We all have our reasons for buying and selling, in any case I added a few today below 4.15 .
There were circa 840 million placing shares so that could be quite some wait.
However, it is pretty clear there is a seller at present.
It will also gap up when the placing shares have cleared.
There will be a few that say they didn't buy and they are now upset
@bluebay, under normal circumstances a laudable policy, but things aren't normal here. i think thing are exceptional here, and therefore deserve e xceptional strategy . let's see what peterkin has to say to-morrow. also i'm curious to know what those other investments are? all the very best to you sincerely.
Fully agree Saint. In respect of the top slicing I think it's taking place all the time on the way upwards with new investors coming in at higher levels which is perfectly fine, but can't wait to see the scramble when we deliver on Buffalo and other deals.
Its just gambling whichever you look at it Blubay, imo. Just deciding when to leave the table doesn't magically change what went previously.
In order for me to invest long term I need some protection of my capital, and liquidity for other investments, so I would certainly slice back my original stake on the way up but leave the rest invested for longer term returns. If you’re not protecting/hedging your capital it’s just gambling.
Fully expect that any top ups in this price range will be rewarded with an increased valuation in 7/8 weeks time reflecting the de-risking of Buffalo-10.
The key risks to our valuation are geological, funding and service agreements each with a 5% risk of not going our way. The commodity price risk is very much going our way for present valuation purposes.
That's my two posts for the day out of the way, have a good day all..
Jezzac, I agree with every word you’ve said in response to me ??
@HMS "People who top slice , or de risk or whatever you call it do so on the basis that they can buy back at a lower price"
Not necessarily as lots of traders like myself will run 2, 3 or more accounts. ( i have 4). I run a main account where im looking for longer term value and will not touch til the fat lady sings or a fundamental change in the company(ies) i am invested in. I also have smaller accounts where i look to make relatively quicker profits maybe around the 3 month mark. That maybe 1 company or a few more depending on what the market throws up. As ive found over the years not one size fits all and it very much up to the individual investor/trader how he plays the game.
The retail trader stat is 90/90/90.. 90% of all new traders lose 90% of their account within 90 days of opening.. scary eh :-)

Me too! Bring on December!
I am yet to top slice. I personally think it's a little early for myself, waiting for next month before I take any action, if at all.
People who top slice , or de risk or whatever you call it do so on the basis that they can buy back at a lower price. Sounds good on the face of it. Effectively they are at least in part being traders.
But trust me, the vast majority of retail traders ultimately lose out - it’s a proven researched fact. That’s not to say that everyone fails.
So many times I’ve done that and many a time successful, but more often than not I’ve had to buy back at a much higher level.
Here at ADV it really is a one off in terms of the medium and long term gains. Too many preoccupied with what’s gonna happen today or this week but instead need to be thinking what will happen in six months or in a year or two
Good luck all
@amin There are people selling at 4.5p, top slicing, derisking or whatever you wanna call it. Everybody will have a different appetite for risk, short term medium term long term traders/investors and thats what makes the market.
The old addage “If it looks too good to be true”, and all that. But I’d add Unless it’s Buy ADV sub 5p !
I’ve been around in this game twenty years. But, refreshingly, not just me but look at all the others input in here. I know here sometimes way too much technical analysis but the fundamentals are equally there.
I’m a long term but a piece of advice I would give is this if you’re thinking of selling - “At tge sp in question, would you consider BUY if you were not already holding? “. If so then why on earth sell?
@Lowboy45
I have holdings in both ADV and CHAR :-) May both continue to rise.
doubt it, only a fool would sell adv now, I just don't think there are that many fools knocking around. More like a mm shakeout to grab some stock
Maybe some profits going to CHAR??
A bit of profit taking which is understandable but the reality is that low 4s is probably a top up area, spud in November and results in December, we are talking weeks. 95% geological CoS and 85% commercial CoS, basically the best out there, a potential wall of cash could flow into ADV's coffers late 2023, likely additional production asset in a few months and other Buffalo look alike asset too. We are not talking wells producing 50-100 bopd.
