Livrnlearn...they can't give anything away regarding a Govt contract is what I was getting at.
As soon as the menus arrived here this evening, I immediately went for pen and paper.
Having previously put in place the utensils required for the manufacture of the meal, I then set about producing it.
Sounds like the RNS and previous RNSs to me.
Onwards Avacta.
Obviously I can’t reveal more at this stage. However, the aubergines will be aggressively grilled by Gilles, for old times’ sake.
Bella, 'it says it all, but gives nothing away' Absolutely!
Never fails to make me smile.....and sigh at the same time
Sounds like the demand would outstrip supply for that CO. Did it achieve 100% succulence and 99% spiciness with a curry temperature (ct) less than 31? When you say coming hours, when exactly will that be and what do you mean by the word immediately?
I immediately recall the the Avacta statement, Avacta aims to become the leading provider of next generation IVD tests STARTING with AffiDX Sars Cov2 Antigen LFT. Think ahead, 5 10 30 million tests a month is chicken feed to the vast range of infectious diseases we can dip our little magic Affimer into. Mind blowing.
I’m going to cook an aubergine curry, shortly. I am very excited at the prospect of this high quality meal, and of the interest I have received for it from my wife. I am looking forward to receiving confirmation that it is cooked according to regulation (not too spicy) in the coming hours, allowing me to immediately place it in my belly.
But what time exactly will it be ready?
And will there be chapattis on the side, and/or rice?
Will it be too spicy for the Authority?
So much to discuss.
LivenLearn...'immediately place the test on the market'...a cleaver use of wording IMO...It says it all, but gives nothing away.
Do you remember this from 8 Feb 2021:
'Global Access Diagnostics, which currently has 70 employees but is planning to hire another 210 by April, is a high-volume manufacturing enterprise in Bedfordshire, which spun out from the diagnostics firm Mologic last year. It has received close to £1m in funding from the UK government and about £10m in equipment, according to Mark Radford, the company’s executive director.Â
It aims to expand its annual production of lateral flow tests from 40m to 250m by early May.'
Timing, timing, timing....

I’m having mock Turtle soup as per recipe below
Take a large calf's head. Scald off the hair. Boil it until the horn is tender, then cut it into slices about the size of your finger, with as little lean as possible. Have ready three pints of good mutton or veal broth, put in it half a pint of Madeira wine, half a teaspoonful of thyme, pepper, a large onion, and the peel of a lemon chop't very small. A ¼ of a pint of oysters chop't very small, and their liquor; a little salt, the juice of two large onions, some sweet herbs, and the brains chop't. Stand all these together for about an hour, and send it up to the table with the forcemeat balls made small and the yolks of hard eggs.
I'm putting my chicken in the oven shortly I'm gonna eat it in August
I have immediately put the chicken in the oven not in a hour but immediately .
What has this board become? A debate over what immediately putting something on the market means... deary me. What’s everyone having for tea tonight? Great answers last night btw...
"immediately place the test on the market" will merely mean that it will officially be offered for sale, a click of a button, an RNS perhaps.......but doubtful an instant order (or several)
'immediately manufacture'... Didn't know they'd hired the Great Soprendo. Piff Paff Poof!
GAD are planning on getting to 250m a year.
@martnotsosmart
That 40mil/year was GAD/Mologic original plan for the new factory. Since, then the govt have provided a lot of machinery, so I expect you could now double or treble GAD's capacity.
Of course, the available 'immediately' manufacturing capacity increases significantly if Avacta are chosen as the sovereign test.
At least that fits with the GAD/Mologic quoted manufacturing capacity which was to produce up to 40 million tests per year ie just over 3 million a month.
What do we want?
Millions of orders
When do we want it?
Fairly shortly, during the summer
Is it us?
AS: "Within the UK, we expect to be able to access…, fairly shortly, during the summer, around 5m tests per calander month"
Assuming the 5m is the sum of GAD, Abby & BBI, it depends how you apportion that figure between them.
We know Abby were gearing up to 3mil/week by the end of 2021, so lets say conservatively they're capable of 1mil/week right now. We know they have deals to produce LFT's for 3 customers (including Avacta), so let's assume they've committed one third to each customer. So, Abby will produce approx 1.5mil/month for Avacta "fairly shortly, during the summer".
Wild guess, but let's say BBI can do 1mil/month "fairly shortly, during the summer", since they're a bit smaller than Abby.
That leaves 2.5mil/month coming from GAD, which should be available shortly after immediately.
Ok, there's a speculative / uneducated estimate for you...2.5mil
Well we've already been told they have produced commercial batches, I'd say that would be more than 100 and less than 1 million (but of course I have no idea)
How many tests do you reckon GAD can immediately manufacture for Avacta?
Scardey . . . good shout re open/close SB's. Thanks. I just topped up.
Spot on !
Lots of decent folks still left here, but most have disappeared because of this bunch. Got to say, it is tiring. Time to logout and add value when I happen across any.
Ray, does it not feel like you are wasting your life spending so much time concerning yourself with a share you are not invested in?
Are you a disappointment to your parents?
Speaking of people with the maturity and intelligence of a ten year old... everyone needs to have aspirations. You’ll get there one day Ray.
