Looks like some bottom-feeding here in the low-200's. Some big buys went through earlier and I'd expect at least a technical bounce. Not a bad bet for a punt at this level IMHO.
The results were pretty much what was expected. Raising the dividend by 5% (it's 7.35p oogle - if you don't want the 0.35p I'll gladly have yours.) shows they are confident that is is a blip rather than a prolonged problem. The commentary on the current year trading is a bit more of a worry, as the demand seems to be weaker for longer.
As long as there is a demand for meat around the world ANP should remain profitable. But rising costs and lower demand (as end users are facing the same rising costs) means it's likely to be tough for some while to come. At current price PE is under 13, yield is approaching 5%, so it looks cheap, but markets are probably pricing in lower earnings. So I agree with Oogle - one to watch.

"Fairer price"? Maybe just less expensive but still expensive if growth has gone as the dividend yield can be matched with a term deposit without risk if you stay below the £85k bank guarantee.
Still paying 7p final dividend. Former fd transfers shares into ISA just a few weeks ago. Good example not to follow director share purchases. They are often more clueless about their own company than the punters. This has been rated as a biotech company which is probably unjustified, hence the premium and fall back to reality. The balance sheet looks ok and cash balance is reasonable. This looks like a fairer price but the outlook remains uncertain. One to watch for now
So, profits slashed, cash down, shareholders have lost their shirts etc but just feast your eyes on those ESG highlights!
When management describe their pellets as being 'natural' foods you should understand that they think you are stupid.
I did warn about catching the falling ANP knife a while back, hope nobody here is in too deep.
Anyone explain why sp has collapsed. At this valuation the predictions would seem VERY grim. Is Anpapio indded in such a desperate state ?
"Is that synthetic meat the same as Bill Gates synthetic meat that causes cancer in humans?"
I've heard/read quite a lot about it - the main term seems to be "cellular culture" - I've not heard any mention of Bill Gates. Jim Mellon is behind an Investment Trust called Agronomics which invests in this area.
Someone on Ian King Live was predicting it could be a $500b market within 10 years.
On the other hand ! Think I might wait for results in next couple of days before climbing aboard again
I see Karen Prior took the to switch £35k of stock into her ISA last month . May wish she left a little time lapse between trades but hardly the actions of someone who doesnt expect to make a tax sheltered gain. She is or was the FD. Thought she retired
On the other hand I cant agree that Anp would be finished. Dont know why people get so extreme. There is a balance to everything, and new discoveries can benefit all.
Did you know that eating meat can cause cancer particularly fatty and processed meat? Lab meat could be a far safer option. Free from growth hormones, free from pollution , and free from disease and blood contamination.
Is that synthetic meat the same as Bill Gates synthetic meat that causes cancer in humans? That crap is not replacing meat any time soon.. even ever!!
Sadly (from my perspective), you may be right.

Catching the falling knife is seldom an optimal strategy. I'm waiting for a reversal before buying and even then I'd like some tangible good news first. I can see 330p being hit in the next few weeks. GLA
Inevitably shown as a sell.

Just added at 378.

Sub 400 and I'll be in for a few more.

No wonder sp tanked after such a depressing report.
Should be helping
Have other people seen this Dutch company producing sausages from cells taken from pigs? It means no animals need be killed to produce the meat we are used to eating. The company are confident genuine steaks can be made this way, so all meat products could be made this way. Obviously if this does develop Anpario's business is finished.
what I don't know is how quickly this can be developed economically.
Anyone have any opinions?
Agree below 600p seems a bargain.
Not too bad considering various headwinds. Divi up which is a sign of confidence going forward. Might dip a further toe in tomorrow if sp remains below 600.

He sold his last shares at 610.

Don't understand last comment??
