Johnht I hope not - think the air diffuser idea is classic - I just wanted to file patent before anyone else. I am going to add it to the application for suppositories and eye drops.
Got it at @RD last you'll hear.
OPhidian,
Wait till Trump gets a "wiff" of the novel idea you are laughing at! We may not be "qualified" in affimer science like some, but I can assure you we can give Trump a few extra votes! Don't cancel the bleach order just yet, mister!
Until I received the post of the day award for Cygnetiva I was a bit ducked off you hadn't noticed.
@doze "Affimers have not been through human trials." -- that's a fair point.
I wouldn't recommend coming up with delivery methods when we don't even know the dosage.
So so so so so Many Experts - well at least I get a good laugh.
Warning: Listening to some wannabe's can seriously hurt your ribs as well as ruin your finances

As I say delivery to the lungs. Tend to do this when you want high dose in lungs but low dose elsewhere to avoid side effects. So actually trying to avoid absorption from the lungs.
Closest thing I know to a neutralising agent are antibodies - injected.
Some vaccines are given nasally but again provoke a systemic affect.
Nasal delivery of a local acting neutralising therapy might work locally (for a bit) but I don't think would offer much protection.
However I did post an alternative therapy yesterday and I'm sure we could adaot affirmers to that.
Affimers have not been through human trials.
Sng001 is nebulized - delivery to the lungs
tils have just submitted a patent for nasal delivery of Mab. However, I think it is intended to have a systemic affect rather than local neutralising action. I don't think TILS patent extends to affirmers......
Not a crazy idea. Steroids, antihistamines, saline - lots of things delivered nasaly. Lot of people looking at it for all sorts of proteins - hormones etc. I can see why you asked and let's hope Al stops by here on his way to the Whaler (go on Al - have the large haddock, you deserve it).
Putting affimers in a pipe and beaming the results via bluetooth is a **** idea.
I like the idea.
Lungs are a wet mucous membrane and highly absorbable - thats how O2 gets in and CO2 out right? and outside the body - apparently- so a good pace for those pesky affimers to work the magic?
Cheers
I have another one... cotton buds, but not in your nose...
Hear me out... I'm thinking ears - Cygnetiva are going to make us RICH.
I'm thinking ambi pur air freshener *style* - A squirt in the room once every 30 minutes.
This could be the pivot that Cygnetiva are looking for.
PL75,
Actually, the kid might be onto something here. If it works for interferon beta why not affimers coupled with hydroxychloroquine or remdisivir? Better still, Daewoong's stem cells idea? Since the whole mess starts in the lungs anyway.
ST
RDs Cygnetiva typo ?..... c’mon PL you’re just swanning around :)
And there was me about to give you post of the day, pipping RDs Cygnetiva typo in to a tragic second place
Dear AgentB,
I am sorry, I should not have joked about your suggestion. It was silly of me.
I guess your suggestion about affimers being inhaled would be on the line of SNG interferon beta?
I have no idea whether affimers can be used that way, but it is a valid idea to bear in mind.
Sorry again.
ST
AgentB,
The Boohoo team, apart from the app, is already working on a range of perfumes, soap and shampoos for the winter sales.
RNS coming shortly.
Wilson
No. Yes it's a mad idea.
Ophidian
It seems that Covid 19 is incubated in nasal cells. So I was just wondering whether - once the LFT is all up and running of course - whether there would be any merit in a nasal spray containing neutralising affirmers? What do the scientists out there think?
Also, would they be useful in air diffusers/air conditioning systems?
I'm no scientist - so please don't shout be down. I'm just speculating on other potential revenue sources.
