This is what happens to people when they go on to other boards try to get under people’s skin on this occasion I’m so glad you lost money today hahahaha
Utter tool,
Humblepie good evening,
Have just checked your posting history. I think you should contact your ISP as it appears your account has been hacked.
Have a wonderful evening
RC
Hi RC. My pleasure. It has provoked some excellent and inciteful posts.
Interesting that many of the losses in our group have been in (non crypto) mining stocks. Digging an expensive hole in the ground and searching for 'treasure' appears to be the quickest way of waving goodbye to investors' money.
That's horrendous with the EIS lock in. :(
“ Bitcoin on the way down a % 41000 tomorrow morning”
That’s quite funny. If you think a small mini switch like 2% off is dropping you haven’t been in bitty very long!
You only have to try to understand the direction and the global uptake to know where this is going, and you’ll soon realise it’s just noise, and BTC will be hitting a new high very soon taking arb with it.
Thanks humble could I have this weekends lottery numbers please?
Really interesting read...
One of you guys mentioned motif bio.. yep I was in that.. fortunately only in for a few grand and left with a bit of it, but not much
SXX was the biggest heist ever.. the last placing at c.15.5 when the company was out off money and their friends at JPM apparently not helping .. well maybe AA! Dreadful
HUR was tragic. Took £10k and managed to turn it into £800. In a fit a ire sold and bought 1350 shares in arb now worth over 13k. So got it all back
Oh and the other 33,000 shares at ave of 20p helps.
Best ever.. if we could make it to £10 I won’t be a millionaire but I can retire!!!
The biggest return I know of is my colleague who purchased 100,000 shares for 3.5K and still holds the whole holding and he’s purchased some other ones at 10p which sold when they 35p. He’s not selling his 100,000 he says for at least £10 a share as he believes we will get FTSE250 and Nasdaq listing. I’ve been buying since 65p but traded them quite a lot too.
SR, I use HL
brilliant thread this RC.
i was fortunate enough to get in ARB at the IPO for 16p and still managing to sit on my hands through all the early bad months and more recently the tempting good months and still hold 100%, i still see this as a HODL for longer term benefit for my family.
as some others have mentioned, i also got stung with the Carillion demise and also a copper miner Cradle Arc which combined took me for 22K.
massive shout out and thanks to all the brilliant and well informed posters on this BB, you really have kept me on the Argonaught straight and narrow with your wisdom.
much appreciated.
I've bought and sold 60,000 at a time on HL. No indication that was anywhere near a limit.
88E ... enough said...
The biggest gain is ARB - I have already recovered my initial stakes. The worst loser, hence my slicing here was ANGM (gold) where I lost £x's back in 2012 when they went bust. I lost a more modest sum in DTZ more recently so I guess both these are 100% losers.
Albert - plenty of idiots. I haven’t been shy with the block button. Investing for a “few” years now.
Use to be on the ii boards a lot but kept away from the bs for a couple years.
Been enjoying reading yours, rc and a few other posters posts. Can figure who talks sense and who Dosent have a clue...
Some of you remind Me of a gentleman named HUB who was big on gkp back then. Really interesting poster he was and always correct somehow lol.
Keep up the good work - I’ll be here watching at the back lol.
Moon.
Joker, I think it's unwise to try to unload that many in one go as you would move the market. In my experience, you can shift 25k each trade and occasionally 50k, but any more than that and you will get a crap bid. Try a few dummy trades in various sizes and you'll see what I mean.
Mooney, welcome to the Argonauts.
We get the occasional wierdo on here trying to deramp, but when a share is this solid and so many people have been here for a while, this vibe is hard to beat.
Argo takes your virginity - love it! :-)))
Have been quietly watching this board since 6p - am invested here with a nice return so far. This has to be the most insightful & interest thread I’ve seen. Amazing. Worthy of taking my post virginity.
Enjoying every moment of this share

Joker, I've made no secret of the fact that I have sold quite a few. I sell a few at a time and have been doing so for quite a while. This gives me a good chance of getting the best price, but only on a few trades! No way in the world would I let my Broker trade for me.
My two worst afpo lost the lot! And kod been it years still 90% down and the sp has actually doubled lately lol
Thanks Barney, funnily enough quite a few of us have had bad advice over the years and now do all our own research. Brings to mind a recommendation to invest in an EIS which I did in 2015 - despite it being a 3 year lock in I still cannot get my money out. The opportunity cost is killing me!

RC
Great post RC!
By biggest loss came from my broker (Daniel Stewart) who put me into a so called "no brainer" called Concordia International, or something like that. 100% wipe out and £20,000 down the drain! Some of their clients lost £100k. The guy was fired and Daniel Stewart went pop in early 2019. I haven't trusted a broker since and now make my own investment decisions - which include buying and selling registration plates (no AR60's just yet)!!!
My biggest % and monetary gains is in Haydale Graphene at just under 500% (1.6p to 7.5p) thankfully made good the Concordia loses. I've reduced the rest of my holdings (which are pretty mixed) in order to fund my ARB addiction!! First bought at 92p but now averaging at £2.05 after one top heavy purchase and two more on the recent dips. No share I've owned has excited me more than ARB. Really pleased to be on this journey with my fellow argonauts. :)
