13thmonkey,
Yes, I always use the contact form now that it's there.
Never had a reply from that.
Last reply I had was 2011, when had a conversation with Wendy.
Did you use the contact form? I had responses yesterday and a phonecall.
I just sent the emails to AFC.
I don't expect a reply, as they've never replied to any emails I've sent them, not even a 'thanks for your email'.
Maytal46,
Thanks. I got the reply whilst at work, so I was going to send it all to AFC when I get home, although I suspect they do monitor the discussion here.
Haggis. That is a great response. I know that AFC should be monitoring this site, but wonder if you should copy this correspondence to AFC direct, suggesting that they follow this up on official AFC headed notepaper!! Apologies if you have already considered this. Again really great proactive work. Maytal46
Another group pushing for EV charging infrastructure.
"The race is on to power up EV infrastructure"
Accelerating the ban on carbon-emitting cars demonstrates the UK’s commitment to tackling climate change – now the hard work creating a national charging network begins, says Maria Connolly, partner and head of clean energy at UK law firm TLT.
What is initially needed is a full, nationally rolled-out car charging infrastructure programme.

Thanks Haggis.....lets hope Boris starts leading by example...he's had 10 years to think about it.

Good work Haggis
Their reply:

Dear Mr X
.
The Transition to Zero Emission Vehicles
.
Your Ref: 19 February 2020
.
Thank you for your email about ending the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans.
.
The correspondence has been passed to the Office for Low Emission Vehicles for reply as we deal with this policy.
.
On 4 February, the Prime Minister announced that the Government is consulting on bringing forward the end to the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans to 2035, or earlier if a faster transition appears feasible, as well as including hybrids for the first time. This follows the manifesto commitment in November where the Government promised to consult on the earliest phase out date it could achieve.
.
This position reflects the independent Committee on Climate Change (CCC) advice that the phase out date should be 2035 or ideally 2030, and that only battery electric or other zero tailpipe emission vehicles should be permitted to be sold after this point.
.
The CCC has advised that this is an important step in the UK’s aim to end our contribution to climate change by 2050.
.
As part of this consultation, The Government are asking what the accompanying package of support will need to be to enable the transition and minimise the impacts on businesses and consumers across the UK, building on the significant demand and supply side measures already in place.
.
Your feedback detailing the challenges the Government faces is welcome and will be added to the consultation responses
.
Both Ministers and senior officials will be engaging closely with stakeholders to understand their views, and to determine what support is needed for the transition to zero emission vehicles.
.
Yours sincerely The Office for Low Emission Vehicles Team
Success!!!!!!!
I sent this to OFGEM last week, because OFGEM are targeting 10 million EV's on UK roads within a decade and have highlighted the infrastructure needs.
________________
Dear Sirs,
.
I read with interest the news today the OFGEM has produced a Decarbonisation Action Plan.
.
I picked up on the following points:
.
1) "Building a system that supports the growth of renewables and ten million electric vehicles on our roads by 2030."
.
2) “It is now vital that the energy industry rises to the challenge and demonstrates how it will work with the Government and Ofgem to decarbonise Britain’s energy system at lowest cost.”
.
3) "Ofgem will look at how it can support the roll out of electric vehicles and will publish an Electric Vehicle Strategy. This will address how the grid needs to evolve to meet increased demand."
.
I think OFGEM needs to look at the recent announcements by UK Company 'AFC Energy' regarding its new off-grid EV Charger powered by zero carbon Hydrogen. I think this system will definitely help to enable the targets above to be reached, as this rapid EV charging with zero emissions can be placed anywhere, negating the huge cost of grid expansion in remote areas and city centres. The system uses lower cost lower grade Hydrogen, not the high grade Hydrogen required by Hydrogen cars, which saves a lot of money in operating costs.
