TDF..
What utter nonsense you spout! You are blinded by the big numbers.. `but reality is that this will never come to anything..mark my words
As i thought bitter and a bad investor. You have admitted to be wrong before. There is a good chance you are wrong again.
Slovenia has exited the treaty, but is still liable to pay damages that a tribunal awards. £50m, seems lie a reasonable amount too get out of paying £565m.
Dog, I sold at a significant loss…I cannot see this share in the same light as you so will never get back in.
It was an expensive lesson for me, I should have bailed out on instinct when I attended the first shareholder meeting after parsons took over but the gambler in me robbed me of sense.
I suspect that not many of the attendees at that meeting are still holding. Like you, I was an enthusiastic and hopeful investor but eventually realised that I needed to cut and run and fortunately and luckily have found other opportunities.
Non existent opportunities touted by Parsons include the failed Cuban foray and current inactivity in Latin America should be warning signs for you. Relying on litigation being successful in Slovenia is a long shot that will not be resolved for many years, perhaps even decades.
Good Luck with your guesswork!
Kash has obviously sold out and is looking to get back in cheaper, why else post on a where you down shares.£50 million settlement for AST is very feasible.
Note the 20% increase in employee costs. It seems the board have awarded themselves well for nothing. The only identifiable employees are the board!!
Also note the auditors comment which is the same as the last report.
“ Based on historical and recent support from new and existing investors the Board believes that such funding, if and when required, could be obtained through new debt or equity issuances. However, there can be no guarantee over the outcome of these options and as a consequence there is a material uncertainty of the Group's ability to raise the necessary finance, which may cast doubt on the Group's ability to operate as a going concern. Further, the Group may be unable to realise its assets and discharge its liabilities in the normal course of business.”
That maybe so .However if the court case is settled, then i believe that AST will get 350 million plus, which will of course be transformational for both the company and the SP.
What's positive about doing nothing for 3 years ....or more .... this lot of so called executives are a joke.. Do you know any business in the real world that would be acting like this .. Top heavy board over paid executives and no progress in terms of strategy WHATSOEVER!! ... Treading water is the name of the game getting as much out for the absolute minimum input.. Anyone can see this
Very positive, especially
Filing of upgraded €656.5 million Energy Charter Treaty memorial, supported by independent technical oil and gas as well as financial damage quantum experts, setting out the claimants position, merits and jurisdiction for its claim.
· Contracted an after the event insurance policy in relation to the Company's €656.5 million ECT damages claim.
Nice chunky document to read through this morning. Looks positive
Cleodie Rickard, a trade campaigner at Global Justice Now, said: “It is a travesty that an oil company like Rockhopper can get this massive payout through secretive tribunals in the energy charter treaty.
Massive payment coming ASTs way.
The point is though , they have withdrawn. If they are not bothered about paying massive damages , then why waiste the parliament’s time.
I don’t believe that they will pay anything near the full claimed damages. However, a payment of 10% will mean a 10x increase in ASTs SP. Worth a lot more than a bag of chips(:
I was not aware Dog, as I no longer follow the progress of AST as I am no longer invested.
I occasionally look at the BB with a casual interest as my wife holds a few shares here.
I have a view that the Slovenian government will never settle and I noted in the link you posted that the Slovenian decision was made at their Parliament and after no debate there was a 100% in favour of the withdrawal.
I wish all invested here the best of luck but believe that in the Casino of AIM this is a bet for the house, punters won’t have enough for a bag of chips on the way home!
Kashdog,
What you are clearly unaware of , is that Slovenia has already pulled out of the Treaty.
https://www.euractiv.com/section/politics/news/slovenia-withdraws-from-energy-charter-treaty/
Why would it pull out of a treaty if it wasnt worried about being sued and losing millions because oi it. Italy has recently lost an ECT case to Rockhopper and Italy is considerably more powerful than Slovenia
Dog father completely missing my point!!
I'm not going to get into the remark about being a shareholder. Almost 5 years ago I sat through a link listening live to Clive Carver & Colin Hutchinson talking about near term potential. I exchanged correspondence with Colin & even chased him down through LinkedIn demanding answers after the company launched an out of hours a placing literally 3 days after he gave an interview stating there was no need to raise finance. Colin closed his LinkedIn account & scurried off to a new fundraising job.
So the question regarding being a shareholder...my long term investment in AST is approx 86% down since 2018!!
I couldn't care less in DogFathers opinion...he appears out of thin air in the last 2 weeks & rates himself as a tipster to how AST will turn around!
My concern is will long term investors actually benefit??
I'd remind anyone to go on YouTube & look through a few interviews given by James Parsons when he was in charge of Sound Energy. Look at the hype based on nothing & look at the history of their share price since!
I'm no longer interested in the long term potential of this business. All I want is my initial investment back & never again will I touch a business where Parsons, Dennan & Graeme Wood are involved!!
Slovenia backing down?…Good Luck with that Dog!
Ping,
I will not be attending the upcoming AGM.
Thats right, they check your shareholding at AGMs Ping, so you cant attend.
My guess is that Slovenia will back down and pay ATS about £50 million, more than 10x the current market cap. Wjta do you say Pong ?
Nasty little non holding deramper, that cant answer a simple question. The settlement will make this a 0 bagger. Not that you care as a non share holder. Dont try and pretend that you are. Everybody had read you false posts these last few years.
It's got a lot to do with it!! As a shareholder I want to see a return on my investment! I'm wondering what the current BOD will do with any potential award & whether long term investors will benefit from it directly. James Parsons sold Sound Energy investors a complete clock & bull story which came to nothing. See how long term holders were treated there.
This current lot are not to be trusted - look at every other business they are associated with!! These clowns will be responsible for reinvesting any money & look how the share price has performed under their leadership.
AST have a metals strategy 2 years old which has achieved nothing!!
What on earth has that got to do with a claim against Slovenia, pursuant to the ICSID Convention for breach of various provisions of the ECT ?
Correction £210m
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/aug/24/oil-firm-rockhopper-wins-210m-payout-after-being-banned-from-drilling
Obviously the market is mindful of the hysteria whipped up by James Parsons while in charge at Sound Energy. Let's see some actual tangible results and then I'm sure the market will react accordingly.
The UK oil firm Rockhopper was recently awarded $190m in a case it brought against Italy
That's my view exactly.
💯🚀👍 So even at 10% £50million in the coffers would certainly TRANSFORM THE SMALL MARKET cap
You are right Tyre. Slovenia, is a very beautiful but small country. I would imagine that 650 odd million euros is a lot of money to them. Thinking rom there end, i would imagine that paying out just 10% of the possible pay out would seem as a win to them.
