Hi Claret. 2p or 3p? Looks like VanVan has the 2p in the bag provided we end over 2p today and tomorrow.
I would still be pessimistic about 3p this year without significant news other than Tavsan. Tavsan reaching production this year is already well flagged and many people have been buying all the way down from 4p meaning there is a lot of potential sellers in the wings (including your good self??).
I guess more confidence in the Zimbabwe adventure, together with a significant equity share there without it costing the earth, could provide a springboard. At least Ozaltin haven't got their greedy fingers in that pie (yet).
Am I allowed to change my 3p date now, or am I disqualifed ?
Good RNS. You know what I am about to say.
Shame we haven't got 50% of this news, not the 23.5% after giving away 26.5% so stupidly cheaply.
Tatra, Now there was a car. And a big one! I'm sure you know what I mean when I say that you cant get a Haynes manual of bits for that from Halfords!
You could just have dthe Skoda, they were surprisingly successful rally cars so tuning bits would probably have been available.
The Morris was a deliberate choice. I am interested in history and wanted a family car of the 30s which lower middle class families would have aspired to, rather than a sportscar or something like a Rover P2 which would have been the choice of accountants or doctors.
Little bit nearer my target, Shortarm. Thanks for your support.
Interesting collection you have John, but maybe a Riley or MG might have motivated you to fix it up instead of that Morris. Once, in UK, I had a '74 Skoda 100 about the same time as those old Lada & Skoda jokes were doing the rounds. Couldn't resist fitting wider wheels and popping a Lancia 2 liter motor in the back. Now that really surprised the neighbors when I let loose from the traffic lights. Unfortunately it wasn't worth the cost and hassle of shipping and registering it in the States. I went after a very tidy Tatra 603 10 years ago (Canada import) but $42k was beyond my wallet).
Well that's day 1 above 2p!

Looks like I might just win it honey, playing by your rules to! Woof Woof Fnar Fnar!

Well could be that splendid chap Van Van. But then again, having looked up my rules, it is 3p at the end of 3 consecutive business days. So cant declare the result just yet!
And there you have it. 2p reached. Who won ?
Hi LoB,
I was in London this weekend for family occasion so didn't see the game till I got home on MOTD 2. Couldn't believe it when we were 2-0 up, but obviously didn't last, and it had to be Ings of course.
Back to SP, not been a bad couple of weeks, but still a long way from where we were, and to add to the misery John has asked for me to be disqualified from the 3p guessing game on other site due to my guess being 2025 and there was me thinking he was one of us as an honorary Claret.
Back on the 2p date....looks like my guess at June is hopelessly wrong> VanVan seems to be doing best with a guess at 2p by end March.
Are things looking up, here? Jeez I hope so.
Anyhow, I'm in a more upbeat mood after the London Stadium performance yesterday. Never been stood - no-one was sitting - with fellow Clarets as I was, quite so disbelieving, of a wonder goal to start with and a 2-0 lead by half time. Normal service resumed in the second half, though.....
I agree with you about EVs DJ. if I could keep a little car just for local runs I might consider an EV, but not for distances. I am retired and I've done stress, I don't want it every time I set out to do a longer than normal drive, even if 9 times out of 10 that stress would be unwarrantied. Also I think a 10 year old EV is probably about as valuable as a nokia phone, technology moves too fast and I cant see them ever being classics. Always makes me laugh when I see a Tesla on the motorway. That nice Mr Musk sells his cars on being able to outdrag a Ferrari, but in truth I've never seen one being quickly. instead they tend to be driven by worried looking people with beads of perspiration on their brows. My own cars are a 1999 Lotus Elise, a 2005 Porsche Cayman and a 1938 Morris 12/4. In fairness the last one has been in bits for most of the 40 years I've owned it. Maybe I should get it converted to electric, that could surprise a few BMWs at the traffic lights by Sainsburys.
Got all excited then that 2p had indeed been reached, but the trade seems to be 42 shares for the princely sum of 84p. Very odd.
Yup he is a bit of a floppy whopper!
Looking forward to you selling at 2.5p!
That means you will not be selling at 3,4 and 5p - Thanks :-D

As usual Joe WTF are you on about Dear Chap?

