What a race, usually Hungary in the dry can be a bit boring, but the Bernie sprinklers must still be working because that was just what this race needed! Brilliant 2nd place for Vettel and Aston Martin although, I’d hoped it would be a first win under the new name.
Shame about the fuel sample issue, hope he somehow keeps his second place.
There's too much arguing on this site without us starting about advertising. It's happening and nothing we can do about it.
On a lighter note...with Lance at 12th on the grid with a free tyre choice, and Seb at 10th, I think we have a good chance of getting both drivers in the points this afternoon. With us just 1 point behind Alphatauri, this is a great opportunity for us to move up to 5th in the constructors championship. Enjoy the racing if you're watching it :-))
Chat...Am I missing the point I don't know? I know nothing about rap music because I don't listen to it and I'm not interested in that type of music, but I have nothing against it or the people that perform or listen to it. I haven't even listened to this hit from start to finish, all I'm saying is it's reaching out to a lot of younger people and changing the way they view our cars instead of them thinking they are just for older people. Is that such a bad thing? I try my best to treat all people the same regardless of sex, age, ethnicity, education, employment etc, providing they are not a criminal. The way I see rap music is it is just a type of music that millions of young people are into. Just like millions of young people were into punk rock and scar music back in my day, but that didnt make us all criminals.
Honestly, this conversation has gone a bit loopy. How can rappers dancing on cars present a bad image for the brand? When Chris Harris is doing donuts in a new Aston for Top Gear, does that promote reckless driving?
Are you the sort of person that wants to blame video games (e.g. grand theft auto) for gun violence and crime amongst the youth. But then completely misses that 7/10 U.S. movies have guns in them and even billboards around our country promote these films with guns in the imagery - seen by kids?!
Time to grow up people, this IS my type of music, I grew up on Garage, Grime and support Drill and U.K. Rap. If you don’t like it, switch the channel. And I eep your criticism in check because when the next Bond movie comes out and James is shooting rockets out of a DBX, I bet you won’t be complaining, will you?
I know some of you don't want to hear this, but this single has now gone to number 2 in the singles charts. Like it or not, an awful lot of the younger generation are viewing this video. Not my thing either, but you know what they say..."no publicity is bad publicity". As Nelladrahcir so eloquently put it...Embrace, engage and enjoy.

Not worried about badges being stolen., I am worried about my actions if I caught someone climbing over my classic alloy bodied Aston. I agree that marketing is assential in finding new markets, but this should be done with a bit of consideration for potential consequences. Just think how many potential buyers they could lose if cars get a reputation for unnecessary body damage.
I just cannot understand why AML have sanctioned this video. Does anyone remember the Beastie Boys rap band of the 1980's. They wore VW badges around their knecks on large chains. This led to a massive surge in fans of the band stealing thousands of VW badges from cars causing damage and to car and leaving people out of pocket for repairs and replacement. The current obsession for people taking selfies will undoubtedly lead to fans of Santan Dave and Stormzy, climbing on cars causing unnecessary damage and stress.

H1 2021:
3000 car sales
£500m revenue
£50m EBITDA.
Stroll's target:
10000 car sales
£2000m revenue
£500 EBITDA
"I don't know what that means in terms of sales and profit etc..."
You might gain some credibility if you did know.
H1 2021 Stroll's target
3000 car sales 10000 car sales
£500m revenue £2000m revenue
£50m EBITDA. £500 EBITDA
So 3x the number of cars sold is going to quadruple the revenue (actually possible) and 10x EBITDA? Hahaha, Stroll's numbers are no better than yours Jack.
Ferrari revenue in 2020 was £3.4 BILLION and AML are burned through £60m cash in H1 2021 after all Moers' cost cutting.
£25k from every car sold by AML goes on bond interest.
