players.
That being said, I think AVCT were either (best case) naive or (worst case) deliberately misleading when they gave some of those time scales earlier in the summer. This has led to a significant rumbling of disgruntlement that we've now got to October with no product when others (like NCYT) are announcing hundreds of millions of pounds in Government contracts for their ready-to-market products.
The reason I have held my position in this share is because I believe they will bring a game changing LFT to market and the money generated will be limited simply by their manufacturing capacity - but moreover they will play a significant part in bringing the UK (and quite possibly the world) back to some degree of normality.
BUT - I'm able to do this because I know they have their cancer treatments as a catch-all should this LFT go up in smoke. Being older I'm somewhat more risk averse than I was in my younger days and I know the chances of me losing money here are incredibly slim - it's just a couple of years for the return if I have to wait for the chemo/cancer returns vs a shorter term return on the LFT. This is why I came out of ODX after trebling my money - there's little to fall back on over there. At least here there's a very comfy looking safety net under us.
So personally I'm not concerned with missing the boat, as I know there are plenty of other boats coming along eventually - and I'm fortunate that I'm not in any rush to get off the beach.
Lostinspace69 asks:
“ Is the problem here that we backed the wrong horse with CONDOR? If it's a technical hurdle that's the issue, then how come Abbott and Roche and others have managed to leapfrog Avacta and successfully launch their rapid Antigen tests?”
Am I right to understand AVCT had to work through/with Condor because our LFD will be used in the home with no professional/clinical input prior to the result being known and accepted outside the home?
Having been called a “snake in the grass” and more from our resident angry little man (Hi DOH) over the last few days and weeks for posting genuinely held concerns, I have to say I’m as confident as ever in this stock after yesterday’s presentation.
Yesterday gave all the answers I needed, short term SP fluctuations are irrelevant unless looking to trade (I’m not) - pretty clear where this is going in the medium to long term IMO.
Said this months ago, aside from the most innovative and cost-effective solution in the market, AVCT's design is still just that, a design! NCYT in retrospect, (in which i'm still not invested), is monetising and making the most of this situation!
AVCT is taking way too long whether it be the third party or themselves.. In this market as volatile as it is in the pharma sector.. too long!
lostinspace69, you got it in one! "Where's Wetherby?", said Mr Gates.
Dr David Novarro (WHO) on R4 Today (8:54 on 29/9/20), saying we need Billions of LFT devices.
120M is not enough.
As I said every test will be needed.
All covid test assay products will be needed!
It's all about test, test, test now. It always was and always will be!
Mortgage, are you saying that you went ‘2 feet’ in on a share, purely based on people’s opinions on a BB?
Idiot
I thought, from postings from so called experts here, anti body tests were supposed to be redundant by the Avacta tests by the summer. Thats why I went in 2 feet here and didnt invest in NCYT. Lesson learned, there's some sheet posted here the same people that shout everyone else down.
At least Q4 is days away, will be putting pressure on Sir Al to deliver.
Is the problem here that we backed the wrong horse with CONDOR? If it's a technical hurdle that's the issue, then how come Abbott and Roche and others have managed to leapfrog Avacta and successfully launch their rapid Antigen tests? Roche are launching with 40m tests a month and scaling up to meet demand. I am sure Abbott and Roche also encountered technical challenges, but it seems they managed to overcome theirs, faster than we have. Perhaps the issue here is one of size? Is it the case that Avacta are too small to really take advantage of this opportunity and are being muscled out by the big boys? I ask all these questions only because I hold a significant stake in Avacta and I believe it's healthy to debate, rather than sugar coat every post with what people want to hear.
James Wilson Marshall was the first to discover gold in California in the 1840's. The first mover in a place where many people became rich. Being the first though you would have thought he made the most. Well not exactly, for those who know the story will know who made the most. History teaches us all, but only if we are prepared to listen.
Cristalball, no doubt our sensitivity band specificity levels will be very high from what Dress was saying. Skin mentioned Femtogram per ml performance in their presentation (astonishing). Dr AS did not go down to this level. However, if Skin are correct then we have something special here with our affirmers!
Test, test, test
I think your time scale is correct. Even if we are lucky enough to get rid of COVID (which is unlikely) the world is set for testing for other ailments for the next generation. Very sad, but this is now the world we live in
CB, suggest you pop over to Wetherby and let all the staff know, they’ll be delighted by your feedback. You know, the ones Sir Al had said that have been working tirelessly in extremely difficult circumstances to get to the point that only one technical hurdle remains - incidentally, one that is out of their hands.
The frustration, as TP and Sir Al have said, is that Condor is hopelessly slow. BAMS should have been launched months ago.
Lol stay calm. A quick easy to use to use Lateral flow is the test will go global
Massive potential
Hold
Cristallball - come on now, don’t start this rubbish again. Avct have failed to capitalise on nothing, the world wasn’t exactly ready for COViD was it, no blueprints for this whole scenario. Where are the other 1000 companies making LFT antigen test if that is the case? Simply the non Avct components are taking longer. Delays yes....Avct related....no!
Not sure what pandemic everyone else is living through, but pretty sure this thing isn't going to be over for several years - which would make 'missing the boat' pretty difficult...