Sorry John but I hadn't noticed we were playing a 2p game. Well my view is that I came back in following a general exuberance in the chats which I reckoned could also be covered by any dead cat bounce. I have some other good-looking possibilities elsewhere right now and an upward move to 2.5p would see me out again.
EVs at the present time IMHO is a non starter. Sorry, StrangerS but your MG is just another chinky (which ain't imported over here). I have thoroughly enjoyed driving the real MGs - TC, TD, TF ,MGA MkII, but not so much the BMC B type and later versions. Bigger EVs aren't selling too well over here and folk are moving away from SUVs & crossovers back to the heavily discounted traditional pick-up trucks (especially younger females). My wife and I are in a quandary. My Mustang is now 10 years old but only 70k miles. The new EV ain't considered a real poney. anymore - so mine must appreciate The missus likes the comfort and power of her 3 liter+ V6/290 bhp sedan. The model and handling power hasn't altered but most manufacturers have whacked up the price of these type of cars where a used one of say 30,000 miles is bringing twice the cost, secondhand, of what it cost new around 5 years ago. Many similar vehicles are happily giving their owners excellent service at mileages over 200,000.
People are restoring their old cars - even gas-guzzlers 0f the 80s and 90s 'cos we are just not sure that the EV will truly happen - particularly as Toyota and others are favoring hydrogen. Certainly many Governments" current plans of a doomsday for ICE vehicles are going to miss their target. Laugh at me by all means but I reckon steam is a huge power source and a mini reactor in yer jalopy might just make that possible! Regards DJ
Ok just out of sheer boredom I will play and go for thruppence!

Seems a shame that not many participated in my 2p game. With Tavsan approaching and a frisky PoG I think it could possibly be relevant soon, unlike ADVFNs 3p sweep!
Sorry to see Burnley's woes are continuing Claret and LoB.
Your thesis is interesting.
We have a world pre pandemic and post pandemic and pre Ukraine.

The following is the list of registered market makers for Ariana shares
Joh. Berenberg, Gossler & Co. KG

Singer Capital Markets Securities Limited
Stifel Nicolaus Europe Limited
W H Ireland Limited
Winterflood Securities Ltd

I have commented on the fact that there has been no TR1 forms for Ariana which suggests that the sellers of the apparent large tranches of shares are probably, not in themselves, large share holders. For every sale there must be a buyer and if a ‘person’ is building up a holding then that person must submit a TR1 form when the holdings move past the holding limits so someone building up a holding in a company must report as below.
A person must notify the issuer of the percentage of its voting rights he holds as shareholder or holds or is deemed to hold through his direct or indirect holding of financial instruments falling within DTR 5.3.1R (1) (or a combination of such holdings) if the percentage of those voting rights:
(1) reaches, exceeds or falls below 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%, 7%, 8%, 9%, 10% and each 1% threshold thereafter up to 100% (or in the case of a non-UK issuer on the basis of thresholds at 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 50% and 75%) as a result of an acquisition or disposal of shares or financial instruments falling within DTR 5.3.1 R;
The only exception to this is for a market maker who can hold up to 10% of issued share capital before the holding has to be reported.
A lot of the large trades are reported under the deferred reporting rules which allow for transactions to be packaged with a delay in the publication if one or more of its components are transactions in financial instruments that are large in scale compared with the normal market size.
What if a market maker is manipulating the market and purchasing the shares, it wouldn’t have to report the holding if it is under 10%. The market maker could make a killing if they believe that the share price is likely to increase substantially over the price paid.
Hi Claret and Blue
I was brought up in Blackburn and for a long time was a Rovers fan. Unfortunately (or is it fortunately) I now live too far away to go and see them. I feel for the Claret and Blues this year but, if you go down, you may get straight back up, not so for the Rovers mid table Championship is the best we could hope for, it might be the first division for us.
Back to Ariana if the share price stays as it is then in 2025 we could easily be in the absurd situation of having a P/E of less than two, and if the Board declares a dividend of having a dividend yield of perhaps 18% (assuming 30% of profit returned as dividend).
On the other hand KS might just spend it all in some far flung part of the globe and we will have SFA.
