just be *buying* AVCT
@AgentB, apparently now DSMA-notice (shows my age) - "is an official request to news editors not to publish or broadcast items on specified subjects for reasons of national security".
Of course, as someone suggested earlier, journo's could just be AVCT!

Not a fan of the NDA conspiracy. It’s just not that much of a story, govt says they’re planning on using pregnancy style tests that aren’t validated yet and here’s a company that’s in that process. It’s not exactly a huge expose. The govt will reference Awacta when it’s ready to go and the papers will report it then.
Agent, government clamp on press to not talk about specific topics.
@LongLive what is a D notice?
Sp is moving in the right direction and that speaks volumes!
@M.McNulty, that would imply either a 'D-notice' in place or a significant failure of investigative journalism?
Perhaps a bit too conspiratorial?

How would that sit with Medusa19 if the govt have the first 6 months production and are just handing them out to the public???
Myles - Any thoughts on our silence about US operations and application to FDA etc?
Do you feel we will focus first on the UK or that Cytiva under their name will license and handle the regulatory matters? The original partnership RNS seems to indicate they would also handle validation etc.
Surely, after the Boris media conference yesterday, where he described LFT Pregnancy style tests, the UK media should be searching to shine a spotlight on the key technology and manufacturers racing to produce the tests. It is not that they have not mentioned AVCT, they have not mentioned any supplier at all related to the LFT pregnancy style tests
There is undoubtedly an attempt to silence the media. Elsewise it is incomprehensible that no major media outlet has yet identified Avacta as the leading contender (globally) to produce a first-in-class COVID-19 lateral flow test.
I would suggest the reason for this is that other governments across the world would snap up Avacta - or its entire supply of stock - in a heartbeat. We saw Trump do exactly that with Abbott's nasal-swab LFT ($750m order, for the first ~3 months of Abbott's entire manufacturing capacity).
People should be realising that the LFT as a class of test is now being put on a comparable level to that of vaccines. Governments are securing the produce of domestic companies precisely for domestic consumption.
It is not TOO far off calling it a measure of national security.
Hence the attempted media blackout. My belief is that the UK Gov has already secured the future output of all UK-based manufacturing of AVCT's LFT, at least for the first ~6 months.
All my own views, of course.
There was a 4 minute piece with Nicky Campbell on Five live this morning about 8am with Dr Sara someone from Brighton Uni, a virologist-a v poor piece of non-challenged journalism.

I was thinking about this today after listening to morning news.
My take is that there is a concerted effort to quell media coverage re AVCT test - just from the very fact there is nothing out there when there must be people asking about the pregnancy style saliva test - seems odd to me no coverage in detail from any independent reporting on it at all.
Or I’m just a loon

Yes, on the whole the media silence is a blessing because Avacta can do without the distraction. Clamouring shareholders is probably bad enough! ;-)
Just a thought but if certain journalists know about Avacta perhaps their first instinct would be to fill their boots with shares rather than write about it and have to disclose an interest?
