scallywag3: My wife is a very slim lady - so I won't tolerate that sort of language (besides, raising a smile takes effort these days (given I own ANGS) - let alone anything else)!?
ROTFL rxdav. Let me know when you have sold Angus, So I'll buy more. Ever thought of riding a Whale ?
Hi lejjb: I've tried trading - and whilst I can fix a roof as well if not better than the average Hungarian (and certainly better, or at least quicker than the two clowns next door) I'm hopeless at it. It's like I have some reciprocal unconscious reactions which make me buy when I should be selling - and vice versa. I actually understand everything in your post - so it's not that I'm thick - I'm just hopeless at trading. It's like when I was in the Forces - I was a brilliant shot (and I'm being serious here) with both a 9mm Browning pistol (standard issue then for Officers - Glock now I believe) and with an SLR 7.62mm rifle and the subsequent 5.56mm SA80 - but utterly, utterly hopeless with a shotgun (and believe me I tried - seemed the safest place was directly in front of me!!) - why? - it's totally counter intuitive?. Now some might think I use this analogy to subtly let Tids know that when I jest about the 9mm solution I really do know what I'm talking about - but of course I would never, ever do such a thing - honest!!
Finally, you're correct about AIM no longer (if it ever was) a place where you can invest (in the traditional sense). Trouble is, the bloody main markets are getting more and more 'AIM-like' - FTSE100/250/350 - where I have 80% plus of my investments - mainly via Investment Trusts (and I'm not the only one to comment on this either). I used to consider my 20% AIM money as a bit of a gamble - understatement or what!? I'm trying to get out of AIM totally (and I have reduced by 50% already - with no significant losses (or gains either)) - and I hope to be totally out by the end of this year (currently have ANGS, IOG and CERP remaining) - none of which look like going anywhere fast anytime soon - but I live in hope.
Notwithstanding the above, if you want your roof sorting - find a Hungarian (apparently) - but don't call me !!!

rxdav - Your posts have given me a laugh over the past few days, nice to see some humor on the board.
lejjb - Spot on... A good balance of TA and market research combined with a tailored trading strategy significantly reduces risk, something that I have also learned the hard way (specifically in AIM) and still is, a work in progress.
rxdav - well done doing your roof.
For the future, maybe you should trade more ruthlessly and make greater use of tech analysis for quick entries and exits, aiming for trades bringing you 5-20% profit (after fees, cost of spread etc.) max?
AIM is absolutely NOT the place for investments unfortunately... I learnt this the hard way myself.
Best wishes.
Crikey, it's just taken me half an hour to catch up on the posts since I descended that bloody ladder for the final time - you're a lot of busy bees today for sure. Now if the SP does keep rising (and it really does look possible at the moment - and trust me here, there is no greater cynic than me when it comes to ANGS) I'll take a hit for the team and go back up the ladder and stay up there until it gets to 10p (my abysmal average) - I doubt there's a correlation between the two but any LTH will recognise my desperate willingness to try just about anything to improve the situation (I've even tried throwing chicken's feet - but that didn't help either - sadly!).
Still awaiting a reply from Alan2017 - my great hope - and what an offer he's now been made eh!?
I promised myself a full tin of genuine Heinz beans when I finished the roof (to be paid for by forthcoming future ANGS dividends - honest!!) - so I'm going to have then now. The Aldi/Lidl beans are just not the real thing - but I love the price - such difficult decisions I have to make in my retirement eh? - but if you're serious about being a tight arse you have it to do I reckon?
At least I've won't have the piss taken out of me mercilessly henceforth by next doors roofers having an endless crack at the cycling helmet my good lady insisted I wear. I've now set up a camera trained at the job they are doing - they asked why and of course I told them it was to capture the moment one of them fell off - so I could replay it over and over as sweet revenge for the merciless mick taking (but really it's to see how they can take sooooooooooo long (two of them) to do less than on old git like me has done (on my Jack Jones) in two days. I'm them going to analyse it and send the subsequent results to ANGS BoD as a blueprint of how not to do it (any more that is)!?
