Looks like Cubed are building a section of their website dedicated to ABDX...
https://jobs.cubedresourcing.co.uk/vacancies/2244/nights-production--assembly-operatives.html
Great post Muck. Well done on taking the initiative to "go under cover", well, on the phone . . . but it looks like you came up with the goods. The jigsaw is taking shape.
Nice one, Muck!
To start, and just for transparency, I’m in ABDX as well as AVCT. But I’m in ABDX because of AVCT.
Earlier in this thread I highlighted that ABDX seemed to be working heavily with a recruitment partner, Cubed Resourcing, and had even poached an HR Director from them in Feb.
Well, I called Cubed today feigning interest in the Production/Assembly (nights) vacancies they had been advertising for a LFT manufacturer in Sand Hutton, York, and this is what I was told;
-The employer company makes the ABC-19 test (so it’s definitely ABDX).
- Cubed have been working with them as a strategic recruitment partner for a year, and in that time staff numbers have grown from 50 to 255.
-18 production/assembly operatives (night shifts) started on 28/3, and a further 7 are due to start on Weds this week.
- there is an expectation that weekend production staff will also be recruited (these are already being advertised). If that gets the green light, Cubed are expecting to recruit 60 people to those positions.
- all of these nights and weekend production staff are on 3 month temporary contracts, but the expectation is that these will continue to roll every 3 months to serve demand. 3 of those who started on 28/3 have already been switched to permanent contracts, and more are expected to follow.
The company has expanded its York and Doncaster facilities.
Note that the conversation only related to production work. We didn’t touch on the various other vacancies Cubed have advertised for the same company since March, which include multi positions in warehouse staff, Quality Control, Reg Affairs, Project Mgmt, Software Development etc, or the other high level posts which have been filled since Feb.
I can’t believe it’s a coincidence that this massive scale up started just after AVCT announced its initial performance data for AffiDX, or that ABDX would shell out this much cash unless they had real confidence of demand.
"What an argumentative twat that Ndn is, he has to be single". .... bottmzup (or titzdown as she is know at night) is his wife.
"What an argumentative twat that Ndn is, he has to be single". .... bottmzup (or titzdown as she is know at night) is he's wife.
Ndn has to have the last word always.
Vegas -so bitter must be divorced and ex took half pension and here trying to rebuild it.
Vegas Yep so tedious.
Not has to be, I bet he is mate.
Ndn biggest deramper going mate.
Does my nut in.
He enjoys this.
I mean if u are not in a stock then stop deramping.
If you are in it then quickly sell and leave if you don't like it.
Ifs really that simple.
Leave all the good people that have invested here to make some money.
It's always nice to hear people doing well.
All the very best my fellow holders.
IMPORTANT READ...
We all know we cannot say much...
I have a little story I have written to tell you.
Hope you like my story
Imagine someone that works around or at a company and can give us good news before everyone else. When they tell us things suddenly change and take longer, this doesn't mean we hate that person.
If only there was a person like that.
Nice story I know.
RNS come delayed and doesn't mean they are not coming.
All the very best fellow holders, want you ALL to make money and make more than me.
Looking forward to that presentation soon.
Have a great day
Andy
I don’t think I said it was...
I’m just trying to illustrate that the scale up is actually happening. Take it or leave it, that’s up to you.
In Feb 21, Abingdon recruited Brenda Hogan as their HR Director. She came to them from Cubed Talent Management.
https://www.linkedin.com/in/brendaghogan/?originalSubdomain=uk
Since March 12, Cubed has listed the following vacancies, all for an LFT manufacturer in Hand Sutton, York (where ABDX are based).
Warehouse operatives (for new warehouse space). Multiple roles
Production/Assembly operatives - multiple roles
Project Manger with IT bias
Production/Assembly operatives (weekends). Multiple roles on 24/7 shift pattern.
Manufacturing scheduler
Production lab technician
Head of Quality and Reg Affairs
Technical Manager
Quality Control Officer - multiple roles
Primary Production Operative - multiple roles
Software Engineers - multiple roles
Health and Safety coordinator
Some of the listings are still live, whilst others have gone (so I’m assuming they were filled).
Sounds to me like they’re all geared up to make our test!
'Just waiting for Boris to let go'...
Starter flag raised then...
ABDX have been recruiting like mad recently in all areas from IT, quality control, production, warehousing, the latest one being for a number of weekend assembly operatives working three shifts covering 24 hours a day. They certainly seem to be making something...!
I don’t live far from Sand Hutton, might pop over for a snoop if I get chance later
Yes, he/she posted that yesterday. They also posted the following on the 14th;
20th I say.........was at HQ yesterday and the number just was there in plain sight! Just between you and I eh?
and;
20th .......just have this feeling
On the 6th;
Shackles off here and shackles off the "Goods Outwards" yard gate ......... : --))
and;
Busy today at Sand Hutton with lots of comings and goings. Obviously CFO happy with progress as bagged a few shares under a £1. Lots of stock still in the yard. Keeping dry hopefully during the brief snow storm over the A64. Had a brief chat with a delivery driver, who said he couldn't affirm what was his load. Offered him a kit-kat but still wouldn't say anything other than the route from Wetherby had been much busier than normal, with lockdown easing. Ah well back tomorrow for more Bielsa-like spying through the fence.
Was he the one line RNS 20.4.2021 poster yesterday?
ref...Awax... so would appear to have some inside knowledge, which makes his recent post all the more intriguing.

Positive announcement on LFT was expected here in York today after my trip to HQ last week, so now just waiting for Boris to let this go. Will have to look at Sand Hutton again today to see if the stream of delivery trucks full of those busy little affimers continues from TA. Production continues apace judging by the smoke billowing from the factory and the goods outwards yard almost full to the fence-tops.
Awax was calling the 20th as far back as the 14th, so would appear to have some inside knowledge, which makes his recent post all the more intriguing.
It would be interesting to have some feedback on what hours they are working at either Whetherby or Sand Hutton.
Out of interest, I had another out of hours walk round Carclo's Mitcham production facility last Sunday night.
Lights on, carpark half full, obviously working 24/7, something appears to be brewing.
Perhaps they are contracted to GAD plus others for the Avacta test, as they mentioned a massive 19 year contract for a global OEM, supplying disposable diagnostics products.
Everything seems to be falling into place.
GLA.
The poster name is AWAX (hi AWAX) and reading his posting history he also called the RNS yesterday!
Awax,
If you could comment further on the post below that would be appreciated.
Not sure if legitimate but read this on the Abington chat;

The Abington holders are desperate for an RNS to confirm they are still supplying the AVCT test so we may have further news today.
