Battery-Grade Nickel Supply Will Suffer As Major Nickel Discoveries Slump
https://www.spglobal.com/marketintelligence/en/news-insights/blog/battery-grade-nickel-supply-will-suffer-as-major-nickel-discoveries-slump
I think the Nickel price is going to keep rising.....
https://www.kitco.com/news/2020-10-20/Nickel-export-squeeze-could-lead-to-some-more-upside.html
Nickel export squeeze could lead to some more upside
Mine production in the Philippines is expected to fall by around 9.3%, down to 293.4kt in 2020, as companies struggle to keep operating while combating the dual challenges of COVID-19 and weather disruptions. We have already seen the likes of Global Ferronickel Holdings Inc. suspend operations in the Surigao del Norte province, where most of the country’s mines are located.
This could present an opportunity for miners who mine outside the area. For example firms like Vale, BHP, Glencore and Norilsk Nickel. Some of which do mine in Indonesia and the Philippines but we could see a change of tactics if issues become worse in the region.
Looking at the daily nickel futures chart we can see this squeeze in exports is having a big effect on the price. The nickel price is about to take out the previous wave high of $1158.4 and could extend to the upside.
Tesla china factory.
Glencore most likely to be Offtaker for Nickel from Kun Manie. Let wait for official confirmation of this. Most here probably already figured out that link.
Chinese happy to build the rail route also directly from Russia to China.
All ducks being lined up one by one. Happy to wait for proper ROI here.
All looking good.
Glencore talking to Battery companies also.
A summary of the podcast contained in my post earlier....
AMC are sitting on a monster given these figures
Nickel Sulphate
-Tesla offer of Giant Contracts
- Nickel to become the New Gold
- Key Driver = EV Growth
- 2.1m EV’s in 2019 - 35 KT of Class 1 Nickel (currenty only 3% of current nickel mining)
- 114m EV’s forecast by 2030 - 925KT per year (more than 14 Times Increase on current Nickel Mining needed in a short space of 10 Years)
- If Paris Climate Agreement is fully adopted is expected to increase EV growth even further
- This would 36% Growth per Year in EV Demand
- Reaching 245 million EV’s in 2030 and Class 1 Nickel Demand of 2000KT per year
Supply Side
-S&P Global ratings expect 2.3 Million Tonne mined to be mined by end of 2020
-Battery Grade Nickel Sulphate can only be produced economically using Class 1 Nickel (most pure form)
-Battery Supply Class 1 grade makes up only 1 Million Tonne - 37% of Current Annual Production
-Huge Supply Challenge for Global Nickel
-Class 1 Nickel Sulphide deposit discoveries are very rare, only 1 in last decade
Afternoon.
The nickel price at $7+/lb does indeed help as the wheels progressively come off the $8/lb PFS at < $7/lb (on Nickel alone, completely discounting copper concentrate etc).
Looking forward to updated numbers/TEO here - £76m mcap/c5.5p on current issue (2x those numbers on BFS of course) is the lowball on the PFS as things stand at $8/lb nickel but now there's copper etc to be added too plus any resource/cash flow adjustments following the 2018 drill campaign.
Hi gwm - no, I haven't seen any youtube vid. suggesting that gold will crash after the US election.
Why would its appeal suddenly dissipate with both candidates advocating more & more electronic money creation, especially Biden if he wins? Gold is the immutable unit of exchange and reliably offsets the decline of fiat money; it that stops / interest rates suddenly rise, then it could well retreat v a stronger US$ but do you really see that happening in this chaotic / debt riddled world we're all in today? I don't - sasa.
S&P Global Platts Pricing Director for APAC Metal Markets Julien Hall talks to Platts battery metals experts Joyce Zhang and Jiahong Ong for an overview of nickel use in electric vehicle batteries, the main fundamental drivers in the market, and how the pricing behaves, to get a better sense of how hot the nickel market really is..

I am new to this share myself with average price of 2.6p so i feel im am very lucky with this one, combined with my Alba and PHE i am felling very lucky.
Hi Sasa
im sure u have seen, nickle has been in an uptrend channel since april, 5 then, 7.1 now, that a big increase and still on the up I think.
i have always said here is a risk reward, amur goes bust, max losss 2.3p, amur goes blue sky, 100p, so looking for it to sit at 20p reflecting this. with Adam putting his own money in, board buying shares, probably no more dilution, dealmaker on board, nickle increasing, sulph not lact deopsit, copper stream, as u,ve said we have never been in a better position.
i guess its sentiment driven, as with the 44p achieved before with less nickle and less shares.
For the newbies here, you are superlucky imo to be able to buy at these prices, look at market cap and value of metal in ground.Remember russia has cheap finance at the right time,. In the past we didn't even know for sure Russia would give amc a licence to mine! And we bought all the way up to 44p. At that time £1 share price was expected. As said my average 12p., amc have now 100% liscence, and for all metals, for decades hence.
Have you seen the odd youtube vid saying gold will crash at the american election result? your opinion on this?
the Ni price ticking up a bit at $7.15 per lb - it all helps - sasa.
