So what is the story with the Sovereign test. Is there another test aside from the avacta AN LFT that the government could be waiting for?
I assume its not MOLOGIC who have had a test ready for months that could have been procured/produced. The avacta AN LFT has been in validation long enough now that the DHSC would know whether it is a goer or not, so the fact UK GOV have still not taken action speaks huge volumes.
All Covid stocks down today.
I’m hoping AS will surprise us when it comes to manufacturing capacity outside UK.
He’s had plenty of time to sort it!
Painful reading 6th August 2020 rns but such is life!
The 'delay' with the CV and the 'delay' with the Gov test is more than coincidence. As others have said, why are ODX and GAD not yet producing 24/7? The Gov are trying to ramp up to 2 tests per day per person, so time is critical! For me, reading between the lines, this is hugely positive for AVCT.
Re the 'delay' I would not consider it a delay. During Feb, AS stated 'towards the end of the quarter' and during the VOX interview a few weeks back, he indicated that there could be a delay vs original timeline due to the reduced cases in the UK. If AS had stated there would definitely be a delay vs end of quarter due to the reduced cases he would have crashed the share price, so he only touched on the potential for a delay.
We are very close now.
I think the several million per month AS spoke about in the interview is capacity for sales outside of anything to do with the Govt.
You have to think the volumes the Govt want to produce on, they have been putting serious scale in place, but that isn't AS's area to comment on. He wont be able to comment on anything govt related - most of all because we don't even know yet if Avct are the sovereign test.
Maybe the gov want the test to pick up the south african variant. It's a shame AS won't tell us until after the event and we have to keep guessing what's taking so long.
Anyway, let’s get it CV’d & CE’d & let AS worry about demand & capacity. Quite sure he hasn’t been sat there thinking I hope the test works & if so, I’ll look at capacity later on. Can’t see it personally.
They’re in bed with Mologic, GAD, BBI, ODX (possibly), Medusa & that’s what we know at the moment. These companies combined are capable of making 10’s of millions of tests per month.
Currently it seems unlikely that AVCT has the combined Mfrg capacity to achieve more than several million tests per month, as AS recently stated. That won’t knock Innova off top step, irrespective of its known limitations. Just need to manage expectations.
Given that Umar and his brother were born in Manchester and their grandfather came here from Kenya I can add that to the list of stupid things you have said today JDT.
Well lucky Avacta have a tie up with Medusa - set up by Indian born billionaire Boohoo Founder Kamani. Imagine he's got fingers in a few pies over there.
‘A tsunami of cases’: desperation as Covid second wave batters India.
Facing delays in the delivery of rapid testing kits from China, the Narendra Modi government has now cleared made-in-India kits, alongside those from other countries like South Korea, Germany and France.
Hey, can imagine a massive bun fight amongst the governments of the world all trying to source Avacta tests. Now wouldn’t that be nice!
The Good Law Project. Its an interesting one.
This guy is a genious. He chooses a cause celebre, set up a go fund me page to fight said good cause on behalf of the generous donators to the page, who haven’t worked out all he is doing is paying himself a very hansome rate for spearheading the battle.
Isn't that the n*head who tried to stop brexit and murdered a fox in his back garden ? Don't think I'll bother 5hanks.
Well we know the last Innova contract award published 9th Apr had a conclusion date of 13Mar.
£1bn @ £5 per test = 200m tests
Come in boxes of 7's so 28.5m boxes.
Not going to take long for that stock to be depleted now the test twice a week push is happening.
Wonder if this final Innova award was a test for demand/uptake before rolling out the sovereign test which from the docs I have seen somewhere 19th Apr is a key date in the next step of Govt LFT rollout.
I'm with you, something really doesn't stack up here anymore. Shame we no longer have good investigative journalism to digg into stories like this.
Big demand for tests doesn’t mean an abundant supply of positive samples.
We don’t know what the delay is, it’s only assumed. Time will tell. But we’re not likely to find out. And to be honest, I’m not that fussed.
Seeing the data presented as an entree to a sovereign test declaration will help me forget the limbo.
Just seems bizarre that Avacta 'apparently' have this brilliant test. But 'allegedly' have been delayed getting it validated due to lack of positive tests. Then pharmacists have to ration tests because of big demand.
Totally agree.
Nothing at all to suggest anything other than finishing validation and nothing remotely to suggest it won’t be as good as the initial validation which would make it world class - especially given the sample collection method.
I also agree, it’s obviously the manufacturers are waiting to be told which test to produce (in fact, not just obvious but announced by ODX) seems a near certainty to me that’s because Avacta’s results are so close and expected to be best in class.
Any day now Avacta will announce results of CV and CE mark and I believe (very substantial) contracts will follow very soon afterwards. It’s also not inconceivable that results and orders could be announced on the same day and I can’t wait to see the gap up on open if that does happen - it could be measured in pounds!
Supplies of Chinese crap running low?

Totally agree with you Radiagreen. Also think it will end up bigger and better and extremely well represented globally.
Exactly:

What are they waiting for?
One possible option - https://avacta.com/diagnostics/
This.
Still no final Avacta cv.
Anyone still in doubt that the 2 are linked?
If the avacta LFT was performing badly (worse than forecast) ODX and GAD would be ramping up their production of the UK SOV TEST.
As far as I can see. Gad and ODX are still patiently waiting for their orders....
I have no doubt avacta is still likely to be the sov test, which means cv is going to plan which means the world is still there for the taking.