I agree that the SP could eventually go over £100 Jack, I just think it may take more than £500m EBITDA and we might need to be debt free so its going to take time. At the end of the day, that's why I'm invested though, because I see us being comparable with ferrari in the future and that includes the SP. Ferrari only sell about 10000 units a year, which we could easily get to with the new cars that are in the pipeline and our excellent marketing. F1 will bring in lots of new customers and I think the rap video by Santan Dave and Stormzy is genius for attracting new customers from the younger generations. At the moment, a big difference between ferrari and us is the average selling price of the cars, theirs being far higher, with much higher profit margins. No reason why we can't get there though...ASP will be driven up massively with mid engine cars and TM is driving efficiencies via Project Horizon which will increase profit margins. I know people get bored of me saying this, but we are on a very long road with lots of potholes along the way. But the treasure is waiting at the end of it. I'm no expert of course, these are just my honest opinions :-))
His long term target is to make Aston the British ferrari. Build the brand all over the world. Brand brand brand.
Ferrari market cap 30bn
Aston current Market cap 2bn
To achieve strolls SP "target" of £100 we'd need to improve the value of the company by x5.
So Aston Martin target market cap of 10bn
I don't know what that means in terms of sales and profit etc... But do I think long term Aston could be made to be only 1/3 the size of ferrari....?
Absolutely
Brand brand brand
You're right Vorloch, Adeem is just a repeat of II and they should be out during this quarter. That will allow us to rise in Q4 as you say, possibly with a jump when year end figures come in. We just need to be patient. Merciaman's post was interesting too, I agree that £100 SP may be optimistic based on £500m EBITDA, but that isn't the end game, it is just Stroll's mid term target which incidentally, he will be expecting to exceed. Who knows what his targets are beyond 2025?!
Frustrating I agree, but we had similar issues last year with Investindustrial as this year with Adeem.
I am hopeful that this quarter we will see some positive movement as we did in Q4 in 2020. We have seen Director & City buying over the past couple of months which adds confidence. But as Carpy said… who knows.
Good luck CJ
Canada John. Does anybody know what's going on? I doubt it. I was discussing exactly the same thing an hour ago with my son who also holds AML shares but doesnt post on here. We think exactly what you have just said...market makers are tempting people in again and then when it rises to a certain point they'll sell a load of Adeem shares and back down we go. The trouble is we may be wrong, you may sell a chunk only to find that the SP keeps rising cos Adeem have finally sold up. We won't be selling any, too risky and too stressful but I know that many do and are very successful. Good luck with whatever you decide.
I thought the results were a small step in the right direction. I think we all know the end point is some years away, and that the company has to 1) increase the number of cars it sells, 2) deliver direct cost saving through better procurement, and 3) improve the productivity so that opex per car produced reduces. The right noises are being made, lots of sensible things seem to be in progress, but really it's too early to be either very confident or severely disheartened.
The other questions in my mind are - if AML get to 10,000 cars sold, £2bn sales, £500m EBITDA in 2024/25, what does that mean for profit - £100 to £125 million ? And what p/e is it sensible to apply to get to a share price target in 4 years ? If that profit figure is realistic you'd need a very smoky p/e ratio applied to hit Stroll's £100 per share number (£5 x 20 share consolidation).
Off topic I know and don't get me wrong......more than happy to see 2000 today. But please help me out here. I thought the results were positive, nothing fantastic but strong and steady and more importantly a statement of intent that the current plan and team are 100% delivering. The narrative has been hyjaked in the past by trolls and oxygen theifs since March 2020 (we all know whom I refer too). With the positive results I was expecting a positive lift post results but no we actually slipped a little. Now to my point why the sudden surge to 2000. Nothing has changed, we are still on course steady as she goes. Ppl will comment arden still selling but they've been selling for month and SP down to 1750's maybe as a result. And I'm sure they've still got a chunk of shares. Are the MM managing the SP in the same way they almost certainly did when it hit 2200. Possibly to stimulate more interest for.the recent small dilution. If so I will taking a big chunk out this time to catch them at their own game. Interested in your opinions. Any banging on about debt and interest don't bother and c24 is blocked to me so don't wast the keyboard time.
Not my thing either! But 8.2 million views in two weeks by future Aston Owners. I’m not complaining. Brand will be everything as we approach the EV apocalypse and will be our differentiator.
Chris Harris driving the Vulcan for top gear is one of the top viewed Aston Martin videos on YouTube and that has 6million views… in 6 years.
I know this video has been included before. It's not really my sort of thing though its not bad as far as rap goes lol. Let's hope it's a huge hit...it will be great advertising for the younger clientele.
