Wonga, I remembered that too and if memory does serve, then I think the remark was in the context of the expectation/hope of emergency home use approval being granted and was along the lines of, if we (AVCT) have to apply for it in the normal way then it would take until the end of the year and by then it will be too late. (Year end did seem to imply December, well it did to me.)
HUA is likely now to be necessary for widespread travel and potential larger events if people are forced to take a LFT. Otherwise its not going to be particularly popular I don't think. I can't see many families just buying the test before popping out to the cinema or going for a drink or meal etc.
The key is either for AVCT to be the preferred test by govt(s)(currently unlikely) or the surplus of free tests both domestic and international needs to stop. I thought i read some weeks ago that end of Sept was the end of free testing here in the UK. If it continues on through the winter, then I don't see how AVCT "sell" their test against free ones.
On my thought process (as I have said before), the sales of our test seem to hinge on HUA allowing an airline to consider using them. I think its only when those 2 separate but interconnected strands come together, will we see meaningful sales. And if such a thing occurs then we are in the hands of Medusa as much as AVCT on both counts.
As this gets further away in time it now looks ever more likely that AVA600k results and updates will come before sales of the LFT and that's a sobering thought
He said it’d have to be done by year end for it to be useful, not the same - we know Medusa were conducting studies a few months back now and it’s in progress, you’d imagine it should be imminent. Not comparable but it’s taken longer than CV did!
Does seem to be taking a very long time, but as AS was at pains to make clear the personal use CE mark is a very different beast from the professional one which we have.
This also won't be like the existing home use kits which are allowed because the MHRA have given emergency usage.
Once the CE mark is obtained that's it done there isn't a need to rely on the MHRA to grant it and extend it as they are for the Chinese LFTs.
On a previous investor presentation, AS mentioned they are looking to get HUA by year end.......
Thank you.
Hope we do get it next week.
Thanks.
Strangy - nobody has a clue. That’s not me being flippant. Zero idea. Medusa have been working on it for some time now - longer than I’d have ever imagined. Is this a good sign? On one hand, yes, on the other…
We’ll know one way or the other. But not by RNS - which is a little annoying.
I believe it’s coming in the next weeks.
PS. Thank you for the replies.
Appreciated. GLA
Thanks just viewed this.
With regards to the home use?
There was a chat on here with timings etc from how long from submitting this would take with regards to updated timings etc for home test validation by HMG.
Cannot find this but would be interested to know how long this would take with the correct methods applied and completed.
I assumed it was or heard it was 14 days. Is that correct?
Well the answer to the question I just posted was that it's covered under a confidentiality agreement and nothing would be released in CE mark for personal use is achieved.
Do we know of any key milestones and timelines for home use.
This is obviously a big factor short term in the SP and also the market cap.

Question 8 , working closely with medusa 19 when they have material news they will release to market
Strangy, in my opinion we’ll get an RNS prior to Thursday week confirming home use approval.
I have been using the LFTs with my family on a very regular basis.
This week my family has between us done 12 tests. This is for our benefit in moving around and meeting others etc.
We are not yet using LFTs for work or other similar areas but would.
This leads me to think that the market is still very large with home use for
Travel, events, meeting others, work and so on.
It in my opinion is therefore now essential in the short term that the HUA is in place very soon.
Does anyone know of any imminent news regarding home use of the Avacta LFT?
