@NoahsArk, what's your point re Zelon, Permian etc?

This looks like a new DBX advert that has popped up on my phone.
Absolutely Jack. All good managers have an edge to them, they have to. If they are too nice they don't make the tough decisions and that's when things are allowed to continue at second best and things dont get done. We don't want that!! Thankfully that isn't what we've got, there's no way TM could have got so much done in 9 months without being extremely tough. He came to us with a reputation and he's living up to it 100%.
The author supposes there may be discontent in the design team because of moers suggesting there is room for improvement in terms of astons interiors... There may be. I'm sure they're all professionals though. The new boss is setting the bar higher. If that disgruntles you rather than inspire you then you're probably not cut out for working at the top of your field.
If you're standing still then you're falling behind. As a shareholder you have to love the ambition. I'd rather he spoke out where he hopes to make improvements rather than keep it hush to save the designers feelings. Obviously their is a balance to be had in terms of man management. I have no doubt moers is the man for the job. Hopefully with time he can recruit more and more quality people around himself
As Vorloch says, Moers has to make tough decisions. One of those is recent redundancies, so not everyone is going to like him, but what is important is respect, which I am sure he'll earn in bucket loads if he hasn't done so already, as the staff start to see all the benefits from the changes he has implemented.
Making tough decisions isn’t always popular, but they need to be made and this is the right man for that job.
It says he "opened the doors to his firm’s Gaydon HQ last week " so that would explain this slew of similar articles.
This is the first of these articles to paint TM in anything like a negative light. I wonder if the writer asked some silly question and got a terse response.
Heres another artical, he's been a busy boy! https://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1079185524?-37340:9077
Great links and information, thanks for posting TinyPie and Carpy.
Looking forward to see the results of the 30-40% cost savings, which has enabled spending on product launches and new infotainment system with Aston Martin user interface and a unique Aston Martin back end that will debut with each model's refresh DBS, DB11 and Vantage.
I don’t believe anyone else could have made such a big impact over 9 months.
Keep up the good work Tobias.... thumbs up.
NoahsArk, glad to see you back on here. Always very informative.
C26, 13.28pm.
Pffffff, bond bond bond .......
Go research who own the Zelon holding, Permian Investment Partners ..... etc....
Go SWFI SITE and read about Zelon Holding (if you can find it DYOR)
By the way, Hi to those who genuine LTH holder.
You’re most welcome Tony.
We all look each day lol.
Afraid I have bottled it with all the news at the moment. 1200 shares and teh aveage was 10.87 so not a bad year. Good luck to all.
Hi Tony,
I don’t post too often. My take on that ID is that they want you to doubt your investment. Either to short or free up shares.
Nobody who actually invests questions the negatives all the time. It is purely to make you think twice. Also this account has changed it tune slightly at times. Again this is to invite you in, then more negative comments follow so you believe them. We can all state facts and take a different point of view.
Forget what they say, these boards do influence decision making, why else would you spend time writing day in day out.
Trust only one person as to why you invested, research and keep faith in your decision.
Dave
Doyezee. I was typing at the same time as you (I'm painfully slow lol). Anyway, I've said pretty similar to you, we're definitely singing from the same hymn sheet. :-))
I agree C26 that the debt is what is going to hold us back, but as we drive up sales and the ASP we will surely be able to renegotiate the debt for a substantially reduced interest rate. We also know that Stroll and Moers forecast conservative targets and Moers mentions aiming for 10 - 12000 sales in one of today's articles. If achieved, an extra 2000 sales will make a big difference in paying off that debt. I dont believe that Tobias Moers would take on this challenge at such a late time in his career if he wasn't confident he could achieve it. Why risk his exemplary reputation on what will probably be the concluding part of his career? You've said it yourself..."he's the best man for the job" and he absolutely exudes confidence. You just need to get on board and share some of his confidence.
I am also of the opinion that managements forward looking approach will be to under commit and over achieve.
C26, I have not drilled down on the numbers but if it was so simple as to say that if AML gets to where Stroll’s targeting in 2025 (£2 billion revenue and adjusted earnings of £500 million before interest, tax etc.) on selling 10,000 units whilst incorporating debt payments too and the numbers just don’t add up, it will be relatively simple for accountants and more professional investors to see the ‘failings’ of the business plan don’t you think? If is this case, surely all the big hitters that have invested in AML would not have done so when this plan was announced in October last year? Once the company’s continued transition improves further, I wholly expect the debt itself to be refinanced at a much better percentage rate than it is now as the business itself will become less ‘risky’
I agree, Moers is the best man for the job here, couldn't think of anyone I would rather have. That was never in doubt.
My point is, even selling 10,000 cars per year is still not enough to pay the interest on the bonds never mind actually pay back the bonds in 2025.
Undeniable to dispute we don’t have the best at the helm!!! You know what I was getting at lol!!!!! ;-)))
As you and others have said Carpy, the foundation, strength and belief in AML is heavily dependent on those now steering the ship and it is undeniable (though I’m sure C26 will find a way!!) to suggest that we have some of the very best at the helm. It was simply upon hearing of Moers’ appointment that got me to invest in AML. I did no research at that time and didn’t even know Stroll had taken over!! Sometimes, gut instinct is all that is needed :-))))
Well Tiny, I finally found time to read all the Moers articles you posted earlier, 6 from you and 1 from me...he certainly has been a busy chap! He is definitely turning the ship around and you can feel his positivity jumping out at you! Just a few of the many things he said that stood out for me were as follows:-
Article 1 - "It's about the people at Aston Martin -to get their belief back"
Article 2 - "Ferrari makes a profit from 6k car sales"
Article3 - "Expect a faster version of the combustion DBX in with a good shout of proving itself the fastest SUV on th Nurburgring"
Moers mentioned in more than one article, that he was building strong teamwork which I believe is vitally important in any organisation. He talked over and over again about efficiencies via Horizon, which the company is probably only just starting to reap the benefits from. And he made a point of stating that Ferrari start making a profit at 6000 car sales and by making that point he obviously thinks that in time, we can do likewise. He definitely thinks our mid-engine cars can be competitive against Ferrari too!
Great articles from Moers and this is why we are invested in AML. If you still don't have faith, or the patience to wait for the plan to work, you need to think about moving your money elsewhere IMO.
And another great article from Moers.

Quote "We are in the middle of a facelift for vantage, DB11 and DBA we are an engineerinering excercise to bring these cars to life on a new level".
This is the future of Aston that us LTHs are talking about.
