Depends on the site, most smaller cells are battery backed only.
I'm wondering if the smaller units are actually a precursor to smaller scale diesel genset displacement for say mobile phone masts etc. Does anyone know what the typical output is for this type of diesel generator ?
I think that the rolls / mini analogy doesn't work, fiesta / mondeo works better, it's just a question of scale rather than better and worse. Although even then would you build the higher end before the cheaper version, quite possibly (tesla), or most tech products, create the halo product and then the entry level models. But that's an argument that involves consumers rather than corporate buyers, they'll behave very differently to each other in reality.
MP, I must say I have always regarded, rightly or wrongly, the small units as demonstrator models. Something that can be taken out to a prospective customer. I have regarded the 160 kW systems as the early commercial systems.
Just one further point on funding. The last Proactive interview specifically asked Adam about future fund raising. He answered by saying it would be reviewed in the new year. Two small raises is neither here nor there, they (IMO) do not address the issue.
Furthermore, today in this raise they say demand is good for the larger product. For me you do not build a rolls until you’ve sold the mini’s. A bit simplistic but I’m sure you understand where I coming from.
As for the raise, it has been anticipated on this message board for quite a while, so I don't think anyone is surprised to finally see it. As for the share price, what we have seen so far today is a test of the breakout level (20) which is the neckline of the inverse head and shoulders chart pattern. The volume is impressive and if the posts here are any indication, some are throwing in the towel to others who are seeing a growth story starting to get traction. The pullback from Friday's run is keeping the stock out of overbought territory which gives us room to run to the upside. It looks pretty healthy overall, imo.
I think many did have a moan on that raise southerhay as it stifled the rise.
Fund raising is a necessary evil in these companies until sales profits come in at sufficient levels. That’s why the rewards can be high when turning the corner into a profitable organisation.
MPO818 - apologies - my decimal point was in the wrong place ! My points is still valid though - nobody complained about that at the time. My point re. bonus was that some was suggesting the £1M raise today was to be used for bonus payments which is clearly crazy !
Not such a "terrible" post in my opinion.
Of course we need sales and I want to see these as much as everyone else. If this raise gets us to that position then all well and good. I want to see my investment grow like everyone else here. It's looking a lot better than it did just 3 months ago but we have some months to go I think before we see the rises we all want to see. Yes H2 is getting more traction but the company valuation should be realistic (with steady growth) and not hype driven !
MP0, haven’t you got it the wrong way round? No leaks, AFC have simply taken advantage of a temporary strengthening of the SP to raise cash. Same before Xmas. Good to hear today that there’s demand for the 160kW units. At £800k-£1.6m each, just a couple of dozen of these is pretty significant revenue.
MPO what you are stating would be fraud. I don’t believe that is the case and AFC we’re communicating false information in cahoots with the MMs
The price does often rise on a Friday and settle at the beginning of the week.
Southerhay. That was a terrible post, the raise in December was 520k and a £1m bonus should only be paid for a significant contribution to shareholder value, my holding 6 months ago was close to worthless. And as for being commercial, I think you achieve this when you SELL a product or service.
I want AFC to do well but I am totally adverse to being led down the garden path, which AFC have done in years gone by. Enough said.
Couldn’t not could.....
But Daz, in reality they could first showcase the 160 unit. Costs a lot to produce and the proof of concept should really be a smaller unit. It would also be uneconomical to do a roadshow with a 4 40 foot shipping container and associated equipment and fuel.
Alternatively it shows there's no interest in the smaller systems so they have no choice but to rapidly progress the larger systems, but once again, without any news everyone has to guess.
I'm amazed to see negativity this morning about the fundraise. We are commercial and in order to satisfy initial orders we will absolutely require funding for this. From memory, nobody seemed disturbed by the £5.25M raise prior to Christmas. We should be pleased that one individual has the confidence to provide this funding. It's also very positive to see that the previously stated June delivery for the 160KW unit needs to be brought forward. Suggests demand is there and confidence is high.
Again, we need to see the bigger picture here and stop the petty quips about bonuses for Adam Bond - it's tiresome and infantile. AFC should now be at delivery stage and this funding will help get to that point. If you don't like it, you should be invested here and sure as hell shouldn't be talking down a company that's going to help address many of the burning issues facing our world currently.
AFC don’t have the orders staff facilities to go so big so quickly. I rather the slowly catchy monkey process. If they’d gone all out in 2017 to find out the tech wasn’t up to scratch where would we be now! I’m in a hurry to cash in but I want success not excessive risk.
Chippyjo yes your take on it is what you would expect, so the leak (remember over 12m shares got traded on Friday) must have intimated that the coming RSN was more important to the sp, is that not manipulation. My point is, they have said AFC has disruptive tech to get it up and running they need huge investment, just get it done and stop messing about with £520k here and £1m there..
I would prefer if the company raised in one big chunk (like ITM) but I suspect there would be too many shareholder grumblings if it did, as discount could be steeper and the plans for the cash would have to be vague (projections for 2 years, etc). However, the company has been quite specific about what each raise is for and, on recent past raises, have delivered. Quietly confident about this raise too.
MP, the last fund raise was after a string of positive RNS. The rise on Friday was not on a string of or even a single RNS so if there was a leak, it would have surely dropped the price at the end of last week.
Well it’s now in full view another issue of equity at 17p to raise a further £1m it was leaked and the sp manipulated to pacify LTH’s . Exactly the same happened with the £520k raised in December 2019 at 20p after the sp had pushed to over 25p.
I’m not overly concerned now as I’ve made a partial sale. Raising funds in dribs and drabs does not inspire confidence, that my take on it, time will tell.
Cov erage of t he use of Hydrogen and EV chargers on the BBC news possibly
Partial sale at 2pm. Volume today is more that the previous 4 days of this week. The rise today could well be due to any of 3 reasons
There’s a leak and a company announcement is on the horizon
An unsavoury manipulation a Adam seeks more funding (remember his recent £520k placing)
Just a lot of hot air
My remaining shares are in at no cost, really amazing, I’d written the lot off awhile back, helps to ease the SXX pain.
