Irish,
Thank you for the reasoned response and for not slamming me down just because I am very new to this, may have views that are 'middle of the road' with regards the share.
Also, my lack of understanding of terms such as Trolls etc... I thought it was just a generic term people were using to describe those with differing views.
Re TIPTOP, his posts I have found most informative and very persuasive. Hence when I do see him seem to disappear for a while it does make me have doubts, however I have read a lot of your posts and find you very balanced. Pretty much everything in these boards is on trust as anyone could be behind a name, but what you have said re TIPTOP rings true to me.
Thank you
Quickstudy, thanks for your post.
Negative posters are called trolls.
Positive posters are called rampers.
That’s the way it is.
Trolls generally are not invested.
Rampers generally are.
That’s the way it is.
Over the last week I have been in comms with our TipTop, he is still very much alive and with us. I would never divulge any thing from private discussions on these boards but I believe he will return to posting in the next few days.
Pray tell what is amateurish, ES? what seems amateurish to me is people who slam down anyone with a differing opinion to their own. Read all of my 27 posts - you will see that they are consistent.
This is a learning curve for me and a bit of fun, albeit I reduced my holding as only a fool would throw away money. My SIPP has 6 zeroes in it (and i'm not including decimal places!) and is not a single but small multiple of of that. All by luck, not judgement, being in the right jobs at the right time. I won't touch it at all as I am pretty clueless and lack the time. I will and do buy the odd share here and there for fun. But I can't afford to throw money away hence my caution in dealing and especially in AAOG.
Where is TIPTOP by the way?
Wordy and amateurish from QS - Sounds like Benny in a dress - filtered.
Nothing to see here till a side-track is completed. Everything else looks to be pretty much noise and own book playing either way.

Irish,
I understand what you are saying but I'm with Bennyson. It is good to get the views of all sides. Why is it that people who are saying negative things are being called Trolls? Those with a negative view on the share could just as easily say that people with an opposite view to them, be that positive to the share, are Trolls.
Just because someone holds a different opinion does not always make them wrong.
I have pulled way back on my holding in AAOG; taken it out of my SIPP completely even though that holding was miniscule compared to the rest of my portfolio. I have held a few shares and must confess to having bought some the other day at 4p; not strictly because I have any huge faith, but more to reduce my average cost per share!
I have very few posts on this site, because I am fairly new to this... my SIPP is entirely managed by Investec as I do not have the time and certainly not the expertise, to handle it myself. I do know DS through family and it was this that caused me to invest and to stay invested, albeit with reduced holding.
You say that there are half a dozen well researched posters... I agree, on the face of it, there are. But who is able to vouch for them? They may be well researched in Oil and Gas, maybe even in the Congo region, but how well informed are they specifically to AAOG?
What I am getting at, is that it is healthy to have a range of views... having only recently (relatively) started buying shares outside of a SIPP and by myself, I find it is good to have these differing views as it reins me in and makes me think harder about purchases of this, or any other share.
I only dip in and out of this forum to really see the price, read a couple of comments and I rarely comment myself. I am no expert on O&G, AAOG or in share dealing for that matter.
What I do find disconcerting, slightly, is that as far as I can see, having looked back a few days, one of the biggest advocates of AAOG and one of the posters who is probably, on the face of it, considered to be most knowledgeable, has gone. I can't see any posts (only looked back a couple of days) from TIPTOP, who previously was quite a regular contributor.
As I say, I've only looked back a few pages and only dip in and out of this BB occasionally, so I may have missed something regarding TIPTOP which either explains the silence (or maybe I've just overlooked some posts).
"empty vessels make the most noise ".
If some of those so called empty vessels hadn't brought this into the open re ATOG when do you think AAOG would have given clarity ? (4 days later). That's almost £600k of AAOG shareholders money that they could damn well use right now !!!
Also no prior mention of legal action re SMP. On both those points absolutely nothing in the subsequent events section of the accounts which is and was appalling. £500k held back from SMP - that's over £1m of ballsed up funds that they could certainly now use to speed up drilling. Let's hope they don't have to pay that £500k right away to SMP or that will tear a hole in their finances.
As for ostriches - that' describes some of you fittingly that you can't see the wood for the trees. Everyone keeps talking about production - well unless they issue some news on the size and areal extent of the reservoir you're not going to get a notion of how much oil can realistically be produced over any length of time. If it doesn't come close to the original CPR reserves/resources estimate, it may be in danger of being not far off fair value post drill when the funds are used up (even if they get all those funds in). I also wonder if the lack of detail in the licence re the PSC is contingent on any Djeno flow rates/size of resource and they won't know that until the sidetrack. Therefore how long will it take them to have enough funds together and drill and will they be able to source a decent contractor after the SMP debacle.
Tilburn - in answer to your question - NO I am not invested nor short and I post out of interest and for that matter I didn't see you find or post anything of substance on the ATOG matter as I did prior to the company having to come out and clarify it 4 days later or question any of the matters in the accounts re subsequent events.
As I get older my memories of past years do make me smile. The board last night reminded me of my early school days and in particular my English teacher telling us that “empty vessels make the most noise “.
During play time there was always a gang that would stop the others using the play equipment, not that they wanted it but for some reason they just didn’t want anyone else to use it.
This board has half a dozen of very well researched posters who can dig deep ,keep us up to date and are happy to discuss in a rational way. As shares go more and more into LTH’s hands it gives me some solis.
I never filter anyone on here as the flow on the board seems to get lost, so I shall just plod along and wait until we are on the up and up. I still believe in the fundamentals of the company and am happy to sit on my holdings.
Have a good day.
