ferroty. I am not sure what you are referring to.
I hope you don't mean Notes' post about Greta or nectar points.
Certainly not, I was talking about the negative posters and to some extent the rampers, different agenda's.
I do BB, but it’s about improving the damage / viability rather than cancelling every event that involves travelling.
It’s nice to see such events being held in less wealthy areas of the world, formula 1 being the worst. I’d start there and work backwards ????

Bb - If you read about what the organisers are trying to achieve with this championship, it’s about taking an exciting race to places others don’t go to, enabling people who never seen anything like this, to see it first hand. Why should it just be for the privileged or stay in one country? Where would you host it, Blackpool beach!
Bananaman, Don't believe a word some people say, they all have their own agenda's.
I love reading your posts Notes. They always make me laugh.
Only a small amount of water would be required compared to day a fuel tank for example. This is huge.
Worldwide televised attention. Probably wheel Greta in on a moon buggy.
“ To raise awareness of the ice caps melting, or the Amazon rainforest disappearing they have to grab the attention of the common people and show them..“
Love it.
Newboy, I nearly used that analogy today also. That I believe is the idea. Not to destroy habitats but to draw attention to the issue of climate change using a popular spectator sport to get maximum effect.
There are plenty of worse things going on around the world than Xtreme Es one day sports event. We use all kinds of harmful processes in these remote locations such as driving shipping tankers through the arctic, the deserts are full of petrol vehicles, rain forests are being cut down. It would not be the intention to destroy these places.
Movement of the equipment and vehicles is just the egg cracking whilst the omlet is the event broadcasting to the wider audience
EV technology is about 5 years in front of HFCV's kontiki2. There is the odd model about but too expensive to make a series
These Extreme-e vehicles weigh 1760kg! What is the point of lugging around all that battery weight, and needing a hydrogen tanker for resupplying the battery charger? Install a HFC in the cars and refuel them in minutes!
To make an omlette you have to break some eggs Moscorum.... Like musk flying private jet, seems against his ethos but he has to get stuff done. He hasn't managed to advance EV's by about 10 years without maximising his time where he needs to be.
To raise awareness of the ice caps melting, or the Amazon rainforest disappearing they have to grab the attention of the common people and show them...
AnneOwl, The other day you were telling everyone how many shares you had and the cost of dilution to you personally. Now you seem to just want to talk down everything good about what AFC do.
You question everything and provide, in your opinion a better alternative or a why do it this way when...… response.
I am not sure of your motives but if you are so heavily invested get behind it and look at the positive the publicity will do for AFC. OK its not going live until 2021 but they will have to market the sport and AFC are in 'Collaboration' having marketing rights. What is that worth to a small green tech company ?
Millions and millions of pounds of free advertising from now and throughout next year to 220m people around the world, maybe more.
Please cheer up.
Really? I think it's great! They will ensure they are carbon negative and people love to race!
I agree 100%, SUVs - electric or not - are an environmental disaster.
The cost (and I'm not talking financial here) of shipping all this crap around the globe is shameful and certainly outweighs any green credentials they're crowing about.
I got to what I thought was my maximum holding a couple of weeks ago at 25p! And then bought a load more in the Primary Bid offer!!
Seems like the whole operation will be run from the RMS St Helena ....https://www.rivieramm.com/news-content-hub/news-content-hub/extreme-e-retrofitting-rms-st-helena-59603
Top up: Paid 25.06
Future looks a big bit better!
Taskmaster,
Maybe but what do we do ? Stop all motor sports ?
The point is that E - motor sports are showing that there is an alternative and green solution. Where fuels are used the cost of transporting them per litre is massive. Plus they have been refined from crude oil and then used to power the vehicles creating emissions.
Lets see the numbers from the negative nellies. Surely they would have something better to do.
e. someone will crunch the air freight C02 numbers and ask the bigger question.
What i like about this contract is -
a - it's high profile so AFC can no longer hide when things go wrong
b - because its raced in remote regions it won't be cancelled due to Covid19
c - it has to be completed on time next year
d - huge worldwide audience
There’s the 25p at last!
As a motorsport fan myself I find this very exciting. It's a new type of event, though for sure the future, I've also seen motorbikes heading the electric route. Certainly a global audience, I will be interested to see which type of sponsors this event attracts, as this will also be excellent PR for some big name sponsors also looking to establish themselves as a forward thinking company.
HCharge,
Jam ?
Yes, today
Jam.....
