Graph71 Yes mate....there is a huge amount of tosh on here. Avoid wild figures, people who’s posts constantly contradict, and personally I don’t like the people who boast about how much they invest / have made...
Just use the filter. Re taking advice. You can only ultimately make your own decisions. I guarantee everyone on here who invests regularly has won and lost big at times.
I do as much personal research as possible, if I then notice a majority of posters I respect have a similar opinion it does give me a little more confidence in my own. Doesn’t mean it always pans out though!
Good luck.
Graph71 - The filter button makes a BIG difference otherwise I would not bother reading this board.
As someone new to this, and my pennith for what it's worth, when I was doing my background reading on stocks that interested me, I would back read through posts on lse, just to try and get a different feel, I will say it took a week or 2 to see through some of the nonsense posts, and I definitely let them taint my opinion of whether to invest, I appreciated the likes of WG and similar posters who basically pointed them out. However I would say that if you intend to invest, even at the small amounts I am, you need make decisions based on your own investigations and not just by someone saying "28 tomorrow".
WG don’t you see though by engaging with these people it not only encourages them but also gives them “airtime” so more people get involved and the problem is amplified?
Yeah sorry i read it back myself and it wasn’t very clear!
Ok so this idiot writes something intentionally misleading that you are concerned will mislead a newbie so you write a new post which will sit above his also informing the newbie what you have done.
Newbies wisen up quickly CC they are not completely stupid and if they are then there is nothing you can do to save them.
Sorry didn’t understand what you were saying?
CC the information you kindly put on this board is invaluable and really is appreciated so how about a different tact?
Post it after d*ft ar*e posts so his will fade away?
Unfortunately that won’t be the case as new investors will always be coming and these scumbags will try to feed them misinformation.
I really feel for the type of people they must be to want to do it. It has to be a sad existence when you get some kind of enjoyment or financial gain by misleading people.
Hiya CC I agree with everything you say but surely you must see that engaging with these sad individuals is encouraging them to continue?
By filtering them they will end up just talking to themselves and go away.
I don’t think anything they say affects the actual share price.
Roxbury, although I am not quite as passionate about defending as Ghost, I do see the point he has raised.
Although most of the people influenced will ultimately not control the destiny of this company. These guys talking rubbish and making up negative points to intentionally push the price down does have an impact on some.
These guys should not be allowed to effect other people’s finances by getting them to sell at 30p and missing the rise.
I understand they are trolls but some will read and without a rebuttal will take it to heart and react accordingly
I would block them if it was just for my benefit but I do see an ethical problem with what they do.
Why are you giving somebody who is clearly winding you up and laughing at you the time of the day and oxygen?
What is actually stopping you filtering him/her?
