ISA clarification

GLA
you can also hunt for a flexible ISA where you can withdraw and deposit whenever you want
Casper,
There is no limit to the profit you can make tax free in your share ISA. The only limiting factor is the amount you may deposit into the account annually. If you have a multi bagger within the account you can realise the profit and trade at a higher level as long as you do not take it out of the account, and all still tax free.
Meganx, no CGT on transfer, but may be liable on subsequent disposal. HMRC website says;
"Your spouse or civil partner may have to pay tax on any gain if they later dispose of the asset.
Their gain will be calculated on the difference in value between when you first owned the asset and when they disposed of it.
If this was before April 1982, your spouse or civil partner should work out their gain using the market value on 31 March 1982 instead.
They should keep a record of what you paid for the asset."
£20k is the max amount you can put into a stocks and shares ISA each year.
What's the rules on the isa, how much can you put in and it's there a limit on profits you can make
My wife also has a shares isa.... funnily enough I manage it for her and she has Amigo shares too
You can avoid CGT if you give shares to your spouse if you trust him/her obviously
Hi Thaw - I didn't go down the ISA route originally as I preferred to avoid paying any personal tax for taking the money out of my business and then seeing the investment not work out...I thought better against the company than personal as the other side of the coin is personal tax for a rubbish investment! if you see what I mean. Plus if I pay 20% CGT its no different from how what I pay anyway on other gains. All in all, if I get 1M into the company and then have to work out how to get hold of it personally - then I guess its a good problem to have!
Sadly the ISA allowance is too low to build a juicy stake!
All mine is in HL Stocks & Shares ISA so anything I take out is void of CGT.
Westcountrybob - As soon as you sell from your trading account and take the money out - you are liable for CGT. With a BED&ISA you don't have to pay the tax...
HL are still not brought back their bed&ISA service yet, removed during the pandemic. Can sell, wait a few days, then transfer money to ISA and buy back, but the fear is that you will be buying back at a much higher price!
Franky - have you maxed out 2021 ISA? if not, Bed&ISA from trading account to save on CGT?
My money is invested via a Fund and Share account - that CGT will hurt but hey....20% your majesty...your very F7kin welcome. lol
No, just a top up to a round number 6794 to help my ocd!! Don’t want to ruin my average too much but confident that there may be some more to come with a couple of RNS due ahead of the vote (hopefully)
Yurt bs it will be 3 quid in no time
Gl all true holders
Hold on to your tickets guys and girls. I think this is one of those shares to just keep hold of. Could be multi bags here even for people entering today.
Hi am 25.5p for £100k
Yeah, seems like quite an overkill with SP, but who knows - many here same like me can't sell and have to stick with it for a long term because of CGT hit if extracted within single tax year, therefore it will be a very slow and gradual disinvestment/closing position process (unless we hit red-flags of "capital's in danger"). Who knows - perhaps after some years we will see £3 (but to be realistic given current information such valuation seems a bit unjustified)..
Gra, was it a big buy you got? And SR its just about waiting on relending to begin or growing customer base
Took me an hour to buy, now in auction. Price all over the place and a serious lack of shares. Leak?
Can't buy on IG
In Auction....
It is, P.I's scratting around to get few shares (Not a lot left) Everyone holding because of FOMO and they know deep down it's a good thing. there's only one way to get people to sell and thats to up the price.
Onwards and upwards. L2 showing nothing really hoding this back either.
