Segedunam,
Good post, spot on.
The ever, yes you did, no I didn't, plus all the posters tempted to continually reply to those that most have on ignore, is the main reason many of us no longer post on this thread.
I just had to reply to your post, hoping that people will take notice (I doubt it) and this thread gets back to a thread worth reading through, instead of skimming quickly down dozens of posts, looking for the ever rare post that actually is worth reading.
‘certain individuals are part of this‘
Southern, if there is anything nefarious going on, I would welcome an FCA investigation. Like I said, I am only concerned with the share price of this company going north.
That said, I think what you’re saying is that people can’t or shouldn’t express their views and feelings here if they are critical. I would respectfully disagree with that sentiment.
“Don’t you think it is somewhat manipulative when a poster can stretch a point to breaking point raising 36 so-called reasons why the CEO has failed, and then after a week or two of drops suddenly wants to buy into the company. It just stretches credibility.“
Alt - yes it is possible for someone to remain an investor, and raise 36 points that he feels the ceo has failed to deliver. That’s what real commitment and a real investor looks like.
Alt-muddle, great idea to start a what's up group just for the few not the many... LOL
And i would trust you.. Alt-muddle.. to start it and give you my tel number via email and conferm it in here the identity of each member...
“So let me get this straight Bondy. On Friday you were advising someone to sell, late in the afternoon. Now you wish you had more money to buy more. Isn’t there a bit of a contradiction there?”
Alt - on Friday someone on this board intimated that for them the loss was a very large amount of money (for them). I felt sorry for that person and feel that potentially in part he has been sucked in by the ramping on this board and perhaps overcommitted. Yes I advised that person that if they can’t afford to lose more, consider selling. Note : not ‘I think you should sell’. That was my take on a specific situation, not blanket advice for everyone to sell. I think it’s fair to say to someone to think about it because you don’t know how serious a situation losing that money could be for them.
At the same time, yes, I can say that if I had more disposable I would put it in to AFC. I’m fortunate to be in a fairly comfortable position but just because I am, doesn’t mean I would watch someone who potentially has overcommitted or is inexperienced squander his family’s money on a speculative bet.
Alt - why do you always twist things to stir up an argument? Bondy clearly stated to sell if you need the money, yet you’ve twisted it to suggest it was a general sell recommendation.
There’s 2 extremes on here, one talking it down while others portray blind faith in the face of reality and talk it up. I prefer reading posts from those with an open mind and realise there’s both positives and negatives at the moment for AFC, not the blinkered extreme views that they can only do wrong or only do right
Alt-muddle, you deserve a medal for always having the good manners of putting up with all the rats on here.... Well done
Bond the con man
Bondy - it’s market driven absolutely but when groups of individuals suddenly appear adding to negative market sentiment, then of course it becomes a perfect storm and certain individuals are part of this, either for personal gain or gains by the organisations they represent.
I hope the FCA does investigate activities on boards such as this to ensure we have a non-corrupt market
The real con men on this board are Ade and number. Oh and you Haggis.
I'm still ****ging off the CEO, so how have I changed my tune? I didn't buy any stock, and haven't in the past 4 or 5 months. I wish I had the funds to, but I don't. I would buy at these levels.
Stop calling me a con man.
Bondy is just another con man that sl*gg*d off the AFC Energy CEO using libellous claims and defamation on this board, and ****ged off EVERYTHING the company has achieved. He is a liar and a cheat. He clearly did this to try and force shareholders to sell out, and for other investors to avoid buying in. Once the share price dropped to where he thought the bottom was, he bought the stock, and is now ramping it in the hope of a profit as the tech sector recovers.
Put the con man on filter and stop giving him oxygen, he should be left to rot talking to himself, along with garmoan, ade, and many other con men on here.
“Trying to be a bit more optimistic “ after your torrent of negativity last (coinciding with a large drop in SP) is a tad rich isn’t it?"
Southern, are you actually blaming me for the drop in the share price? Honestly!?? So which is it, is it the market or is it me? Perhaps I think that with more tangible progress we wouldn't have had such a drop? Right now I would have thought we would have more than 0 units in the field. I'm entitled to share my frustration and opinion freely.
Bondy - thank you, but I’ve never sought the need to smoke pot and I certainly don’t believe anyone is “out to get me “ .
“Trying to be a bit more optimistic “ after your torrent of negativity last (coinciding with a large drop in SP) is a tad rich isn’t it?
