Evening all
Been busy this weekend so not been on here much
If it goes to £1 plus I have had nice cars mostly BM’s but this is an early retirement present for me worked for 48 years so this will be special time for me and her indoors GLTA
Actually will upgrade to a newer Q7
£1 will get me a Nissan Leaf Haha
Yep, they're an awesome drive, love them.
Other great driving highlights - original 3.2 NSX manual, Esprit SE Turbo High Tail, 911 Turbo. All great on track or road. Not the best cars, but the most memorable.
The Westfield would have held it's own with any of them on a twisty track though....for a fraction of the cost!
Yep they’re the most bang for buck to own.
I’ve driven loads of different super cars on track days although they never let you drive them properly but the best one of the lot was a Nissan GTR believe it or not. Literally like driving a space ship it cruised past everything else.
Frank, know what you mean. I built a Westfield 28 years ago and it was huge fun for the money, a rocket ship!! Stupidly sold it ten years ago and have tried to track her down for the last two years, without any luck. Want it back for my son and I to spend some time on, but just can't find it. Still registered, but SORN. I have advert alerts on all the usual sites, but she's never come up for sale. Need to find me a helpful copper.....
Just to put fast expensive cars into perspective.
I used to own a Tiger CatE1, cost me £5k, very very few super cars could keep up with me or any of the Caterhams that we’re flying past me. Various track days around the country.
Yes driver skill obviously a factor
Yes I would rather be in a £100k car than my old Tiger lol ;)
Just some perspective.
Ah, that’s brilliant, and you’ve never forgot it either!
It’s a great attitude to have :)
You could be right.....
Love people like that, the value of the car is just relative and they like people getting enjoyment from it.
Remember a friend of my father's throwing me the keys to his brand new XJS when I was just 14 and asking me to move it to the back of the house and clean it. My dad nearly choked on his beer!!
If it hits £1 I am 10% up in my savings for my new car lol
RBM,
Funniest thing was, he was rather taken with a Smart car in the car park and ended up taking it for a drive (he just loves cars!). Left his keys and pretty much everyone there went and had I sit in/photo with it. He didn’t give a monkeys ;)
I think the Vanquish is as good as purchased lol
Love it, a proper petrolhead wedding!!
Might take a run over at some point, looks a great set up.
Next on the list for me is an original Vanquish though, I'm almost talking myself into it!! lol
However, not sure I'll get full support from 'she who must be obeyed'.....will try and sell it in as an investment!!
RBM, You should visit, he’s a top guy.
He’s had some beautiful motors in there. He’s on his third Vulcan and that DB4 is something else. I have a thing for the Zagato though, what a car!
He came to my wedding in his Bugatti Veyron and when we got the wedding photos back, let’s just say the happy couple weren’t the main feature lol
Phil, I spend many an hour drooling over their site, always a great stable of cars!!
The more I see original Vanquish at c.£70K, the more they look like the clever AM investment. Brutal looking car.
What a great 'back catalogue' AML have, they've produced some stunning cars over the years....
God damn you peoples got all the monies !
Always helps to spell it correctly ;)

If l lived is the med I’d have the convertible but saying that you lose the sexy roof line and classic Aston body shape that is so iconic..
Got a friend who has a black on black limted edition Vantage V8S convertible that he's about to sell. Low mileage and a stunning wee thing. All the Aston you'd ever need and plenty cash left over.....
I’ll need the sp to be £1.50/£1.60 for the DBS, would be a great treat to have one In my garage by this Christmas if the sp is good to us in the coming weeks!
Yep, another beauty. Trick with Astons is to try and buy rare, you'll then enjoy a great car AND see a healthy return on it.
Nice idea, I’ve a friend with one of them.. I need an Aston with a 07 plate or ideally an 09 for my private number plate to work. Dream car is the manual v12 DBS In Black
RRR, get something truly special and a future classic. Original Vanquish still available for bargain prices.
Rare, proper Bond car, great investment compared to any Vantage.

Anything between 0.90/£1.00 that puts me in the driving seat of a 4.7s vantage, £1.20/£1.50 put me in a v12s Vantage :-) expecting great thinks with AML as I think the DBX will be the making of us all!
