Thanks rather be lucky makes perfect sense,
Simply they borrow say 100k shares from HL or another broker for a fee . They then sell them into the market . Once they wish to close the trade they have to buy them back and return the shares to HL . Separately if they want to join the bounce back of the share price they then purchase another 100k say . This is why there is like a double impact one to close the position and one to open a long
The Prophet,
Do you mind explaining that I’m trying to get my head around the whole shorting malarkey - Why how do they cover their positions then go long if they so wish ?
Delighted with my 20K shares at 1.28p today. A perfect buying storm of out of favour tech stocks and a BTC pullback.
The only good thing about the short positions, is that they have to be covered at some point, and that means extra buy trades to push us up, plus a double helping if they switch to long!
Bring it on!
I reckon that rise in last hour in the US market was short covering.
If so, we'll probably see more of this in the UK market tomorrow - precipitating a pretty nice rise in the SP. If we get some big buying pressure in addition to the short covering, tomorrow could be very interesting!
I’d be happy with a few days of boom followed by the trickle up!
I personally don't want to see 30% days here nice as they were
Totally unsubstantial far better with the gentle 3 to 8% days
Little and offer far better than boom and bust imo
Amen to that Theprophet
Blimey thought it must have been longer but didn’t realise it was quite that long , Mind plays tricks in this investing Lark, A repeat of the 4 day doubling up of Sp would be nice again !! The US sentiment seems a lot more bullish tonight too.
Thanks chaps
Yes looks as if the bottom is now in and investors have just started to take their positions for the next major rise. The signs are all there now for the Nasdaq listing sometime in May.
Yeah, can we have another one of those 4 day rises again, maybe pause at £3.50 Ath?
after rising from the 60p back up to £1.40 in February, it then only took 4 trading days to jump to £3.40!!
when it goes, it goes :D
Her die
About 3 weeks
Moog,
Been thinking about that first retrace a fair bit today, Does anyone know how long it took from top £1.40ish to bottom was it .60p to then go back past the £1.40 mark ? Seemed like a couple of days at the time but must have been longer ?
Nice to have someone that can spell!
Reloaded six figures here today. Same tomorrow if oppo arises. GLA.
I am glad that the share price stabilised today. I think we'll move up over the next couple of weeks as some people who panic sold will be looking to get back in now that we're stabilising. Probably need to stick around this level for a few days first to reassure people it's not going to fall further.

Hopefully the worst is behind us from this storm but those of here longer remember the same happened to the price before from 160p to 80p in a shorter time scale
Remember price rises when demand grows and selling ceases so hold onto them shares guard them with your life your early retirement could sooner than you ever thought
