Who knows Brom. So many combinations & variables right now as we head up to the BIGGEST DRILL on the Planet this year.
Aaaaaaaaaand, we are a part of it.
Bring it on

I agree, Brom.
Islayman in my opinion there will no gravel roads before the lateral in Q1 next year and that will be the time when PMO will probably also decide their future direction of travel. But WDNKWWDNK.
Of course to get that far Charlie-1V has to be a success.
:-)
I have read with interest the posts about a gravel road and possible costs. I don't think 88e will get that far - don't think we have the cash for it. I think - indeed, hope - that if we get positive results from Charlie 1 - 88e, Bex, Accumulate Energy will sell that part. If the shale also looks positive, that will make it more attractive to potential buyers. We could then retain Yukon (the quarterly report looked interesting), the Western blocks and sell them later if they prove up. I continue to adhere to the original stated intention of this company - prove up and sell up at the earliest possible time as don't have the resources to produce. I see opinions that we'll be lucky ever to get to 3p. If you consider our genius Paul Basinski reckoned there are 3.6 billion barrels in the shale alone, you only have to multiply even half of that at $3 a barrel to realise the 3p prediction is a bit understated. And then there's the conventional. This is of course all conjecture and the whole thing might go boobs up.
15:46 its just one of those things, we may or may not retain a working interest and if we did guess we would have to pay our share, of course if the oil discovery is as we hoped then what price per acre/bbl and would 88E & Bex take the money and run?
I wonder if the flow test was positive whether we would see PMO teaming up with another party to ensure infrastructure was fast tracked.

When I say we, I am assuming that PMO would have taken the reins if 100 bopd is bubbling from Charlie 1 at flow test. They are keen on producing by 2023/4 if I am not mistaken. Will they not be financing the gravel road?
keefy
Keefy how would we pay for that gravel road even if possible :-)
Brom 13:35
Totally agree, as your 19 page "return of service" seems to indicate.
Could we even dream that permit submissions for the aforementioned gravel road, be made within weeks of flow-testing 100 bopd?
What a game changer that might be!!
We live in hope.

11:48 yes gravel is sourced locally, usually it seems permissions granted with project.
Will be lots of permitting and based on attached will take longer than permitting for an exploration well.

UR right Brom but I believe gravel is sourced regionally & of course there is always the issue of "soggy", during the 6 week summer. Can't have the road moving around.
You certainly are a speedy reader. Didn't expect any responses until at least Friday. Hmmmmmm

MrB think the ice road truckers got turfed off The Dalton a few years ago now, in Canada generally now.
10:36 5' of gravel depth required - that's a lot of gravel and money.
Or you could simply watch Ice Road Truckers who use the highway for transportation:)

Good post my friend.
I include links to "Gravel Roads for Dummies".
My advice to anyone who cares to read: Set aside a few days as the articles are not brief.
Did we know that the Dalton Highway, is indeed a 414-mile stretch of GRAVEL & DIRT road that runs from the town of Livengood up to Prudhoe Bay and through some of Alaska's most remote wilderness. ... Often, the Trans-Alaska pipeline, which runs parallel to the road, is a driver's only companion.

I hope you find the articles interesting.
Loving the enthusiasm & optimism now, allowing ourselves to even be thinking of gravel roads.

09:43 how long do you think a gravel road with water crossings etc would take to plan and permit alone? Tundra during summer is wet and marshy with restrictions on the type of vehicles , I would suggest it will not come before the lateral well in Q1, 2021 as per 88E guidance
Some investors on here are going to be so perplexed if and when we attain Commercial success.
Let' get behind Dave, and urge Charlie 1 to become one of the biggest oil finds ever. We can then clink our glasses of Cristal, and pat each other on the back. Not long now!
Thats why they say on success.
The Q4 2020 lateral sidetrack would be a future producer. Its not exploration if Charlie-1 is good come April- we move to production stage and so a gravel road would be possible if the initial Charlie-1 vertical well is good and flows at 100bopd.
I wonder how much that would cost over 30 odd miles and would they do it in a summertime I'm so you got access all year round I know what you saying about being too early , just a thought .
Not to an exploration well, once reserves established then perhaps real long term planning can start.
Could we put a Gravel Road in would we get planning for it I know other big operators have put gravel roads in depends on the cost and and and the prize at the end
09:00 How will we get to Charlie-1 in Q4 2020?
Almost certainly tundra will be out of bounds to the type of equipment we will need until Q1, 2021.
Think this was an error made by PMO in original news release , see page 9 last 88E investor presentation.
Can anyone remember a broker forecasting a correct price on 88E? My forecast is anywhere between 0.5p and 10p!
Update from Cenkos on 88E. PDF file in the link below.
Risked 4.8p NAV valuation pre-drill (meaning 88E is currently about 250% undervalued). Interesting that the potential lateral sidetrack on success is now being looked at being done in Q4 2020.
