I think In any stock you take a risk. I had IAG then Covid came...OUCH.
We know there is the risk next week, and Bitcoin is far from stable but it’s the risk we take :-)
Thanks Grocer, we sound similar. I have loaded and now average 102p with some recent buys at 285p.
The thing to get used to for me is the 24/7 BTC. It used to be a weekend off.
But love it tbh. Agree re BTC - whole thing has to fail for ARB not to at least x5 from here. Feels like a good bet to take.

RC well put. I am similarly minded. I got in, in size, at 12p and loaded up all the way to about 80p. I then found the rise to £3 very very unsettling. I enjoyed it but it completely took over my life. I have a wife and 3 kids and an 18hr a day city job, so stumbling around between these (or rather not doing those jobs at all) preoccupied with my phone looking at ARB UK and US prices, BTC, constantly, drained me badly. I sold 40%, felt immediately better, then I started to get my head round it all with some headspace and went back in. I have made peace with ARB;'s volatility and am happy to see where it heads. It doesn't stress me much anymore. I am in a few AIM shares, gold juniors and O&G, so I am used to volatility, but ARB as BTC proxy is on another level. I think ARB will do well unless of course BTC collapses. The valuation gap vs peers for me makes this the stand out miner, together with PW's transparency and PR focus and the diversification away from BTC mining in the medium term.
@CC haha indeed. I could have also used the 'getting dumped as a teenager' analogy. The first one was a killer but I soon got used to that given the frequency.
Good weekend

Well done Ian - you got in, made a stack and got out with your profits intact. Isn't that what it is all about?
Enjoy the piece of mind... and the security of the cash.
Well done Ian.
I have made my targets and will stick to them whatever. Must be getting senile but ignore the day to day fluctuations
Good on you Ian.
I took the other route and bought another 20,000 shares.
I sleep like a baby, for now!!
All the best Ian; well done for being honest with yourself, and I love the conversation this has started here too.
My sleep pattern sucks anyway (back injury), so waking three times during the night and randomly working for an hour until I can sleep again is no big issue for me, apparently this isn't particularly normal?!
I hope you enjoy your earning and your sleep!
[@RC - 3/3 Bulls dying by the sword... Um. Is the lesson here to never charge at a spiky thing...?]

Tymers hi mate
Given your comment, how does ARB today compare to say GGP a year ago?
Be good to get your take.
Cheers

Evening Ian,
You have to what is right for you. I used to get stressed but like others here have now learnt to enjoy it weirdly - even slept Tuesday eve after those horrendous paper losses.
Given it is Fri eve perhaps the BB will humour me a short story....it actually reminds me a little of a time I went to a bullfight in Seville. I went in order to understand it both in terms of the spectacle and the place in holds in parts of Spain. There were 3 'contests' with 3 bulls killed.
The first time I watched it I was horrified. It looked like torture to me and then the final blow just felt so brutal. It was truly shocking. The next one started, the same happened and bull was killed. Much much less shocking. By the third I was expecting it and whilst I didn't exactly shrug at the end, my feelings were very different from even less than an hour ago.
This is how I now feel about this market. There will be huge highs and monster lows but I am now expecting them. Like others I see this as a life changing opportunity and am learning to embrace the ups and downs. And of course this board helps given so many quality posters. My other shares are so dull in comparison. It is also fascinating to learn about other activities such as today's monthly short action and understand how it plays out.
So wishing you all the very best - have a sneaky feeling we'll see you again before too long.

Thanks all , I hope it goes to you he moon , but when thousands there for taking was there just got to Friday and tbh the ones left are made of different stuff to me , the best advice I can leave you with is tie your hand up and don’t look till Xmas IMO there will b a lot of millionaires then , but if you keep looking at sp , it will get to much money to turn down ,thanks again
ThePhrophet. Well the clues in the name and if its good enough for you to put 100k in. Smart move by the way it's good enough for us. Glh
Fair play! I probably joined here around the time it was all kicking off in January and it’s quite funny to think that you were viewed (to me anyway) as being a bit negative/de-ramping stuff.
Good luck and glad you’ve made some cash!
Neither have I, and like you, after so many years investing this, trading that, I have never come across something with such massive potential.
I personal think Argo will be huge if Bitcoin goes the way the world seems to believe it will.
And I have backed it up by buying £100k of stock in the last few weeks.
Onwards and upwards
Join the club . I haven’t slept properly since I bought in at 90 p and sold when the RNS spooked us that speeding ticket , and then I bought in again at 260 . Yes no doubt I made some serious cash . More than a years salary for many . But like you this is such a volatile stock accompanied by their family member BTC. The highs are great .. but the lows really spook me .
This week , think it was tues , checked BTC at 3 as I woke up like most nights but back asleep in seconds . Not the case that night , BTC was dropping like a brick ..
Na like you couldn’t do another weekend here. And TBH the RNS about CEO selling his shares and doing a placement , and some experts saying BTC could
Crash at any time as it now can’t get passed 51 .. I felt time to say good bye ..
I also have this weird feeling that BTC is going down over the weekend . Who knows . So feel relived though and fresh x
Good luck to you Ian. I commented last week to commend you on how far you’d come as a poster since that first couple of weeks in January! Health is wealth as they say. Hopefully now you can enjoy a bit of both!
Everyone to their own but have spent the last 20 years investing . Retired at 50 and have not found another stock that represents the opportunity for life changing gains than Argo. Blockchsin is the Future . Glh
Fair play Ian, I think you’re better off taking a break if that’s how you feel about the volatility here, , personally I love it, I get bored very easily so it’s great to have some interest 24/7.
I’m getting more relaxed about having money in arb than ever as everything the team do seems to make sense going forward.
Jayblu48 thanks , like I said Nasdaq the key , I will b back gl
Enjoy your money and more importantly peace of mind, may see you back here soon
Amanensia thanks mate , it was just to much money to riisk gl tho mate I hope you get your target
Yep, I think you're probably best out of it if you can't deal with volatility. Never mind!
Iam got out late today , tbh I haven’t slept properly since I was in the share , Iv made a great sum of money , and tbh , I think it will keep going up and down but I think the rises will out do the falls , this week more than any other has been so unpredictable its just fried my mind , in 3 to 4 weeks I will put some money back in on the gamble of Nasdaq listing , I think that is the real game changer , I couldn’t do another weekend lol gla
