I'm perfectly happy to wait but in the short term the price will only increase if and when LFT sales happen. Other than that, I expect it will be a long wait. I have shares in a US biotech with 16 drugs in the pipeline including potential cures for Hepatitis, cystic fibrosis and Hypertriglyceridemia to name but 3 with 5 of the 16 well into Phase 2 and the price has gone down from $90 to $60 over the last 10 months? Why? Because the market is not interested until any of these drugs gets to Phase 3. At the moment, as far as I know, Avacta has 1 into Phase 1.
Waiting isn't the problem nor is research but it why do people post such garbage all the time? It's like gold prospectors in the Wild West expecting to make a find every day!
Well instead of being a miserable sod on here you should have done your own research Russel!!
I'll be happy when the price gets somewhere near the £2-50 I paid at a time when all the know-it-all, know-nothings on here were saying the price would double within weeks!
His over-engineered responses are his badge of honour.
Absolute bore.
Death by 1000 cuts.
What zoom, you want longer replies?
Why use one sentence when you can use fifty.
Ripley, you know, because you read my posts, that i am in for the results of the AVA6000 trial.
Its not about risk, risk/reward is fine. (although I do my best to minimise the risk and maximise the reward.)
All I am saying is that I thought, based on what we knew, LFT income and its potential had been over stated thus far, (and that has proved correct), so when i recognised that fact i started to sell down to maximise gain.
Your investing style is different to mine. I am not looking for a multi bagger, I would rather take 5,10,20% short term gains rather than take high risk, time independent stocks that have a strong record of not delivering.
It looked like AVCT 18 months ago was going to quickly multibag, a rare thing indeed in my experience, but it was not to be then.
Maybe now? but AVA is a long haul as is AVCT, short of a buy out, so I am now down to a holding that I will wait to see how it plays out and trade on the side as and when i see fit.
But thanks for your investing advice, but SYN, is doing fine, as is AGL. Its only AVCT that has disappointed so far, but hopefully its time will come.
Wyndrum, why are you still hanging around when there are better stocks out there to be involved with.
You are by far the most boring, irritating & repetitive poster I’ve had the misfortune of sharing a public bulletin board with.
Then if you think we’re a sinking ship Wyn, why don’t you sell all your shares and buy back next year after the LFT saga has been revealed for what it is (good or bad) and initial data has been released (good or bad). That way all doubt will be gone or confirmed and you will have a company worth a lot more of a lot less but none of your concerns. In fact why don’t you buy a banking share with a steady growth rate year on year, that way you’ve got no doubts at all and barely any upside relative to inflation? In fact why don’t we all buy stocks with absolutely zero risk? Simple, no risk, no rewards. I thought the idea of investing was to find stocks with great unrealised potential. Honestly this lieutenant Colombo act is so old you’re nothing more than a boil on our arses.
Well we all have the same information available, however facts are Abdx has received significant POs from Avacta for the test, it’s on latest RNS from Abdx, this would suggest current capacity from GAD is getting sold out!! That’s a logical assumption as not going to order from another manufacture, if current capacity meets you’re needs! Of course the market wants clarity, this will surely come in the next trading update. All depends what you think personally and if it’s worth the risk for you’re hard earned cash!!
That's a muxh better analogy, Wyndrum. Well done!
Let's hope the Avacta team are wrapped up warm. Gets a bit chilly up Everest.
I bet if you'd bought your tests from ODX they'd have RNS'd it Timster.
Actually that gives me a great idea!
Why don't you buy more tests this time from them
They do an RNS
We go up
What could possibly go wrong?
Doc, why then is the SP where it is? Whats your reasoning as to why we are, give or take just above the placing price of 18 months ago?
Why is it that generally covid test related companies SP are on the way down yet Covid treatment companies (SYN for instance) are on the way up, even though Europe , US and UK have high or relatively high infection rates?
@Timster “my Affidx purchase alone was £175. Surprised there was no RNS today ...”
If only you suffered from repetitive behaviour in the same way as Marik, they could have RNS’d it
Well, icecool, we are back to negative and positive are we, rather than reality?
What happened to mologic giving tests to poor and middle income countries. You would have thought with this latest outbreak in Africa that that was an opportunity missed?
Given we have had the test out for nearly 6 months and also remember that AS was talking about partners and manufacturing back in the early part of the year to be put in place to hit the ground running, remember also that the test was ready to go 9 months ago and was just waiting for the paperwork (ie CE validation) to be granted.
Then we had Delta, and AVCT could detect it, and still no HUA or EA from anywhere, so even if AVCT detect this variant, I don't see particularly why that will change anything,
It is not negative or positive to think about whether we will get meaningful test sales, but prudent in valuation terms to dismiss it until something concrete emerges, based on the actual evidence.
The writing has been on the wall since July
Avacta are already selling test though aren’t they? We just don’t understand the volume yet.
my Affidx purchase alone was £175. Surprised there was no RNS today ...
That’s assuming they sell no tests during a pandemic, which is very negative thinking imo
LDA, if you don't like analogy's then try this:
AVCT are losing £20m per year and have valuation of over £300m
AVA better be successful, so currently they are climbing Everest and they have left base camp and proceeding to the first level on the mountain (any better?)
All the steps have to be completed for a successful outcome and the clock is ticking.
Agree...
1. We are going to fill paperwork for FDA in the near term
2. FDA Approved go ahead.
Formality, everything is reading between the lines until Avacta actually tell us how AVA6k is performing. Having been in this share 18months, Ill refrain from being exciting on this news.
PK Data and HUA more important updates in my opinion.
Comparing Avactas progress to Man City winning the league is somewhat far fetched.
Man City have a history of winning the league and have huge resources to get themselves there.
Avacta don't and I expect aren't priced on a par like man City winning the league.
Donald,
It could be the muted reaction to the SP is due to... "so what" ..... heres an analogy:
Man City are expected to win the league, so when they beat Norwich, its a given to do that if they are going to go on and win the league:
Ergo, if AVCT are going to go on and be successful with AVA600k then this is just a step that is at the early stages of getting to the final goal.
(we need to remember there is still a lot of expectation already reflected in the SP)
Yep leaves is consistently negative except at a funeral where he is in his element.
Ive heard the only time Russell is happy is when he is stamping on snails or talking to fridge magnets. Just a rumour mind but does explain a lot.....
