It's the only way Gaza, surely, what's the point of people isolating for 10 days, test daily , negative , go out, positive, stay in. Simples. As long as you are using the best test out there. Come on Avacta.
@GAZALA69
Is this 'Test & Release' strategy in the public domain now? I know you were a bit reluctant to publicise this a couple of days ago. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks enteleon.
I know of 3 people that I work with who are currently self isolating for 10 days at home because another colleague's partner has covid and they worked within 2 metres of that colleague.
They have tested daily at home and none of 3 people have caught covid but they have to stay at home for 10 days.
The one who's partner has covid has caught covid - 4 days after self isolating but it is obviously that it would be passed on considering that they are living together.
Test and release with sovereign LFT's has to be the way.
@GAZALA69: Yes, I've just had confirmation from a retired medical colleague that families/groups who require the ten-day isolation may be divided into two groups. One group undergoes the ten-day isolation with one final PCR test; the other group performs an LFT every day which, if negative, allows them to not isolate for 24 hours. This scheme has definitely already commenced.
HMG is being extraordinarily obfuscatory and I cannot help but think that there is a degree of malign intent from the likes of Dido Harding and her husband, John Penrose. Whilst I have no faith whatsoever in BJ and MH to execute a competent and above-board testing campaign, it is possible that someone like Michael Gove could make a difference here. He is both intelligent and pragmatic enough to get the plot that a comprehensive and high quality LFT roll-out could dramatically alleviate the isolation issue. The ramifications of such a roll-out would be considerable and would open up several domains of commercial/economic/international travel activity.
We're in the lap of some very inferior gods here and we cannot yet rely on intelligent and decent practice from HMG. Monday's Q and A webinar may reveal some of AS' frustrations. Holding firm. GLA.
Oh my.
"Future testing is going to reduce the 10 day self isolation rule when you have been within 2 metres of a person who has tested positive IMO."
Come on Al. Get those orders sealed.
Burn the "Made in China" test.
Wyndrum When you look at £ 1500 per year i would say that this is too much . Either the price needs to be less or perhaps the testing interval could be say every 2 weeks as things improve transmission wise
Well, try harder next time... you know how thin skinned I am :0))
Sorry @wyn couldn't resist that one :-)
Bit harsh Scardey! :0))
"Say Gran and Grandad live about 10-15 miles away and you see them once a week with the kids, at £7.50 a test that's £30 a week extra to pay. or £1,500 a year."
@wyn. You never know, they might pay you £1,500 a year to stay away.
Tbh, the government should fund all daily testing, as it should allow the economy, business etc to get back to a sense of normality. If you test as infectious on the day then you don't go out. Then hopefully reducing the R number . They have spent billions on furlough, test and trace. It has took billions off our gdp etc. So a small expense per person, to allow easing in a controlled manner IMO would be a good way to go
Thanks Pardariff, that's interesting do you think?

Pigster As with all these world wide aspirations the contracts/ paperwork will take time and i cant see an announcement of large sales before monday.Hope i am wrong!
Wyndrum Under £10 per test would be my guess in UK , a reasonable cost to give peace of mind
RM: the obvious thing you're missing is that we have the whole world to sell to, not just the messed up UK market.
Hello Scarabbeatle
My thinking is that the public sector (hospitals, schools, etc) will be using LFT & PCR testing.
Private sector (pubs, restaurants, theatres) will use LFT testing to allow daily trading.
Private sector (offices, factories, warehouses) are they using testing? Is it government supplied or is it self-funding?
If private sector is self-funding, will employers pay to test and protect their employees & customers?
The reason for the question was to try and understand how the tests are being used at the moment and where.
You made the interesting comment about daily LFT testing with a mobile app’ that gives you a safe passport for the day.
MrA, is your wife MrsA? Doesn't she kill loads of people in hospitals?
MrA, I agree. It also states that fewer steps are beneficial and not needing a timer is a good idea. I’m not sure where having to make adjustments to what and when you eat and timing this activity fits in to their desires. It’s a shambolic mess, but what’s new? Given the tests that are in the market currently and the majority of nations globally seem perfectly happy with nasal swabbing of some sort, an AN test is the best there is. Add in the neat solution we have for disposal and most importantly of all the excellent performance, I consider our test to be the best available and that’s without too much bias. The bias that confirms it is that the logo will look cool on the box, that’s makes it the best in the world.
Pardariff, that's a good point, but that perhaps then begs the question: what price would you think is acceptable for it to be Inexpensive?
RMF all testing is linked to government. As work in public sector. All results are emailed to HR. And is mandatory as well as wearing all necessary ppe and social distancing etc etc.
The jab is not a cure and it's also not a 100% defence.
YOU CAN STILL CATCH COVID but hopefully the symptoms will in most people be less severe.
There us also the possibility many people had contracted Covid within a few hours of getting the jab and showed no symptoms...there has been some question about how the body would react in this case and what result you would get from a LFT should symptoms from the virus and/or jab appear.
I know several people who felt quite poorly after their jab but it only lasted a couple of days.
In France you are advised to take Paracetamol for 2 to 3 days after the jab to relieve any symptoms you may get.
Wyndrum I agree with your testing comments but would add that families who travel to visit relatives may well take the test to reassure especially if they were not expensive
nothing to do with AVACTA though.
