Omnicron cases detected in the USA today, so the market is having a bit of a mild panic again. Damn, should have waited. Tempted to buy more but my ISA allowance is maxed now. Bargain at these levels. Any lockdown will be good for Asos sales.
On Bloomberg: Germany has over 67,000 Covid cases yesterday.
Next week Parliament to pass a law that unvaccinated people are in FULL LOCKDOWN and to stay at home and can only go to "Essential Retail". CAN ONLY DO ONLINE SHOPPING. Therefore, Increased purchases for Clothes from ASOS :)
Who knows if it's reliable indicator, but bought value is pretty strong today. Topped up a bit, missed the low lows of yesterday but so it goes.
I admire your optimism Claire. Either that, or you have bought in at a higher price and are hoping to talk the price up.
Increased volumes (even substantial ones) do not automatically convert to increased profit. Their business plans are good. It is a well run company. It will withstand pressures more than some. However, in my opinion, there is more likelihood of a further profit warning than there is of a report of a great last few months through to xmas. Margins will remain low, and inflationary and logistical factors will hold the share back in the short term. That's not to say the share won't rise a bit....it's clear this is a volatile share where the price seems to vary up and down by at least 10% each month. I think being on AIM is more susceptible to market manipulation.
If this was listed in the US would be 2.5 times the price, U.K. listing a killer, U.K. investors have been decimated since 2008, terrible self harming politics ( endless fxxking referendums ) trashed currency, brexit madness ( leave the largest trading block in the world with NOTHING to replace it with ) Until you have a decent opposition and a change away from the present madness I cant see anything listed in U.K. doing any good. If you had just bought an s S&P or Nasdaq tracker over last few years you would have doubled or better your money and had USD protection. I just cant see any good news for U.K., parabolic taxes and inflation, a currency endlessly in decline, fat wheezing Johnson running the country into the ground, asos problems are not just supply problems I’m afraid.
they are struggling with demand, they shipped alot of product, and now in full xmas mode.
they have good staff and retention levels with the warehousing and logistics side of things.
looking through their careers section on linkedin you can see they are now pushing to expand across EU and ramping up for a big 2022
Made a few orders at the end of last week.
Received emails for them all saying they are struggling with demand. Possibly due to a lack of staff rather than bumper sales?
based on the current MCAP legacy high points and the actual market landscape at the moment, this share is a great opportunity.
come January sales figure this will rocket on good news.
Keep buying claire :D
website traffic numbers are up and this company is doing very well at the moment.
the price drop and mcap does not represent the dominate position they have currently, and into the future.
the next 5 years will be dominated by Asos, as it will take a long time for any material competitor to enter the picture.
Don't know about you guys, but I'd be happy to average down a bit at £23 or £22 if the chance arises. I got in at £24 during the last dip.
I wonder if a PE of 20 the new normal and in order for this to trade materially higher it will need to either increase market share or increase margins. One of which is likely to be difficult with higher costs.
as the rate of growth will likely be taipered by borrowing costs and lower margins.
I begin to wonder if this could go sub 2000p and struggle to move above 3000p. My thinking is in a world of rising rates (if you believe inflation is not transitory) I suspect that the high multiple growth stocks will struggle to command these same fwd p/e's we are used to seeing.
Only going one way, back to bargain basement levels or lower,£22's by friday.
Are expected to tumble again today, trouble is ours tumbled yesterday on an up day.
