Having read the RNS and watched the rise today on the back of it I feel much more positive. I've been quick to criticise AB et al for a lack of communication but I think today's news on AlkaMem progress was commendable so credit where it's due. I like the sound of the new recruits with expertise in PEM fuel cell engineering coming on board too. AFC are clearly confident that AlkaMem will be a success. Hopefully the SP keeps moving north now as we await an EV charger update. Well done AB.
Nice to have an update on Alkamem, many of us including myself were keen to get some more information on this front. Perhaps I'm incorrect or do not understand the RNS process fully, though could not much if not all of the information in today's RNS have been released through the CEO blog function? I don't see much ground breaking news in this, I'd personally have a constant stream of blog updates with a general over view of what is happening behind the scenes. It would seem to me that may also keep other investors happy too, an RNS can be kept for substantial pieces of news e.g sales etc... Nice to read something from them nonetheless, I'm still very excited about the future Alkamem market.
Why do people keep posting about Itm, they were founded 19 years ago and have only recently started to attract attention.
Totally agree Mucksy, it’s like comparing the share price of Tesla to Aston Martin, just because they both in the same industry.
Haggis - Sounds awesome. When can I buy it?
That was nearly 8 months ago. Today’s RNS sounds far less positive, especially in terms of efficiency and therefore cost effectiveness.

A comforting RNS today, I thought. It was pretty clear early on that the membrane needed a lot more testing / development (AB said so at the Dunsfold EV charger demo) throughout 2020 before it would be truly commercial. It sounds like this is going well, and I particularly like the comment that it looks to be price competitive. I was also taken by the number of references to academia starting to look at it - who are these people? And since the membrane was (quote) "sold" to these parties, does that mean we have our first proper revenue?! So, good progress, just frustrating that we continue to wait for the EV charger contracts.
Why do people keep posting about Itm .They were founded 19 years ago and have only recently started to attract attention.
I worry that no one will take the plunge and buy until a 160kw unit exists and has been proved to work. We should have had one this month and while I accept why we don’t I’m not sure the decision to build only when bought will be acceptable to many potential purchasers.
On the plus side they should now be full steam ahead getting this made for the trial and this will also prove the EV side too.
Perhaps after the shortfall on Kore when we got 204kw rather than 240 has made people a little cautious.
Back in the land of glass half full people, ITM is 24% up and so has more than reversed yesterday's fall, adding well over twice AFC's entire MCap. Perhaps if everyone backed AFC, especially when they provide an update that shows that there has been significant progress since the last update on AlkaMem, then we might see a similar recovery to the SP here...or at least help us to feel a bit cheerier whilst the country continues to be gripped by madness
DW, the seller won't be done until a high volume day drives the price up and through the sell price. We know that this was 28p ish. They won't even be looking to sell at this level.
Without something tangible such as a commercial contract or CE marking the price will probably stay in this range. We all have everything crossed that the 500 interested parties will materialise into 1 sale or that the CE approval which was ongoing over 6 weeks ago will arrive this week. Either one will demonstrate that all the previous RNS released in respect of both was not just BS.
As you very politely told me, AFC are funded until September next year so no need for a fund raise.
Fingers need to be pulled out and someone needs to take the plunge. Not a trial a full on sale of a system.
I thought you would enjoy the trapped pigeons in toilet link, Taskmaster.
Apologies but I posted the wrong second link, in my haste, but the story that you refer to came out before the big ITM drop yesterday, hence my point about the rebound today being one without news! https://www.darlingtonandstocktontimes.co.uk/news/18530272.excitement-hydrogen-gas-trial-set-take-place-teesside/
fci... he he.. very good.
NGN gets green light for dummy hydrogen network trial....
Northern Gas Networks' plans to trial a dummy hydrogen network on a street of demolished houses in the South Bank area of Middlesbrough have been approved. The gas pipes to the houses are still intact but are disconnected from the rest of the network. Programme director Tim Harwood talks Utility Week through the plans.
Thanks, BB. It is not easy to see the wood for the trees these days!
Taskmaster, do you mean this news?

Or do you mean the news that was released before ITM had a massive drop yesterday? I am struggling to see the link iether way!

This is what ITM do also? Cap £1.2bn for perspective.

Oops wrong bb my apols.
Shows how much work is required to get to a true company making phase in this field.
Sng is at the door to major success now. Well worth having in the PF.
fci...ngn news is pretty positive for itm today I would have thought.
I was always working on the basis that AlkaMem will take at least a year or 2 to bring in any real sales and, within this framework, I think that the update today was very positive. In my opinion, this was the final update to now allow the broker to provide an updated fair value but we will see soon enough.
On a wider note, it is pretty clear that there is a lot of negativity at the moment on here. My sense is that if RA and others hadn't been offloading then the SP would not have fallen in recent weeks and would still be 30p+, with people then reading today's RNS with a glass half full mentality. However, the recent drop back has resulted in a lot of glass half empty responses and my feeling is that the SP is been walked down in line with this negativity and in the knowledge that there are big sellers out there still. Once the signal goes out to change the direction then I suspect that the SP will get walked back up again, with this happening quite quickly if the buying pressure returns.
You only need to look at ITM, that has not even had a positive update today, to see what can happen when there is positive sentiment, both in terms of the rebound today and in terms of its eye-watering MCap based on potential.
I think it's great news despite the doom mongers comments. It looks like AFC have employed some experienced PEM sales staff to get us some orders...
"The Company has consolidated its membrane team with new recruits from a mixture of PEM fuel cell / engineering backgrounds and are building an expert team across the anion exchange membrane technology field, now reporting directly to the Company's Chief Operating Officer."
Great news. Just look at ITM MCap, AFC have a membrane that can replace Nafion in electrolysis (what ITM do), which is a billion dollar market separate from AFC's Fuel Cell markets. See 'opportunities' on the link below.
