Any bit of good news surrounding production will see 50 to 60p I think. I will certainly have a much better view next week! There were 2000 on order at 158k each before customisation?
Guys, there are many registered prototype and pre-production test bed DBXs on the road. The cars referred to on their Twitter feed are the first cars produced on the new St Athan's line, but they're not full production cars, but line test cars. I'm trying to find out when the first full customer/dealer production cars are due. Not confirmed yet, but it could be this week, or next. That would be a major step forward.
Date registered 7th feb
If you look down the comments line you will see someone driving one in the mud reg number KJ69EWH.....look the reg number up on mot check and it says aston martin/unknown
The article doesn’t mention them coming off the production line however I do hope they will in the next week or two.
Starting to roll of the production line at St Athan :-)

The biggest issue for McLaren is the over supply similar to the situation AML were in. The other thing was terrible customer service and reliability.
This has lead to a massive drop in resale value and subsequently less people wanting to buy new.
The way they countered this was to give very cheap finance deals and backing the second hand values with the finance companies.
This is now coming unstuck as after 2 years people are handing back the cars which are worth considerably less than the amount McLaren had backed and causing an additional loss for McLaren.
Fortunately AML does not have the reliability or customer service issue and they have been less reliant on backing used values so going forward will not be as exposed.
The problem with McLaren I think is they are specialising in 1 type of car. They are also far more expensive and as I heard Online articles Ferrari had a lot of cancellations On ordered cars due to Covid. McLaren are selling the same high end cars about the same price tag but the difference is they have huge debt and also had to close there sites. I don’t think they are in a good position at all. Also with their huge debt pile I doubt a major car maker will buy them.
Agree Pau1Oz, a lighter DBX with the twin turbo V12 would be a serious toy....and I think they'll do it in a couple of years.
They have made cars, but not full production cars. These are the first 'line test' vehicles. Once fully checked, production cars will roll. End of the week is possible.
A V10 or V12 carbon accessorised lighter version of the DBX would be VERY interesting - they could get one over on Lamborghini with the engine. Although costs would be high, they could almost charge what they wanted for that.
Lambo didn't put a V10 in the Urus for cost reasons.... although the press guff says because of driveability. The Urus Evo which I am advised off the record is coming in 2022 will still have a V8 - but a lighter chassis.
So why have that posted on Twitter to say they have? Also multi showrooms saying they are getting there by end of next week?
It looks like a Kia Sportage!
First production DBX not yet completed, but very close.
McLaren are indeed selling some high end cars GW, but that does not mean their selling them profitably. They are suffering from similar issues to AML, the difference being that they don't have a fully developed game changing model about to hit the market. If they don't up their transaction price, and quickly, then they could be in trouble.

The first DBX if finished? Announced today on Twitter, they are expecting showrooms to have 1 by next week apparently. I am aware of a couple sites expecting delivery by Thursday. Most likely demos but as always money talks
St Athan ha ha you know what I mean!
Yeah I read somewhere that they are in no hurry to open the Gaydon factory whilst the Givernment are paying 80% of the wages which I believe has been extended until October? Need to get the showrooms open first (early June?) which should be a boost for the share price followed by the first DBX off the Gaydan factory (mid Summer) another boost. Nice to hear people chatting about what happens next. If we can get through the next couple of months without anymore bad news then I think the future is bright.
Yep, some serious problems at McLaren. I don't underestimate the job to be done at AML, but I genuinely feel they are in a far stronger position - and with a critically acclaimed new model about to take a big chunk of a very profitable market. Add to that the potential (during Gaydon closure) to get out of existing stock and the whole AML commercial model could be completely different by the end of 2020. Could be. Huge amount of work to make it happen, but Stroll's track record on delivering turnarounds is impressive. Just mu personal opinion.
I think they are in a much safer position with there bigger lineup of models then McLaren for example. I mean McLaren are in huge trouble I was reading articles they are trying to issue more bonds but there isn’t anything to offer for collateral.
Very little chance of a DBX coupe in the foreseeable future. Far too costly before the DBX concept is proven commercially.
Ok so you guys done think they will shift the cars rear end a little into a coupe format. I knew they would do separate engines with hybrid tech too. I wonder if they will put a v8 hybrid from AMG before they develop their in house engine.
They possibly could, to compete with all the others incl. Bentley Bentayga (yuk), Lambo Urus (better). They did produce the 4dr Rapide to compete with the Panamera. Not a fan of SUVs or 4dr supercars but the Rapide is much better looking than the Panamera. If they did, it would probably be the best looking going by their current cars. GLA
7 seater option also could happen but all using the same shell for the next few years.
