Jaytem - you may want to research the Ukraine conflict properly.
Eastern Ukraine is ethically Russian and includes the Crimea which is the main Russian naval base.
Prior to elections, there was a pro EU coup which was lead by far right militants. They deposed the government and the EU and western nations recognised the government prior to elections - an absolutely breathtaking event.
Had this transpired without military involvement, Russia would have lost their main naval base to another global power. To make it simple for you, it’s like Scotland deciding they are joining the Russian federation along with our nuclear submarine bases. Or Portsmouth deciding they are no longer British and giving the Royal Navy to say, Spain.
There is no way on Gods green earth the U.K. government would have let that happen.
As for fascist, I have no idea what context you could apply that to Russia. I would imagine you’re purely picking up things you’ve read without any scrutiny and have it muddled with a sense of patriotism.
MD,
"When will it make us some money!"
I'm clinging onto the "when" rather than the "will"
Blah blah. Blah blah blah
Back to AMC.When will it make us some money!

Peool making excuses for a ruthless facist dictator who indulges in massive state sponsored global terrorism, energy warfare, domestic crushing of opposition, and who has invaded one country and started a proxy war in another.
Yeah that putin is OK, bit like that Hitler chap because he built autobahns.
Moronic people have always sleepwalker into totalitarianism by making excuses and saying it ain't that bad.
After decades of drunk alcoholics running the SU, Putin is seen as a modern and competent man amongst most Russians. Someone who they aren’t ashamed of.
Apparently he controls the media, who he insists are all on his side.
This is of course completely different to the western media, who didn’t pick a side in the last presidential race. It was evenly spilt, on the one side, a few guys in Fox News (not all of fox) and a tiny station called brietbart. On the other, everyone else.
The pollsters were famously neutral, predicting a 12 point lead which evaporated into a hairs breadth.
Whilst in office, our system was again politically neutral, with a completely bogus impeachment attempt. And finally, a protest on Election Day was characterised as domestic terrorism after a full summer of armed militias rioting, looting and setting up autonomous zones and indiscriminately targeting civilians which of course, wasn’t terrorism, it was freedom fighting.
I think glass houses and stones come to mind when talking about Putin.
TDT. So what you are saying is that you will pay, whatever it costs, for your electric boiler, electric car, and thousands, upon thousands, of windmills. Methinks, our little bit of nickel is going to be worth a pretty penny, or three.
That's me.all done.
Good luck to you and your family, FG
FG, you can view the issue, IMO, in one of two ways.
a) Human activity is not causing irreversible climate change but the lobby that claims that it is wins the argument which results in vast and seemingly unnecessary expenditure to reduce CO2 emissions. The upshot of that? We’ve spent a whole load on money we didn’t need to spend resulting in higher taxes but at least we end up with clean air to breath.
b) Human activity is causing irreversible climate change but the lobby that claims that it isn’t wins the argument resulting in no action to reduce CO2 emissions. The upshot of that? Continued burning of fossil fuels, increased air pollution, an increase in global temperatures leading to a whole variety of feedback loops increasing temperatures even further ultimately resulting in global catastrophe.
I’ve got kids. I’d much rather not gamble with their future and accept the consequences of taking action now to reduce atmospheric pollution, higher taxes, than do nothing and risk their future. In my opinion there really is only one sensible choice. There may be other options.

TDT. I live in a country being brought to its knees because of an insane drive to cut CO2 emissions that will supposedly save the planet from some grossly exaggerated climate catastrophe. All opinions to the contrary are "cancelled". Many other opinions are cancelled here. The land of the free, we ain't. That said, I'm endeavouring to gain financially from the madness, thus my investment here.
A bit old but he still makes some interesting points.

With a few alterations to that sycophantic assessment FG you could substitute Hitler for Putin. It's about more than just getting the trains to run on time.

Altar. Why wouldn't the Russian people vote for him? He's taken their nation away from the dollar, vastly improved technical weapons capability, increased self-sufficiency in food production, and sells a lot of natural gas. I'd say the prospects for Russia are far better than they are for us in good old Blighty at the moment. What's not to like, if that helps with infrastructure in the Amur region?
…. they said it was a fair election.
No surprises there!
