1700s gone. New trading range in the 16s now.
Sentiment is gone. All about sentiment and shorting at the mo.
If the us market has a correction from highs this will be dragged lower with it.
2020 lows possible ? Then a Big recovery when the next government is elected and interest rates go down.
Ive looked at the last results, and a few of the last rns over the past 12 months, it looks like there will still be substantial profits to be made, ill go for a 55p Dividend ?
I'm expecting the divi to be cut, as profits will be lower. as Gary has correctly stated, dividends are taken from 40% profit, lower profit means lower dividends.....this will be the same for all mining companies right now, not just AAL
Roxi, the last time I looked at the balance sheet net debt was up but was well covered by cash profits (AAL have I think a policy of paying out 40% of profits in dividends). I'm thinking of investing here soon as this has to be a very good take over target for the bigger chaps in this industry.
To answer your question mate next weeks results may mean guidance & the dividend yield will come under pressure.
At todays price the divi is 9.5% so there's room there, albeit none of us want to receive any less.
If I was a betting man I would say the divi will be held, just my opinion but WDIK.
?with the results out next week, does anyone think the 60p dividend will remain intact?
Wordsmith final few years to production ? Heard that before a few years ago. Finnish battery tie up sounds good though.
A few more this morning, good price, imo sit back and let the dividends and Sp work for me, lets see where it goes over the next 12 months,
Gary59, I wasn’t going to reply as I’m massively more researched in car technology, but since nobody else has commented, I thought that I would post what tempted me to diversify albeit currently only a little into Anglo.

Dear posters, although I’ve been investing for some years I’ve never brought into this sector so am hoping to learn from those more experienced, be gentle please!!
I have built up a decent holding in excess of 200K through a bit of trading & rising SP’s elsewhere & am currently fully in cash sitting in ISA's. I'm now at a stage of my life where I will be holding companies long term & will be investing for dividend income. I am looking at buying one or all of GLEN, AAL or RIO & am posting here as part of my research. Many thanks for any advice & who to buy, not to buy etc ... (also posted on GLEN & RIO)
It's being punished for sure, but ultimately fundamentals will prevail. When? No one knows. It's very irrational.
Going to £15 ish quicker then I thought.
It my hit £11-£12 in the coming months.
Uk market is a shorters haven. Easy money.
Amazing? Really? I'd rather it goes back to 3,800p...
After listening to Berkshire some time ago, they did state and I tend to agree that quartering
reports should be gotten rid of, and just have the 2 reporting periods for the financial year.
With a slow moving business like Anglo, you can see the logic in the statement, and it would
obviously be better for business, we’re they not set up to report quarterly.
A common sense approach, that will be ignored by the bean counters doing the reports.
A decent update,
Wold be ammazing if it falls to that level i will be adding loads of these,
Im hoping it falls further, i want to biuild up a few more of these, lets see ?, think the Dividend is well covered here
Best to short this.
Only way to make money from this now. Next stop £15ish for a bit.
Added a few today for the Divi , hope ive timed it right
Just gets better,

Interesting to read that Anglo American have fully booked a Scarborough hotel for the rest of the year. Surely this means that work at Woodsmith will power ahead. I certainly hope so.
