Hey hey hey woah, we're having a discussion on this discussion forum are we not?
Cherry picking elements of a post and using it as a stick to beat someone with (ie tossing) is lazy. 90% I may be a douche, but I've not resorted to name calling.
"lies, damned lies and statistics" yes, a phrase that rings in my ears when I see an advert. However, by extension you're then advocating a different statistic. You can't use an argument questioning the reliability of statistics to support a different statistic. And Magpies you have, I assume willfully, missed the nuance of my post.
Why would I invite it on my doorstep... I'm just commenting on the language used to bully a user. It's not on my doorstep, I'm looking down the street at something bad, and instead of pointing and laughing I asked why. Still no answer.
Ha thx GG! I do like to entertain and have a laugh..it makes up for the bad golf this end.-))
nice post magpies
This notion of a 50/50 gamble is getting a little tiresome.... then again that is what the Trolls want isn't it , to "win" the argument by making you tired of arguing!!
As Mark Twain ( quoting Disraeli ) said......
“There are three kinds of lies:.... Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics.”
A learned judgement by using the principles of law based on the evidence laid in front of him is not a 50/50 coin toss by the Judge . No matter how many times someone says it is....!!!
Nuff Zed ;-))
Donor - Its not abuse you should be concerned about, its more around what and why you would invite it on your doorstep. Maybe huntress you or anyone else should pause and think "why am I attracting this abuse and is it deserved". Now the answer to that is binary. Its yes I deserve it or no, I don't. I'd say 90% you're a douche, just being obstructive on purpose or plain thick. See, this isn't so binary after all. I mean there might be a nuclear war tomorrow. Its like 50/50. It can or cannot happen. Is that right?? Clearly it isn't unless in Donors World which sounds like a coin toss. Lots and lots of tossing going on.
IK, again, you're policing the board! Use the filter button by all means, but don't whip up an angry mob to ostracize the naysayer!
I was perhaps a little terse so I'll elaborate:
"Stupid red or black comment" - what harm does it do you? Especially if you're now out!
You've joined in the abuse of el huntress, and lectured on how it's not 50/50*, and yet being so certain you've pulled out on the eve - eve of victory!
It looks suspect. That's all I'm saying.
* Statistically overall it's not 50/50, but at any point of decision the answer is yes or no. (This is how computers work, btw) Will we win yes/no, 0/1, 50/50. That's the final decision point. It's a simplification, which is allowed in maths.
Your shares are in Amigo Holdings, not Amigo loans. Amigo loans could, essentially, be closed down by the judge, no redress paid to anyone. Do I want that to happen? No, I don't, and I suspect nor does the judge, Amigo or FCA. Best to continue to build from here and launch Amigo 2.0. Amigo holdings could operate in other jurisdictions beyond FCA oversight if they chose too. Short term negative impact on SP if judge doesn't approve but long term, as shareholders, we would likely recover. All IMO.
InsiderKnowledge, good luck pal.
Senator added to the filter list... stupid red or black comment again.
Yes lost money by buying when I did not expecting the RNS. I want compensation because I was not able to anticipate the RNS!!! lol kidding. I made my choices, I accept that, I never said otherwise. I don't trust the FCA simple as that.
DonorYouFool what are you talking about lol what a div sigh I wish people had to give their true identity here. I thought I filtered IT last week! Donor filtered.
I see a few outcomes - not all positive for the share price but I do not see the Court not sanctioning the scheme - it simply helps no one - creditors, shareholders, bond holders, future borrowers, the FOS , the FCA
It’s surely unlawful to ignore 95 % of. Voters -
I knew you smelled fishy, IK.
Insiderknowledge, the RNS did not lose you money. Your gamble lost you money. Your decision alone. Everyone is gambling when buying shares and that includes me. Why anyone would over extend in one share is beyond me. If you are going to gamble then ensure you can afford to lose it all and if not simply do not do it. This could be at 60p next Monday or at pretty much zero. It could well be like changing for many hence why they take the gamble and see it out.
Thanks Viking. I will buy back in though when it is sorted and just have longer to wait to make my money back. Knowing my luck on a spike naturally. :)
I wrote something recently about the odds.. yet what are the odds I buy on a spike consistently lol pfff :)
I really like Amigo and what they are doing, I just don't trust the FCA :(
No No No........ it's Balls of Steel....... not Crystal Balls !!! ;-))
GLA
IK ... Nothing has been said in the last 2 weeks that has not been said before regards to Amigo as a going concern. The SOA came about to stop Amigo going into liquidation, 95% of those who voted, voted for it, at the creditors meeting the FSO voted for the scheme, before the last court hearing the FCA said they did not agree with it but would not oppose it, now they have changed their minds after everyone else has come out in favour of it. I am no lawyer BUT, if the Judge goes against the SOA, there has been something fishy going on that has been kept away from shareholders. Just my opinion. Good luck with what ever you do.
Insider knowledge I'm in the same boat, but remain cautiously optimistic.
I think also that Hamish going to Provident and repeating his hot streak for destroying business has also benefited us. FCA see that sub prime is without lenders, the FCA have seen what Amigo V2 looks like and the country needs the next generation lender in this space. You don't just start a business like this without years of loses and massive pot of money, we can transition into becoming that next gen lender.
This is correct. Amigo have said the deal must pass or it will go bankrupt. Simple as that.
What you suggest is periphery action the FCA have suggested may help to wipe out what is left of share holders value. So basically the same result for retail investors then.
Have a good day all. I think I am just going to sell my holdings so I am out by Wednesday. Sorry I don't have BOS, I have a pension which I topped up from 20p up to the last 30p now sat on yet a further loss of 50% I can not risk losing what is left.
This is personal and not a reflection of my views as the outcome my own wish to protect my holdings from the FCA. The RNS took a LOT of my money I have saved for years which now I can't get back unless I am careful. Personal safety not deramping, mad at the FCA rather for taking my future away.
Have a good day all.
If the FCA wanted to bankrupt Amigo then the SoA concept wouldn't of even got to our first court date.
They are simply wanting the pot to be increased so they can stand up and say they got a better deal for customers.
The problem is that any predictions are simply "pull a random number from a hat". NOBODY, let me say that again, NOBODY knows.
The FCA want to bankrupt the company and not pay out anything to the claimants and any shareholders to lose it all. We are fighting against this crazy action as it helps nobody.
Just let it go where it goes, no point predicting it
SayCourt approves SOA ,sp prediction for 20th,21st,24th and 25th respectively.........??????
