Interesting (I understand you have connections background of F1) ... I recall he tried but Williams then recently Renault.... both occasions went nothing.... perhaps Williams was (lack of good team (not driver) ) and Renault I wouldn’t surprise it pricey compared where Renault are in position.
If it true, then it is Aston Martin brand in Mercedes team or Stroll pull out altogether? ....
Apart from the share dilution, I thought the institutional shorters' helped drive the price down more than anything?
These guys are all heavyweights and all in on it. We have to make the assumption that all was going to plan and they knew what they were doing when they effectively walked the share price down to 30p. They wanted the share price low to put the next stage of the plan into place. What they didn’t expect was the share price to go back up through us guys piling in! They had to get the share price back down again and have done this by a combination of absolutely no news and another dilution?
Does this make sense? They want to drive the share price back down to do what?
Lagonda sends tingles where Prius did not
Political....secret weapon...yes.......gotta keep the greens happy........
Lagonda is the secret weapon
My opinion is Stroll can not turn AML around with out backing.....know how...... from MB or Geely.......
I think its predestined.....this will happen........
I think if .......MB take over ...in future.....Lagonda badge ...will be .......AML EV sports version...........based on AMG EV platforms....components...but with AML styling,,,,,,,,,for different customers..........politics....emissions...etc.....
etc....but AML styling,,,,,,,,,
3) Toto Wolff
I think..... for Stroll its about F1...firstly.........................secondly making money........
if stroll sells Racing Point to Dmitry Mazepin........and Stroll ends up with Mercedes F1 team which will then be renamed Aston Martin.........because MB take control of AML....
then what we see ...now on media of Wolff saying he not leaving Mercedes.....could " technically " be true......because he still works for MB........if MB take over AML....
and at the time of saying "I will not play an active role at AML, neither in the management of the company and certainly not in the F1 team."....is before a take over....
so again "technically" could be true............................just a thought......
Ok how about looking the whole saga from a completely different angle.
Before Lawrence Stroll and his team effectively took over AML they had a plan.
Covid was with us and the share price had tumbled so he obviously knew about that and got it cheap. The second dilution was planned IMO by him and his team even before the first.
So the million dollar question is why? It’s not just about raising funds he’s got plenty of access to £.
What are the possible motives?
Let’s make a list of possible outcomes I will go first.
1) His plan is completely legitimate and he wishes to turn AML round and make it profitable.
Another rumour into the mix.... Stroll selling Racing Point to Mazepin's (F2 driver) billionaire dad....
If Stroll was looking to take private he would have done it at 28p, or before issuing massive volumes of shares, rather than wanting a lower price to do that now.
I think the only certainty right now is that nobody knows what the next steps will be, and yes, the uncertainty will continue, but that’s why there’s the risk and potential reward. As they say, the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward or the bigger the loss. Everyone has put their own value on AML, and everyone will have their target to get out, so for sure the next weeks will be an exciting ride. Throw into the current uncertainty Brexit, potential Covid second wave and US/China unrest and that’s when it all starts to get very interesting. Crazy times, but that’s when opportunity is the strongest!
I have to agree that I too have no idea what Stroll is up to.
However, I do think that it will come good – I just do not know the time frames!
I have no way as much as you have riding on this, but as with everyone, I wish them all well, and hope that we all get something out of it.
With regards to going private, I can see the rationale of driving the share price down, and then it should cost less to buy out the shareholders. I do not know if this is the case though. From previous inputs on other threads, this would be based to an extent on prices over 12 months (but I do not know enough myself, and have not researched the matter).
Takeover? Again, if that were to happen, we just need to see what it is in it for some individuals who have bought in apparently at higher prices than the placing etc. Or am I being simplistic and naïve?
With regards to another dilution, again, only the ones in the know will be privy to this, and then the question will be whether the placing is higher or lower (I am sure there was a game show with this premise, where you could win or lose!!!)
The thing that still resonates with me is the fact that there are many individuals / organisations involved with AML now, who are not used to losing money or reputation. Surely there are here for a reason!
I do not understand waves / candles / crystal balls etc., but I am sticking with what I have and hope to see a rise in value over time.
