You know whenyou start a thread do you wish you hadn't bothered my point and I think it's good because aviation is my passion I also love English and sentences and paragraphs and things .... Axe you failed at English I guess?
Thankyou, Ginge. End of discussion.
There is no concern.
Validating against a specific variant is utterly pointless as the next variant will become dominant by the time it’s done.
What matters is the overall design is of a broad specificity and is unlikely to be affected by mutation. That coupled to the ability to rapidly modify should a new variant start to evade detection makes for a good test.
One just like AffiDX for that matter.
So yesterday there 875000 lateral flow tests conducted in England.
With no concerns expressed anywhere that they were not detecting Delta, not even by Deeks who is just concerned that they are not good enough full stop.
Axe if your behaviour is unacceptable then it needs to be reported as homophobic bullying is not a joke.
So the Innova test picks up the Delta variant. This is the test approved by the UK Government following validation at PD (all highly suspect but there you have it). We are all told that the AVCT is highly superior to this but the fact remains that it hasn't been approved by the UK Government nor did it pass PD so there are question marks over it that won't go away. If it was so easy to confirm that the AVCT test could pick up the Delta variant then AS missed a massive opportunity today to reassure the market and potential buyers.
It says LFT plural.
I have been looking all day for any concern shown anywhere about whether LFTs detect Delta.
I think you lot are getting mixed up with vaccine efficacy
LOl - The Innova test picking up a significant proportion of the the Indian Variant in schools (do we need AVACTA then? Wow what a post) - please copy and paste that crock of crap stat. The Innova test only picking up 40% to 50% of normal variants we are used to let alone Indian variant, it is an utter s**t show the Innova test (thought I would say it twice as Fun-time-swinger loves to read it several times in my posts. Joke poster this guy!
What test do they use in Wales......not convinced that Innova is proven to pick it up!
Agree, you can do one re Indian variant, if AS is confident that it will detect then I am
The only reason for the drop is Conifer and PI expecting a 100%+ RNS but ‘only’ getting a distribution deal instead, nothing more nothing less
If you want reassurance from the board to protect the share price: ask yourself how can you not RNS cytiva, saliva to AN, porton down and now BBI
Reported you Axe for your disgusting homophobia
99% of the cases in the UK are Delta and every day a significant proportion of them are being detected by the Innova tests used in schools etc
There are no concerns anywhere that current LFTs don't detect Delta as they do other mutations.
You guys are just inventing a problem where there isn't one.
Go for it axe,
Do one more post and repeat yourself 15 times again…
Try mentioning if it picks up the Indian variant? That’ll be new champ.
Thumbs up emoji
"Also Avacta does not need samples from PHE to confirm it detects Delta variant.
They did not need them when they confirmed that it detects Kent and SA variants.
Once you have the genome of the mutations you can do the analysis in the lab."
If that's the case they need to get on and do it. Simply unprofessional and shows commercial naivety not to have done so already.
Sorry is it validated then did I miss that bit or was it a statement that was communicated "it should" be Ok"? and I have not said it will not pick up the variant, in fact the complete opposite I hope. The point you are incapable of getting is that until AVACTA states it actually does 100% pick it up it going no where - simples. I have also not stated anywhere that they need more clinically signed off trials (can you read). But where you are wrong is it DOES need to be clinically validated (obviously) that it picks the variant up to the same levels as previous trial data. Thus it was stated on the seminar they are awaiting samples for this to be confirmed. Jeez you really know how to post utter s**T! Otherwise he would have said "100% confirmed picks up Indian variant and no need to bother with testing to see if it does" Get a grip!
He said he was highly confidant on the delta variant being detected...
Just finished listening to the presentation all sounds good to me but I'm invested longterm so i can understand day traders jumping ships..
Can you provide a single piece of evidence that shows concerns that lfts don't detect the Delta variant?
Ass bandit, lovely homophobic slur.
Why not through some racism in at the same time?
Also Avacta does not need samples from PHE to confirm it detects Delta variant.
They did not need them when they confirmed that it detects Kent and SA variants.
Once you have the genome of the mutations you can do the analysis in the lab.
I'm with Axe on this one. No matter the likelihood that our test detects the Delta variant, no sane person in procurement is going to hit the buy button until the company CONFIRMS that it does. Simples really.
See the Q&A here from the Welsh public health about LFYs and Delta
https://phw.nhs.wales/topics/latest-information-on-novel-coronavirus-covid-19/information-for-the-public/faqs-the-delta-voc-21apr-02-coronavirus-variant/
It does not need to be clinically validated again.
There are other ways to do the analysis as was the case with the Kent variant.
Axe
The Delta variant has mutations in the spike.
As AS has stated
"Since the Affimer reagents we use in Avacta's range of SARS-CoV-2 tests do not bind in the region of the spike protein where the dominant mutations appear, we do not anticipate that the performance of the tests will be affected."
Why are you incapable of understanding this. Or do you have some other motives for keep repeating this nonsense?
We've got more than hope POD. We have expectation.
Listen again to the closing remarks of AS.
We have one of if not the the biggest diagnostic sales opportunity "that will ever come along".
The next 6 months will be full of really key milestones and significant news flow and he is "really looking forward to it".
So much to mull over which has already been covered on the board today (btw a really good board today).
One thing that intrigues me is the programme in respect of self use authorization which we are getting our teeth into along with Medusa. Subject to the further validations going well (and us complying with the new legislation) we will no doubt (when our promised accreditation comes through) be able to CE mark them ourselves for consumer use. What I am not entirely clear about but I assume this is the case is that the MHRA presumably at that stage just rubber stamps it.
Hopefully in the meantime we will have been granted EUA to keep the pot boiling.
Its not superior is it? No confirmation on the Indian variant as yet! That is now the only thing that gives it superior test status along with all other accepted validated variants. No one is going to place the orders with AVACTA you guys are talking about unless they can confirm it picks up the Indian variant. As stated previously AVACTA will have to push out other manufacturers that already selling into market, they will now only be able to do this with the Indian variant confirmation as that is the one that is now on every bodies lips. No one is going to cancel orders already in place to go with AVACTA unless this information is produced - too much money already invested in others and only way to remove that investment if you are getting something they not giving you, and that will be something that covers all bases. When they do, then I agree this will sell in large quantities and quickly, until then nada of any note. That is the reality. It was the Gold standard when Indian variant not known about, upon validation of AVACTA LFT it has crossed with Indian variant being now dominant, and this must be added to its validation for it to go anywhere in the market with large sales. The worrying thing for me was that they have not even got any samples they are testing and this is a concern as how long do we now have to wait for this validation. It going nowhere until this happens. Forget Gold Standard anything until this happens. That is the reality. First question will be "Does it pick up Indian variant" - Not as yet - well come back when it does thanks.
Just caught up on this thread as I started it
It will be the CAA who ultimately decide which test is used they WILL want the best, me I've been saying for months about airport testing while others were screaming mass testing will take us to £10 and beyond
