“ I wonder which part of the speculation is not true: the exact timing?”.
Just a guess, but Amazon developing its own coin seems overkill, since one of huge benefits of btc is its ubiquity. That is precisely what make it attractive to Twitters Jack Dorsey. The patently ludicrous suggestion that Amazon’s coin would be called “Bez”and the operating system “Bezos” were always credibility stretchers.
It made it easy for Amazon to issue its “denial”.
If Dorsey is telling JP Morgan that btc will be the universal, native currency of the internet, on top of all the moves by banks and EFTs into Bitcoin, it is inconceivable that Amazon are not preparing for its acceptance.
All IMHO.
Exactly.

"Notwithstanding our interest in the space, the speculation that has ensued around our specific plans for cryptocurrencies is not true.”
However, the spokesperson did not deny that Amazon is researching crypto payments, adding: “We remain focused on exploring what this could look like for customers shopping on Amazon.”

Amazon denied accepting Bitcoin
Hi Marsha, the article says Amazon has denied it so you didn't read it wrong. I agree, there are some very thin-skinned people on here so if you say anything that doesn't fit with the 'Boom' narrative you are likely to be attacked I'm afraid. I wouldn't include Eddie in that as to be fair I think it was reasonable to ask for the link as it wasn't obvious elsewhere and was well buried in the article itself. Others though were all too quick to leap in.
It really shouldn't be you doing the apologising. It should be the shameless rampers, de-rampers and anyone else not able to read a differing opinion without throwing accusations around or becoming offensive.
He didn't read it , he was watching Bloomsberg, read his reply!
Marsha , say what you find or predict , I have no problem with you breaking apparently now confirmed negative news regarding Amazon. I am an Arb holder and probably hold more shares than 70% on here. I too have been shot down by others on here when posting apparently negatively realistic predictions . I just bite my lip and skip past the £10 a share by December posts ............
No one spat the dummy, you were only asked to share what you read, nothing more, nothing less.
Rexam, while watching the close on Bloomberg it flashed up that amazon had denied they were accepting bitcoin.i only posted what I viewed. Maybe I read it wrong but it come across as that to me .I don't ramp or deramp . It seems if you post a comment on here that people spit the dummy out if they don't like what they hear. Like many on hear I'm £1000s of pounds down but I'll never ramp or deramp just trying to make a bob or two to add to my pension . apologize to anyone who I have offended .
@Hexam
Thanks mate it’s vastly more than the original message. Still not the original (not in denial) however massively more credible as a source.
Let’s be realistic BTC was under 30k a week ago let’s not get carried away , if we hold above 35k all is good for now , we all know it has to cool of a little before it goes back up ;)
Here is the report on Bloomberg cited by Marsha that "doesn't exist" which now says Amazon has denied the initial report of it accepting Bitcoin. In case this link isn't viewable (it's a subscription service) here is the relevant part.
"Citing a company “insider,” U.K. financial publication City A.M. reported that Amazon was planning to accept Bitcoin payments by the end of the year and introduce its own crypto coin in 2022.
The company denied the report."
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-07-26/amazon-job-posting-hints-at-plan-to-accept-cryptocurrency?srnd=cryptocurrencies
Personally I think Amazon will accept BTC in the nearish future but at the moment, like it or not, it is just speculation.

BTC hit the top on RSI. Purely tech that brings it back, will continue up and may well short squeeze more.
Hodl ARB in my SIPP & ISA is my game. Hope you've loaded on the lows. GLA
Bearing in mind the job advertisement was for real AND there is nothing in the news, that I can find other than https://finance.yahoo.com/news/bitcoin-surges-amid-short-covering-031129556.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAACN48g5cK3-ta3aznLjSnFRNRZ_VSIA1_MBSwps- ZBNCfhFY_6Kp702p0c55V37l2Hf8YWaoZ3gKMKdpR0hqSJYtXY9Seuf1e1UTjbWeX7eT9HrjRUWF6nAzMEZa6XvpoegS2kWhLYTPpuoQ9gIQ8kkYXBEVatV1rJYuow953xWs I think it is safe to say , FUD and utter rubbish. This time tomorrow?
Splatted another old school Invester in arb top man
@marsha
If you are reporting on a report from Bloomberg why not share the link. If you are an investor then you’ll know how easy FUD spreads so why not make your post credible by sharing the link……which is still to be seen.
Moving back up
Don't worry, they'll soon be a rumour denying the rumour that denied the rumour that Amazon will be accepting BTC.
I am neither a ramper or derampers , I'm a investor with 10,000 shares at 156 I just posted on a report on Bloomberg. Apologies if I've upset anyone.
Maybe take heed from your posts.

Nice to see someone with a constructive post
The weak reacting to FUD. As is said in most banter today, it never happened if there are no pic’s. Same with news. If Amazon didn’t say it, it wasn’t said. When they do (or not) then the truth will be known.