'He was responsible for the pivot towards generators and ev charging' - I can probably give you this one. But it goes back to what i was saying about moving form R&D to commercial business selling units. I'm sure somewhere inside you, there is a part of you that can understand that having heard the '1GW by 2020', and plenty other not so lofty but similarly leading comments, that when '50 qualified leads' and 'Multiple deals by Q4' passes, one has a reason to get the right royal hump. Which is what I had at the time of making that original post. It actually inspired me to sign up and start talking about it because between Haggis's posts I didn't think anyone was looking at what could be a very clear problem here.
Again, I hope I am proven wrong, but without raising the 'misses' and the lapses of communication, the company wont be motivated to improve. I do intend to encourage the company to be more open, honest and communicative with us and treat us with a bit more respect. I email them directly to this effect regularly. I have a genuine right to feel this way. one day maybe over a beer we'll have a good old chat about it. Overall, I hope this comes good.
Look Alt, I am trying to be a bit more optimistic. Extreme E statrs in a couple of weeks. Neom. Great time to release an RNS. Perhaps Altaaqa actually committing to purchasing / leasing at a reasonable scale. It will only take one of these types of deals to get it going. The more I'm reading in to Methanol, the more I'm getting excited about near term potential.
Alt - I'm reading through some of the old rns's from 2015, I'm not sure i mentioned Chang Shin and sanyoong corporation agreement, Dubai Carbon (50 MW project development in South Korea).
I mean seriously. Knowing where we are now where we have something that reaonsably looks like a factory. Back then, there wasn't a product, and no capability to manufcature it at scale, yet there were all these loftily worded RNS's.
PLACE - clearly he came in and spotted issues with the system. He brought out the concept of PLACE metrics to give a sense to us that they were working towards some key deliverables and KPI's. Great. I thought it was good communication at the time. But there was never any conclusion, never a follow up on how we netted out on each of the PLACE metrics. I mean, I still don't know what the longevity of these fuel cells are, but AB had set out to talk to us about it and never followed up. It is an example of a carrot being dangled, only to be followed end with other stories getting us to look the other way. As I go through that list, there are plenty of examples of announcements that didn't amount to anything. The communication around PLACE is one of them.
Nothing would make me happier than the share price going up. What you or I say does not make one jot of difference. What makes a difference is tangible progress of this company from an R&D company in to a company capable of selling product at scale. That is the only thing that matters to how this share will respond and get to the levels where you will find me much more agreeable.
Sounds plausible Bondy. I guess another easily attained advantage using methanol fuelled cells would be the complete removal of particulate matter pollution associated with diesel generators. This is currently a big problem in itself so would be a quick win for construction site operators in the green stakes not withstanding any CO2 reductions. Hopefully we'll hear something soon on how and in what guise our fuel cells are to be deployed on such sites.
Alt - arguably it doesn't need to be green in the near term either. Methanol is low carbon, so can be used to lower carbon output and lower costs of fuel. Have a read of this.

Southern, I am still critical of the CEO I think he has a lot to answer for. He has to correct his track record of not delivering time after time and improve his communication considerably. I've not tried to talk the sp down, I don't think that is possible. My comments will not make the sp go down, macro factors and lack of communication have. prior to the big drops of the past week or two this was already drifting down.
And what fellow cronies? Some of you need to stop smoking pot and thinking everyone is out to get you. Let's just say I am hoping they are keeping us guessing.
Bondy123 - last week you were attempting to berate the CEO at every opportunity. What has changed between then and now?
You’ve clearly attempted to talk the SP down and scare shareholders into either selling their investments or, attempting to scare investors off at all.
Hey presto you’re now in positive mode. It’s laughable beyond belief!
“Perhaps AFC know more than we do” … I’m chuckling here at that comment. Erm too right they know more than we do and with the likes of you and your fellow cronies on this board, I’m not surprised they’re so quiet of late. Keeps you guessing, however the genuine investors here know that AFC would not be expanding their employee base without good reason.
Does the report speak of ‘degradation issues’ and if the report uses different words, could you state what it does say?
Garonne, perhaps the methanol fuel cell is the right cell for constuction sites in the short term? For it to have green credentials, i imagine it would need to be 'green' methanol, or they have to have some way to capture the carbon. Another thing the company should explain (how does the methanol system maintain green credentials) It certainly does reduce the Co2 compared to using diesel generator, and it is much cheaper than diesel.
