Agree Mirasol . Unfortunately
""They owe it to shareholders "
yanis - this is AIM - the shareholders are of no importance to the BoD or their advisors except as a source of cash to keep their lifestyles going.
BOD share buying is a must. While its their personal decision , they owe it to the shareholders to inspire confidence and its great value. they should be putting their money where their mouth is without making song and dance about it. there is nothing wrong in backing your own company/employer. nobody is suggesting that they put the house on it.
Yanis. Thanks for the comment, this isn't about the money, it's a good will gesture and a confidence booster. GL said he needed to sell Angus again to the markets and shareholders, he should look closer to home first by involving more BOD members to take or increase their stake in the company. I'm sure most would agree that if this was to happen the SP would rerate to another level. My motto is, If you don't show confidence yourself , don't expect it from others.
BV, spot on. Some people just like to be constantly negative. Why? - I don’t know.
I don’t see how anybody can owe shares and constantly be negative. I could understand this earlier on, but now we can see some light at the end of the tunnel. Circumstances are changing and they deserve a chance to see how they pan out.
The BOD just got a hefty pay rise, the least they can do is try and boost confidence. They don’t have to put all they have in to buying Angus stock, nobody is asking for that and nobody is expecting it. All it is expected from them to do is invest a little from what they receive in this year’s pay rise in to buying some shares (and not every year, just now). This is a very reasonable expectation and they owe it to shareholders after the failures that we had.
Mirasol. According to GL's last interview Angus Energy is a pretty safe bet, what has Mr Hollis got to lose after Paddy's ÂŁ10k top up. It seems ok for shareholders to pay their salaries, but not good enough to install confidence from the technical leader of the company.
Most workers don't invest in their employers - they leave that to sophisticated investors like what you find on here :))).
They do a full days work and get a full days pay - that's the deal. They don't benefit from a rising stock price
I know people who invested in their employers and they lost the lot - job, pension, investment - when the company went bust
“maybe he doesn't want all his money on one horse?”
I just don’t see how he can put all his money on one horse, the horse is earning him money. He is the jokey that is riding the horse and getting paid for it? He should spend some money to ensure that the horse remains healthy.
What is it with all this negativity?
"He has to put his money where his mouth is, and not just receiving a salary"
I really don't see why . he's employed for technical things not pumping the stock so day traders can make a few pennies.
If he doesn't want to invest that is his decision only.
Its up to you how you read it - maybe he doesn't want all his money on one horse|?
Perhaps Mr Hollis considers this to high risk given his age? Although @ÂŁ120k a year wage he looks to be able to afford it!.
Possibly he is waiting for the committee decision on the sidetrack due on Monday?
Link for the planning permission committee meeting to be held this Monday the 26TH at 10.30 am. Will be live streamed by the look of it.

gkb. Exactly, the whole BOD rely on his so called 40 years gas and geological knowledge when replying to investor technical questions. He has to put his money where his mouth is, and not just receiving a salary like the ceo from the dark side!
Will we keep above 1p next time, the 99's should hopefully melt away shortly.
I think Andrew Hollis should buy because GL depends on his knowledge for the seismic and drilling techniques etc. If you are the company technical director you should show faith in your own ability, If not suspicions arise in the minds of other shareholders. If he is skint fair enough, but if not he should put his hand in his pocket like others.
Its hardly a fortune he's kicked in but at least he HAS done it - look over at UKOG for non-investing Directors.
I expect he's fairly happy the company will be around for another 12 months so not a big risk
BV, I think we are going to get another director buy RNS soon - I expect Carlos and George to buy and mash be Paddy will buy again. If Andrew doesn’t buy, then we should ask a question as to why.
Yanis. At least it shows that they read the posts. {come on Andrew put your money where your mouth is please] George, Paddy and Carlos have a stake,It's time you show good faith in Angus Energy.
BV, they will all be buying IMO, more director buys are coming.
Yanis. I see Paddy is averaging down LOL. It would show faith in the future company calculations if Andrew Hollis bought shares being our head geologist and technical director.
Some people never give up, always searching for negatives in absolutely everything.
Is only ÂŁ10K? Really?
The 1 mil purchase is good. He now has in excess of 4.5 million shares with most purchased at higher SPs - none was given to him free.
There are more director buys to come - sit back and enjoy the SP rerate … is going up leading to SFB install/start up, is the nature of the game. GLTA
