Yup... but heavily weighted towards brand loyalty. How many of the 2500 DBX already sold are to new customers who haven’t already owned an Aston? I’d wager close to zero... at this point.
Paul,,Yeap it’s all about brand loyalty, also factor in people aspiring to Own a Icon brand,
EVERY Aston Martin brand lover will want one in their drive. If they have a Vantage, DB11 etc in the drive for 80% it’s just a case of when, not if, they have a DBX alongside. It’s how this works..... most clearly demonstrated by lamborghini. I’ve met hundreds of Urus owners through the events I do with them.... the vast vast majority have been buying their cars for many years before.
To wrap this up,,, why do DBX sell in the 1,000’s , same as Range Rovers did, then Porsche,, Now it’s I have a Aston Martin, who wouldn’t want to say that.... Brilliant move by the Best British brand...
Surely this will put FTSE in a good mood?
U.K. pledges billions to get U.K. economy blooming again? Boris will be official announcement Tuesday but this should see FTSE rise surely?

Hit the mail on the head CC, this isn’t all about debt ratios etc, the bigger picture is Brand and management , let CV 19 era pass and AML will be a world luxury brand leader, it’s all about some one walking into a restaurant and saying “who’s is that Aston Martin outside” who ever owns one, will feel like a million dollars, pound, euro, Etc , One word CLASS
I don’t really get involved in the politics on here and I will try to keep it that way. Let’s stay constructive.
Picking up on a point earlier, the DB5 bond car has been a success. They had already done a DB4 continuation series a couple of years ago.
It is difficult to know what the profit margin is but I can tell you that to do a ground up rebuild using new manufactured parts would be close to £500k so that would probably be a good estimate.
So assuming a run of 25 at £3 mil that would be £62.5 mil profit. This is likely something that will continue in the coming years.
These projects are done at the old factory at Newport Pagnel. The same place they used to beat the panels into shape up until the early 90’s.
Just another example of the strength of the brand and the value that can be leveraged from many different avenues moving forward.
Have a great Sunday everyone and short of a FTSE meltdown on Monday I think we will see a nice bump.
Jjt... In reality it won’t change things, my business exports to EU and Asia Pacific area, bit more paperwork, if customers want the product, they will buy it, AML is a high value brand and clients will pay the extra if that’s the case, There is a inherent snobbery with owning a Aston, target market is high end, long story short, No real effect IMOV
Ahh.. Brexit. Jjt 23.00. Time you had a chill pill.
and ...Brexit........how will that affect AML....
Golfer, totally agree, British brands all now have a really great chance to stamp the Quality products that me make, AML, JLR, BENTLEY,RR,JCB etc, People in the end won’t look as cost as a driving factor when buying, Buy cheap buy twice
Well said Chrisalfa. Lot's of people here like the sound of their own voice. If you dare to comment .....A few knowledgeable but a lot of empty vessels.
UK quality far outweighs any minor cost difference from China etc,,this more so than ever, I supply into the Automotive sector, there is a general shift from the reliance on Far East products, CV19 has highlighted this, Aml S Wales is in full production, They will work on JIT but if there supply chain in Asia is still struggling then that could hinder production, UK has the same facilities, it makes business sense to bring the supply chain nearer
so...whays the best way to fix things......
No anger at all just speaking my mind, I am a British manufacturer and we need to get behind the UK manufacturing base as that’s what we are brilliant at. Too may Brand bashers on here,
Thanks for adding to the constructive input tho.... #irony
so why the anger.................
Been on here for a few months, for a while it was really informative, now it’s descended into a load of utter ******,
AML is an iconic British Brand , If Stroll and his co investors hadn’t done what they have done, this BB wouldn’t be here as there would of been a very high likelihood it would of gone into administration,,It hasn’t and it’s raised funds to ensure it see’s the CV19 era out, Personally I don’t give a flying fec who owns how many shares, Get behind British Manufacturing and if you make a few quid, great as basically that’s what this is all about.
