Under deaily change, set the country to 'worldwide' and the graph to 'new cases.'
Also bear in mind that testing capacity is incredibly limited in some countries as per the NY Times article I posted a few days ago. The article said many deaths and grave diggers in Nigeria worlng flat out, but statistically the country only has about 300 new cases per day - because there's hardly any testing done.
I have a good feeling about this and odx this week !
With work ongoing to plan I also wouldn’t be surprised if the next update was a more general business update covering development/trial status of each test, expressions of interest for orders and ongoing partnership discussions. I still think June will be the making of Avacta
PL75 - I hope we get BAMS and other partners before LFD. It would move the share price up nicely in readiness of 'the big one.'
As we've seen already though, expect the unexpected. Can't wait for some more 'Sir Al Bombs'...
Next item up on the recent webinar slide of ‘Anticipated News flow 2020-21’, after news of shipping Affimers to partners was:
“Prototype Affimer covid-19 test performance.”
So this suggests we won’t hear anything official until post-test development, after an initial performance trial. We just need patience. The technical news flow was rapid while the development was ongoing in-house at Avacta, but in my opinion it may have just slowed down because now development has moved over to their partners, Avacta can’t give further details without partners’ consent. And the partners may have a more cautious, major milestone-based approach to news releases.
That said, we did get the little Brucy bonus of the Medusa19 partnership announcement out of sequence. So agree other partnerships could also be next. But not if those partners are waiting for the prototype test performance before going public.
Patience. The news doesn’t need to come immediately.
I’d agree, I’m expecting news relating to BAMS before the LFD, partnership news could drop any time though and having an LFD prototype was next on the substantial newsflow list. Knowing how Sir Al likes to drop bombs, who knows, they might chuck all three in the mother of all RNSs.
In addition I am sure that Avacta indicated that the Adeptrix news would come first (did I dream that!?!) and so I am not sure we are waiting for Cytvia at the moment. They were also looking to partner on the treatment and signing a partnering agreement could be next so I think Cytvia will either be the second or third of the RNSs due.
PL75, it's a fair point you make. The previous two RNS were massive for Avacta but a drop in the ocean for Cytiva who have many irons in the fire. Once it is working, that becomes a different matter though!
PL75,
Ok, now you have a point indeed.
The RNS announcing the partnership was released at 7am, the last update on progress was released at 7am, why would the next one be different?
The next bit of news will be the most significant for both parties. Let’s wait & see.
PL75,
I think I am inclined to agree with hants here. Is Cytiva a provider of a service to AVCT or a partner? If the later, which I believe it is, the RNS should be coordinated, right?
ST
PL75, there's a time difference between the UK and the USA.
News of a working ten minute COVID-19 test will be massive for both firms. I can't see one releasing news before the other.
Why? The previous announcements weren’t. I’m expecting an RNS at 7am.
Pleased to know I'm not the only one who thinks this, Zoom.
Reading these boards, there's clearly a strong belief that if the RNS doesn't land at 7am, we won't see anything that day. I disagree with this entirely where the Cytiva partnership is concerned.
I predict there will be a lot of people caught with their pants round their ankles when an RNS lands one afternoon.
Totally agree. Any news relating to Cytiva will almost certainly be in the afternoon. I should imagine it’s a fairly big deal for the too.
Fairly unsurprising drop today. Just as there will have been many who thought an RNS was nailed on for Friday, many others will have thought it was nailed on for this morning it held on to see if it arrived.
The expectation of near term news on the lateral flow test and the failure of it to arrive is certainly making many of us become impatient. That includes me! I have no intention of selling, though. I strongly believe that the news will arrive and it will be impressive when it does.
No doubt all those who have sold out will be piling back in as soon as an RNS lands.
I've said before I don't necesarrily believe the next Cytiva related RNS will land at 7am because they're based in the USA. I would expect to see a morning release by Cytiva with a simultaneous release by Avacta which would be lunch time here.
Seriously you are joking.
I've got a thought but no way am I saying anything until I've looked down the back of the sofa. I believe in my own brilliance except when it comes to flying aeroplanes and cooking.
However, thanks for tip. Interesting company - bit mixed up but value there. I'll put a bottle to one side for you.
RD <----- waits for accusation of subtle ramping.
Ummm... yeah. That was me. I’m not in yet, if you become a billionaire you owe me at least a tenner of it
On the TILS board (whoever that was thank you for tip) (praying to baby Jesus it wasn't PL75) Belly the Jolliphant called me a serial Devils Advocate.
To be fair to him though .....
I know.

You missed out last line...
Incliding " after trying really very hard the company realised they couldn't get any of it to work."
Contiuning on from my very long post...where I ran out of characters...
Possible news which could land at any time:
- Update on Cytiva and their rapid test development
- Other partner(s) relating to a rapid test
- Update on BAMS test development
- Partner(s) for Affimers as neutralising therapy
- Other distribution parter(s)
Futhermore, news on any of the above could also lead to increased media attention.
