Bmac re your street lights, we've told you and log lorry about ammonia. And as you as 10kw is nothing, who is supplying 10kw? AFC isn't claiming 10kw. Oh and lights are on generally when lots of other stuff is off, not at peak time. Try harder, these are pathetic 'thoughts' you are raising.

loglorry…...grid Maxed out. 10Kw is almost nothing. You do know that 40 sodium (orange) street lights is 10Kw? Replacing these with LEDs frees up enough grid power equal to one complex AFC Cell, associated cracker and associated network of Ammonia distribution. Where required the grid can be upgraded at a fraction of the cost of this hair brain scheme. Oh and grid power can be renewable or non carbon like nuclear. Ammonia has a higher carbon footprint than gassolilne for 85% of current production. @haggis you are a nutter.
You could add there are no problems on the electricity grid in the U.K. Not true at a local level.

We can show you loads of things are aren't true. Top of my head:
Grid has capacity - nope sorry it doesn't and not just in isolated places
Nitrogen and oxygen make nitrogen dioxide when in each others presence - nope sorry
Hydrogen is lethal because it'll be in an enclosed space - no more than any other pure gas, and no one would be in the enclosed space, and it's less bad than petrol as it is lighter and doesn't pool
Ammonia gives off CO2 when cracked - nope, it doesn't.
Ceres has less shares in issue, a) so what, b) only after what looked like a 10:1 consolidation, so prior to that it had 5x as many
Fukushima was an example of how H2 is dangerous - not really, I think that nuclear was a bit further down the root cause chain headed up by backup generators
H2 and Ammonia would be dangerous to the consumers - only if they broke into the cabinet away from charging points.
AFC need to follow regs for H2 - not a lie, but making it look like they wouldn't be doing so, when they would be.
People are claiming MW of sales, soon - Never heard you actually tell us who is doing this, I can't find it.
There will be planning issues - so that'll be similar for any installation anywhere.

as I posted earlier 85% of ammonia comes from non green sources now, because there is no market for green yet, and no penalty for non green, also the green processes are newer and therefore can't be a large proportion of the market. Can you read it for him, perhaps between you you can understand the basic principles. Watch the nitrogen content though.

You can't. Anybody can find a few Google stories about how the EV market is growing. How about doing some real research. Why is anyone going to pay 5x or more to charge their car and wait hours when they can just use a cheaper charger connected to the grid? AFC has been trying to develop their fuel cell for 12 years. This daft idea is just the next one in a long line of daft ideas. Strange isn't it that all this happens just before they run out of money once again.
can you tell log lorry, that he may not be able to get enough if a feed to supply his vans with the power he needs from the grid, so he'll be priced out of the market when the taxation of emissions starts to bite. At which point what choice will he have.

You can forget the green credentials btw. 85% of Ammonia comes from a process which emits more C02 than gasoline by reforming natural gas. Please do some proper research. Everyone knows EVs are set to be a growth market. That doesn't mean AFC's half baked idea of using their fuel cells combined with huge battery banks and massive stocks of Ammonia will have any buyers. It simple makes no sense whatsoever.

would a fleet owner pay at least 30p/KWh plus all the associated capital and operational expenditure for a AFC fuel cell plus all the battery backup and Ammonia cracker plus the extra cost of delivering large quantities of Ammonia rather than just use the grid at around 10p/KWh. It is all completely nonsensical and it's about another capital raise as AFC has once again run out of cash because its sold absolutely zip. At around 56% efficiency their fuel cell requires 2.5Kg/hour of Ammonia to produce just 4KW. A 100KWh EV will take 25 hours to charge just ONE CAR at that rate. Ridiculous costs aside these fleet cars will need huge volumes of Ammonia in storage to charge them and you can imagine the local authority planning constraints in storing that and that's before you get into the high temperature, high pressure crackers required. I'm afraid none of it makes sense - its just to raise more cash.
Right, so another mistruth called out.
As I said earlier the use of the ev charger produces no pollution at the point where it is used.
If grey hydrogen of ammonia is used there is pollution at a distant point, and AFC are not denying this.
Alternatively If green hydrogen or ammonia is used pollution with CO2 is much less. It still has to be transported to the site.
As for cost, yes it is more expensive to use green ammonia. As it’s use expands so costs should come down. If Governments continue to clamp down on greenhouse gas creation there will be more pressure to increase production of green ammonia. We are already seeing this sort of thing with targets to remove petrol and diesel vehicles from our roads over time.

Whilst there is tech to make either diesel or ammonia without CO2, burning diesel will always liberate CO2, consuming ammonia doesn't. The green ammonia tech is also slightly more mature than the CO2 to fuel tech.
I’m not going to draw any conclusions from these but interesting none the less:
I see he's taken his dutch credibility pills after having it destroyed earlier, and still on with the absolute claims. There is currently no market for green ammonia, so it's not a surprise that 85% is not green, also the tech to make green has only recently been developed, so again not a surprise. Given a market the suppliers will grow and the price will drop, especially given that energy storage is crucial. Can't find the logs post, but given that it's about historic production and not the future it's not relevant to a claim that I don't believe has been made.
