Can you get a mortgage on a rented bedsit?......
Is he a man with no mortgage?
One has spent 15 years developing a WORLD CLASS tech to help the whole world beat a Pandemic and help in the fight against Cancer The other a bitter %ickhead who posts the same old tosh about his love for Al every morning.....
The 2020 CLOWN award goes to?.......I'll let the masses decide......;-)
Spot on afamaman.
DM article taken from Sun, sun uses lots of info about several tests and presents as a single test.
Read between the lines as you say, q&a plus clear interest from gov on this next test = electric Monday
Sleepdave is eight about being wary of newpaper articles getting confused. This daily mail one is simply derived from another one by the sun as it admits. If tou read the sun one really carefully it talks about what could very well be the avacta lfd likely coming out before christmas which would imply that we are on course for a tech transfer rns between now and end of november. It refers to several tests that have started to be trialled at de montfort etc. but its clear if you read carefully that none are avacta lfd.
Reading the q and a it seems Sir Al is very matter of fact about tech transfer, batch manufacture and quality of test for validation purposes. That reaffirms the earlier rns that the issue here is simply going to be scaling up manufacture as much as possible. That's obviously vital not just for scaling profits but denting the r rate on a global rather than simply national level.
‘ Okehurst I think you need to go back to school mate. It’s doesn’t say you need a professional or kit at all. Try reading it slowly next time...
This is Avacta for sure!’
Updated yesterday by the Government
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/assessment-and-procurement-of-coronavirus-covid-19-tests/lateral-flow-devices-results
It’s not Avacta, there are only 3no tests past stage 3 assessment.
It’s possibly Innova who have just been awarded a £130M plus contract, the Government won’t award a contract until the test provider completes stage 3 successfully.
All 3 tests require medical supervision, 2 are Swob , 1 saliva but this is linked to the Abbott test - which we have discussed in this Board
None of the above are competitors to Avacta once we get the LFT to stage 3
For ref to help your research, there are only 15 tests left on the assessment programme from 172 that appear to have started the process, via another Government web site updated yesterday
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/assessment-and-procurement-of-coronavirus-covid-19-tests/protocol-for-evaluation-of-rapid-diagnostic-assays-for-specific-sars-cov-2-antigens-lateral-flow-devices
So let’s get this straight some folks here are saying Sir Al cannot disclose anything because there is a NDA and he cannot confirm the NDA because there is a NDA on the NDA lol...... yep sounds like a straight talking Yorkshireman!
Just get on with it and stop the playing the clown Sir Al! lol
Certainly sounds as though it is the Avacta test.
The article also states “ The rapid saliva tests have been used on students at De Montford and Durham universities as well as on children at three schools in the south of England”

This is Avacta for sure!
Great Q & A wasn't it.
Avct couldn't do more to communicate to its shareholders the width and breadth of our fantastic opportunities.
Their will be many many newspaper articles over the next few weeks.
Attempts to forensically disect them are meaningless.
The Q & A is available now to all journos who will no doubt be putting their own spin on it while in some cases confusing our tests with other tests and mixing and matching (and all the while not mentioning our company by name for reasons we know).
The corollary of this is of course that companies whos names re testing are plastered all over the media likely don't have NDA's with the government. They have already "arrived". As the government keeps emphasising the "Holy Grail" is nearly there.
Its all good because as far as antigen testing anticipation goes it will help to increase this to fever pitch.
In the meantime good luck to the other antigenees who are cashing in to a more limited extent.
The Q & A makes it all the easier to excercise serene patience.
Bashers and the uneducated followers of other testers who consider us a threat and want to do us down become irrelevent (though I suppose there will remain the debate on whether it or not its good fun to over engage with them on here to the irritation of fellow holders)
Live and let live I say.
When the Chat Board gets too silly I can always go and talk to real people.
Anyway enough of my ramblings. Sleepy Covid Register update can wait for another week!
I know it’s early, but can’t see where it says a professional and kit is required.
Okehurst, I wouldn’t call giving the test to ‘untrained teens’ needing a professional.
That was meant to read “both Novacyt and Avacta!
Back in April, I looked at both and Avacta and decided to invest in Avacta!! This was a painful read......https://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/markets/article-8873579/MARKET-REPORT-Novacyt-turned-10-000-nearly-1m.html
Alistair confirmed in the Q & A , Q:31 they are not disclosing a price
So if this is our test it's typical mail/sun reporting
‘No professional or kit required, £5 doesn’t sound too expensive to me’
No your wrong , requires a professional to administer plus kit to process the result, do your research .
No professional or kit required, £5 doesn’t sound too expensive to me.
Problem is you still require a medical professional to administer plus a piece of kit to process the result.
It’s going to be expensive overall.
There’s nothing to say that the Avacta test hasn’t been modified ( to include a swab) to make it easier to manufacture or to achieve optimum accuracy. We can all guess, but will only know for sure when informed via RNS.