If the price drops for any of the above reasons mentioned (private or placing), then if I was big investor friend of Mr Stroll, I would be worried, unless I knew the bigger picture. I do not see Toto or the others just helping another rich man to achieve his aims. If they start pulling out, then the whole scenario takes a turn…
If this is just to get Stroll Jr into F1 big time, then he is a very loving father!
Not sure this helps, but I am probably as confused as everyone!!!
SXX an absolute lesson
For once was a clever friend who lost money, not me
3300 - TBH I have no idea what Stroll is or not capable of. But when I am heavily invested in something I want to think of every scenario. I am not a day trader I just prefer leaving my cash on something that has a high probability of a higher return which is why I am here. During this whole covid19 era I haven't felt too comfortable in leaving my money on something I have no idea about, at least with AML I have some connection and can understand the people and product. The numbers and the corporate direction is the harder one to get understand.
I just want the boards experienced view of what the implications are should he want to take it private. I do not know what his relationship is like with the chaps from the middle east , but are they proactively involved or are they just the piggy bank? does he want them out? is he greedy and just wants it all to himself? Lance to be honest looks like a good enough kid but he hasn't shown any signs of brilliance and lets be honest, if you had a choice of Vettel, Alonso, maybe Lewis, would you pick your son over these guys to race in your team? or maybe you will tag him up with one of the greats to help his experience, that’s what I would do I think. His team next year has to be a success if he wants to take AML to where I think we wants to take it. Plus these billionaires love the Monaco life, that’s where deals are done and where you show people that your yacht is bigger than your mates. But again keeping to business, what are the reasons to take it private, I can only see the main reason being when you think you’re on a gold mine and you want to keep the gold to yourself. What does this mean? what are the implications? I was reading something about Sirius Minerals SXX?
The whole DAI connection is also interesting and I think your right about Ola Kallenius, check out the interview with David Rubenstein a few months ago. He certainty makes a point about Tesla and their Market Cap, and I honestly haven't followed the whole electric thing too well, but must be where we are going. Maybe that’s why they shoved Nico Rosberg to keep the marketing up with the whole E side of things...saying that he believes F1 and Electric will merge one day. Not sure how many of you follow Merc Amg on Instagram etc.
I am just trying to frantically joins the dots as I currently hold close to a million shares of AML and I really am considering doubling my holding should it reach 40 this month. The speculators or derampers that say this is going bust to me cannot make sense right now. Later who knows but right now we are on a train and it isn’t hitting no wall. It maybe going down and then shooting back up the question is how long do you stay on the train for before jumping off. Anyone that says they are willing to leave their cash on this stock for 24 months or more either knows something we don’t or has a carbon fibre sack.
Thinking Stroll would not deliberately F us over again? Or am I giving him too much credit? Surely he also thinks of his legacy? And his son, who though extremely talented appears a little nervous? Lance should not be nervous, he should believe in himself. We watch and wait.
Nice thread this morning, I was actually thinking about something last night ,,,,,I know we are talking about the prospects of a takeover, what’s everyone’s thoughts on Stroll actually manipulating the stock price by these dilutions, maybe even another one around the corner, getting his crew to buy as much as possible, reduces the price to a point that then allows him to take the company private. He takes 50% of the firm, either then pushes for a takeover or even maybe get in line for a second IPO but this time done properly with Stroll and his mates ready to rake billions?
If it does go private do the private investors like us get paid for our shares? I remember WG going on about something last week….
Also I went through the whole 12 months of this board last night and found it very interesting, lots more people watching this than I thought....were are the old timers ! ShouldWeNotKnow / AA05 / Deltalo / Dom-Bella ??? anyone
Spot on Frank.
The 45p to 60P band is no good to me, either.
Below to top up, above to break even.
Loving your thought of £5!!
I am deaf I mean real deaf use sign.
Very well written mate, in all honesty I would be expecting a take over sooner rather than later if it was going to happen, certainly the announcement anyway. In the world of F1 when someone says "No, that certainly is not going ot happen" to the media, it increases the chances of that said thing happening ten fold.
I just hope it doesn't happen before the 29th of July when I intend to pick up a few more shares (expecting the SP to drop) on the other hand if I miss that boat then I just hope the price is over 64p to break even and over £5 just for the hell of it so I can buy my car lol
Thought you said you a little deaf? Zero offence intended, obvs!
