Not really got a problem with Medusa..
Once they have a test they will smash it out there.
Obviously GOV contract is going to be the way forward. Question is, when it’s ready who will be negotiating this - AVCT or MED19?
Well I’m not going to argue with someone who has spent so much time in Elswick am I ??!!
My first reaction to the advert was the same as yours. On reflection though, so long as the emphasis changes when the next generation tests come out, then it could work in our favour. For example, the Med19 headlines might be “Next Generation Covid Test Now Available Here - Detects Virus at its Most Infectious stage !!”. There would then follow some narrative on how this is an improvement on previous home testing kits etc.
With Med19 I just think we are looking at an unfinished decorating job at the moment.
@spike66, I agree with what your saying but I think Medusa need to have credibility and be straight as to what they are selling, at the moment it's very misleading
When our product comes to market I want the customer to be able to trust the distribution company
Given that the Avacta test is not yet commercially available, Medusa’s advertising of their own product is probably ok at the minute. The big test will come when they start selling the Avacta LFT (if there’s any left for them !). I would hope that they would then change their advertising to clearly show the key differences in the two products and in what circumstances they should be used. Meanwhile, they are clearly trying to shift as much antibody test as possible before the next generation antigen tests are available... personally, I think that’s ok... make hay when the sun shines. :-)
MFM, your clearly unhappy the way Avacta are running,
You have been invested I'm guessing since about April?
You must have made a decent profit so why not sell up and invest in Novacyt?
Then you might be a happy bunny
Your post is gibberish
Really, people fretting over a description of a product on a website, a product that hasn’t seen the light of day.
Al spend some of your placing wealth on buying out some folks from NCYT they seem to know how to get products to market in quick time. And before everyone else start producing pregnancy test like antigen tests.
It would be hard pulling the contract but some pressure to accurately describe their antibody product could be applied. Trading standards could apply pressure. I think this could be a good question to put in for the presentation. The general market /public doesn’t have the in depth knowledge of science to prevent stuff like this from surfacing.
Phantom, I think you’re spot on there although the Kamanis have a lot of cash they can throw at this and the distribution/ marketing is immense.. It will be a tough call pulling the contract.
It's not too late to pull out of the contract with Medusa. Sign up with someone like Boots they have the logistics in place, just needs ramping up a bit. They also have a trusted reputation, TV advertising and have been a household name for generations. There will be a plethora of clauses in the Medusa contract surrounding behaviour that could be used to get out.
The association with Boohoo sounded great when it was announced, not so great now - further aggravated by the fact they are being not at all honest on their website. The Lad Bible ought to be ashamed for sponsoring this crud. It is misleading...
The problem is that when they are found out and their name is all over the news, will be when they are selling our test and Avacta will drawn into the shaming by association
Absolutely unbelievable pack of bare faced lies. The govt aren’t interested because it’s a pointless antibody test. They’re making up utter rubbish about other antibody tests and proclaiming they have the answer to get things back to normal rather than using PCR - when it’s not an antigen test.
I just hope there’s a clause to get cleanly shot of these muppets when they get put out of business. Great at PR, fantastic at selling one use dresses, what on earth they’re doing in the diagnostics market I’ve no idea.
