Was talking to mate on zoom and he showed me video of the DBX that’s coming out this Summer. What a lovely car and the order book is reported to be strong.
Guys and ladies....
Thank you for input about my question of footprint ....
It could be anything ....... better to wait to find out and I agreed about Welsh Assem.
Great confidence is a understatement with £37m on the line.
Toto could just be in for the financial gain but all the Mercedes connections seem to be pointing to something. The problem is we don’t know what that something is.
Regardless whatever it is we will win at this point.
Well toto was invested in Williams at one point so it is not uncommon for him to invest for financial oro ther reasons other than be wise he will be moving to that team.
I think it gives great xonfidence to it as he isn't in it to lose 37m!
What is the Toto Wolff effect here? He seems to be quite the shrewd businessman, his investment here along with Stroll must bring along strong level of confidence. Plus he said in a Sky Sports F1 interview 2 days ago that his Aston Martin interest was all 'financial' rather than racing.
This could be the only option. Move the whole operation to Wales.
I find this unlikely however and definitely not in the short term. It would involve massive costs initially but would be recouped by the sale.
This is not the time, biggest cost is always the people hence the redundancies. Just run the plant with less people and be more efficient.
The footprint may be a metaphor for reducing the unnecessary departments (boat design) as well as generally trimming the fat to be more profitable.
US unemployment way better than expect. Hopefully everything will surge this afternoon.
The factory is currently tooled up for the DBX and was built to cope with future demand, so is bigger than needed! - This has allowed staff to return to work and maintain social distancing laws in Wales. I think there could be an option to move all production here, and Welsh Goverment would be keen to support jobs and growth in the market - so one to watch!
Maybe you should have kept a closer eye on things @mattcarter and you easily could be over 100% up right now ;o)
The reward/risk for this SP is HUGELY positive IMHO.
The likely curveball is AML going private or being bought out (Daimler?).... in which case we'd still win!
I read somewhere that the factory in Wales was heavily subsidised by the Welsh government. They've only just kitted it out, and it has spare capacity. No way they'd offload that!
I completely agree with you after I have put some posts and no responded!!,! Evenly trying help some by re setting the stop loss on AGM (hope they did)
Will ask you couples of Q’s tomorrow after walking with wife and dog.
Gotta go to work.
Noahs Ark, they won’t be getting rid of Wales factory, more likely to move all production there if anything!
Dream,
Agreed and I wonder who (which building) will be sold off ? ( this weekend I’m going find out who is own old building in Wales) because AGM say reduce FOOTPRINT so not sure about reduced spaces or sell off either brand new or old building if AML own the property?
I will discuss this over weekend as it ideal to talk when the SP is frozen.
I dropped my investment in AML a couple of months ago. I really feared the worse, lucky escape you may say. But now, I can see some light at the end of the tunnel, but the worry is that it is a train rather than the prospect of daylight. I'm staying out for now, plenty of time to catch the ride on the way up if the fundamentals show it a worthwhile <1% of one's portfolio.
I'm not making any big up predictions today; US NFP may make a dent across all indices, which would impact momentum on AML. I'd be more than happy with a close around this range to be honest.
We will see a strong rise again... It will be just before 2pm.. and climb up towards the US open at half 2.
This finish above 80p today.. possibly 82p in last minute auction..
All to stay positive and hold to make good gains. This is long term and rising quickly and more good news on the horizon.
Good luck all
What a crazy morning, wonder if we will see a steady rise this afternoon
Vettel would never 'demean himself' to go to what is fundamentally an over performing midfield team.
Mercedes though I think likely.
And I wouldn't be totally sure that Stroll isn't working his way in there....
Another cheeky £10k in the dip, there's lovely.
Cheeky tree shake! And on we go...
Was any of you the 100k buy
