Excellent, thank you
Very likely post Monday's event
PSB123 - Part of mainstream news coverage of Covid.
I have no clue as to timing's, Doze, but for all we both know perhaps it was discussed yesterday, so we can hope!
It would be nice to get rns news in a daily the same day it comes out (Monday?) if possible Ben. A pity they can't do there own footwork though.
Thanks Ben. Fingers crossed for coverage over the weekend.
Out of interest do you know if he / she is a financial / business or science journalist or would it be more likely to be main news?
A friend of mine at a major broadsheet interviewed the captain of the good ship Avacta yesterday - they know I'm invested (I told them when I tipped them off about the story) so are keeping tight lipped to maintain journalistic integrity, but I suspect we will see a story in the near future...
Benbenbenben - just wondered if you had any more info?
I’m really hoping we see media coverage this weekend ahead of a significant reveal on Monday. Just wondered what you’d heard?
Great thanks - would also be great to know if we are looking at mainstream media or some other hack. Exciting to think that finally our story might hit a wider audience - just hope it’s told correctly!
I'll enquire!
Thanks for keeping us updated benben- all sounds intriguing! Any idea when you think we might see coverage?
Timster - no mole catchers!
Seadogsteve - that is correct ;)
You can probably infer from my earlier posts in this thread what might be occuring...
please NO not the 2m mole catcher NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
As in an Avacta / Government member talking to a journalist.. or just an investor talking to a journalist - like the 2m mole catcher..
benbenbenben,
I know a man, who knows a man, who knows a man.
Now, you know this man.
;-}
@PSB123 - erm, probably best not to elaborate, just that I understand someone may have briefed a journalist and they may be speaking with someone of interest later today for a story...
our incredible PR company (Yellow Jersey) will see us right.....
Benbenbenben can you I elaborate please?
Thank you BenBenBen for bringing this back up. I hadn’t seen this thread before
Hearing that we might see some press coverage soon!
Having done a fair amount of press work and being friendly with several high profile journalist (with whom I often discuss the news) I'd suggest a few of the above posts are likely happening in parallel:
- As Chengdo says, Avacta are unlikely to be pursing coverage to manage any reputational risk and over-expectation. They have a PR company to address this when the validation process has completed and in any case, the test will promote itself
- Certainly no D-notice but I think an NDA is highly likely; it's clearly stated as part of the CONDOR process and is standard for complex commercial negotiations: when the topic is also so politically sensitive and the government (read: Cummings) are well-known for ruthlessly controlling the narrative, it would be strange to think they would just leave this rather large story lying around
- Additionally, it's also a bit of a non-story, until now that is. To-date, a company may or may not make lots of a test currently being reviewed and the government may or may not buy lots of that test. There's no concrete information and column inches are precious, so why would an editor fill them with speculation. Sure, its a big story for *us*, but why would some guy, in say, Bolton, give two figs about it? This was always the test a friend of mine would put to me when I tried to get coverage on things
- That said, as of today testing is on the front page of every newspaper; so I would expect coverage to start to emerge. Westminster may stay tight-lipped but I wouldn't be surprised if a few pieces start to emerge in the coming days as reporters start to join the dots now the interest is piquing. In any case, I messaged a few friends, including the person covering testing at the FT - so heres hoping!
It’s the investigative journalists filling their boots (and all their mates)! :-)
Something going on here!!
