Hi dontpanic
We have all been there and sometimes the opposite - i.e. hanging on too long as I did with HUR, SXX and Flybe - so you would have to be a miracle worker or soothsayer to get them all right. Even GGP with hindsight should have sold at 37 and now bought back in but didn't. You just got to hope your calls are correct more often that they aren't after doing all the research you can as even that doesn't stop bad ones fttt
Of course most of us do not like a falling share price, but I have to agree, good post, dontpanick.
Just on the gold.
Fact...We are sitting on huge deposits high nugget effect gold worth many millions of pounds.
Finding the nugget gold is like looking for pockets of needles in haystacks.
The old timers had to look for the gold with no modern technology to help them find it, and they found it in spades, they got the tip of of the iceberg in terms of the gold down underground.
Even with modern methods and advanced technology finding the nugget gold is not easy, but Alba are doing everything right to find and extract the gold in an environmentally sound way.
Alba's progress so far has exceeded expectations in what they have found so far.
Would an image of GF, showing a handful of gold be good for our share price, then no more gold to be shown for a long time. I don't think so.
Would an image of GF showing hand fulls of gold be good for our share price followed by news of substantial gold recovery soon after, yes that would be huge.
I bought into ALBA purely on the gold mine, I still believe its going to be a huge success.
I think GF is playing the long game correctly and I back him and ALBA 100%
Cheers mate, I've done OK since (thanks ggp), i didn't lose £300k, just failed to make it.
It taught me a valuable lesson.
Sincere commiserations on the evaporating £300k, dontpanick. I hope you succeed next time around with Alba.
Good post, dontpanick.
These are low share price levels. Those selling are, therefore, "loose" holders.
The conditions are being created for a convincing rebound when the market decides good news really is good news.
A lot of the previous optimism rested on HH which was largely out of Alba's control and as we now know seems to have been based on hype. Thankfully Alba and it's BoD were smart enough to have more than one wheel on their wagon and those are still rolling along nicely. The planned GL spinoff puts Alba at a pivotal point in its history. I for one am willing to wait another 6 months to see how that pans out before joining the moaners.
Yanis. You puzzle me. You are a long term holder and therefore you must think Alba has potential but you only make negative posts, surely the sensiblle thing for you to do is to sell and move on.
Chin up boys, you're all being very contradictory, you say you want the SP to rise and then publicly whinge and moan constantly about the company BoD and why aren't they doing this and that whaaa whaa. It's not going to help is it.
How about a change of perspective for example:-
The SP is suffering at the moment, however, the current bargain price represents a very significant gain should any good news land, which, given the company's current position(ing), could be exceptional in the second half of this year.
The more the SP is deflated, the better the bargain.
Obviously this is precisely what these naysayers are all about, new pi's, and those that have suffered from past burns and are a little green and perhaps a little short of funds, will start to sweat, become shaky and may sell up, usually at a shocking loss, only to be doubly kicked when shortly after there's a change of sentiment and significant SP surge.
As a former holder, then panic seller of EUA, I have some experience of this. (basically, I failed to make about £300k, and lost about £3k instead, ouch), TDT was there, possibly a witness to my unravelling mind at the time, I was really bad at this game, had spend years losing money and mind. Negative posters feel like they're personally assaulting you. Take a step back, re-assess, go at it again, don't sweat the daily's, be pragmatic if possible, don't panic.
All good now though.
“I think you'll find that aside from those planning a fundraise very few directors pay much attention to the s/p and prefer to concentrate their efforts into moving the company forward. The s/p will then take care of itself.”
“… The s/p will then take care of itself.” - will it be this decade? Next decade?
I have been here for 5++ years and have purchases at 0.75p. I haven’t seen the SP back up to 0.75p since that purchase.
No, I do not believe that the SP will take care of itself if it gets severely damaged … and the outstanding shares multi-bag.
I think you'll find that aside from those planning a fundraise very few directors pay much attention to the s/p and prefer to concentrate their efforts into moving the company forward. The s/p will then take care of itself..
“GF very positive about Gold mines” … but the SP is rotting!
Can GF do something to stop the SP rot? Can he do something to improve sentiment?
SP … SP … SP … nothing else matters.
We are still waiting for confirmation of early revenue generation … expected well over a month ago!
GF very positive about Gold mines in Wales and about spin off of Greenland assets.
Well worth reading Chairman's report
