I’m a tad direct (too much at times) but i do read your posts and you’ve clearly an opinion worth listening to.
I'm actually a rather sensitive soul. Not shy of calling BS when I see it but also happy to learn from others. I'll be honest and say my knowledge if what goes on in and around Glastonbury isn't high
Ogggs,
whilst I agree with most of your posts (not that it’ll bother you; you’re not the type who cares what people think) there’s a lot more to Glastonbury that a few New age types listening to music.
It’s also a thriving business community attended by numerous heads of business who invite clients to enjoy the atmosphere. This is an area I have some knowledge of.
Comments in the wrong thread……..soooooo sorry!
Good stuff money83.
Fascinating options and combinations for clean energy, good signs.
Look up Eden geothermal, they are currently drilling a geothermal well 5 minutes walk from Eden project that will power the Eden project and 1000s of homes once up and running
I was at the Eden project a few days ago, 3x22kw free connections was all I saw (wish I'd topped up there but had already parked. At first I thought that this pointlessly low powered, but most trips to the project will last for 4 hours or more, so actually 22kw is fine, you can grab 88kwh and fill nearly all batteries on the market at the moment, and stops people driving there just to have a quick charge. They just need more of them. I'm in a phev so using one would have been cheeky and may have stopped someone who needed one. They do have at least an 11kV supply to the site so probably a decent amount of power maybe in the MW range so should be able to have several per car park. With h2 generation off peak and with solar and wind they could spread the load.
I usually attend the Download festival each year. Whenever I walk past their generators I note the smell, noise and huge diesel tanks. To see an AFC generator there in future years would put a huge grin on my face as I head towards the mosh pits……
I’m confident this could well happen by 2023 if not earlier.
H2 game changing times for AFC…..
GLALTH,
Jim
Pretty well mentioned Glastonbury in the 'Temporary Power' section - reference to 'event operators'.
Ogs, crossed wires re Glastonbury.
“add credibility, with the likes of Glastonbury.”
What I mean is the likes of Glastonbury festival using AFC energy and consequently growing awareness of FuelCells as a solution to climate change. Not meaning a few hippys being the ‘likes of G’.
Hello Ogs, new thread because Eden is not about ExE.
Eden as an opportunity to AFC compares to the Julich ‘trial’. In that a permanent installation could power a certain size of community. I have no idea how big the Eden project is, and so any relevance for AFC. As a sustainability project maybe it could represent a working example of 100% clean renewable energy sufficient to supply a constant demand, and not just as an experiment within the project, more as real world climate change solution now.
The credibility is required to increase general awareness of FuelCells, making for acceptance ‘in the high street’ for common use.
You have a very odd habit of starting a new thread to reply to a question from another one! This sort of projects might add credibility but would they add t hat to the people we need to be credible to? When we are talking multi[-order international clients I'm not sure being credible among a few new age wokers at Glastonbury is that important
Nice one Scar, that kind of permanent installation sounds very suitable. A dedicated site for the production of H2 etc, and water by-product would be useful.!
Agree that kind of ‘small’ order would add credibility, with the likes of Glastonbury.
