Have to agree that it would be a meaningful statement for the BoD to take a pay cut to conserve cash burn, and absolutely future farm-outs should be targeting a cash consideration as part of the package, I would certainly take giving away a higher %age in return for extra cash to avoid a further dilution at these prices.
Hi zip zap
Thanks for that
Always lots of folk with the comments take it with a pinch of salt
Meant to say be nice if Dave takes a drop for time being in wages and works on his bonus if we reach targets in so
We have been here before on icewine 2 and winx and here again and do worry that a future cash raise will diliute is to death but understand we have enough cash for the year to keep the lights on so rather do a farm out if poss on Yukon or hrz with a little cash thrown in be nice
But let’s see what tomoro brings
Lse showing 16.5 %. In the blue
Stay safe
In the 1970s the wealthy with unearned income were paying 98% tax (that's if they didn't join those emigrating to avoid it). I can remember paying basic rate income tax at over 30%. All relative.
think he was looking in to future
Extortionate rates of tax we pay? I'm self employed and very happy with the tax I pay xxx
Agree with your comment about ullow but I would not touch the banks and insurance companies with a barge pole. A recent report said that 35% of homeowners are struggling to pay their next mortgage payment and their essential bills.
Everyone was already struggling due to the extortionate levels of tax we pay.
08:10 Blingybird - Excellent post! I started writing something similar last night but stopped after watching all the vitriol on here. Thank you for taking the time.
Ok the drill didn’t work but at least it was Premiers money not ours. 88e was always a gamble. I will bottom draw. For me this was less than 1% of portfolio. Would not bother averaging down as this increases exposure especially at this time where there are potential multi baggers everywhere. Lloyd’s, Barclays, Tullow oil, Standard Life, Aviva , Legal, and General all companies where the sp has fallen sharply. All will have a higher sp in 18 months time. GLA
08.10 - Blingybird: well done. Impressive post filled with constructive points even if some here might claim 'glass half full'. Chimes with me so we shall see. All best to you in this and, yes, we look forward to your further questions at The Globe. Oh, and just one more thing..... :-)) VGLA
09:27. You're using ramping (rather than objective) logic there. Have you not noticed investments from blue chip down to AIM can and do go down to zero. In that case selling at any price would have been a better option.
On averaging down (fine if you appreciate what you are actually doing) I remember someone posting on Monday that they had REDUCED their exposure by averaging down.
Yes, thats correct. I meant for the moment it makes no difference if its paper loss or physical loss.
Of course a "paper loss"is better, as if the SP increases you could sell for a higher return (or a smaller loss)
Hey Investopian,
this:
"You only lose money if you sell at a lower SP. Otherwise it's only a paper loss remember."
is an all time fairytale!
The only truth is the figure you see by looking at your depot value. Independently if you sell or hold.
What does it mean "paper loss". Is this better than physical loss? No, certainly not.
You only lose money if you sell at a lower SP. Otherwise it's only a paper loss remember.
I know it's "My self who pressed the buy button" but I did stupidly buy in to the enthusiasm of others on this board and have lost alot of money. I've learnt alot about shares and human behaviour over the last 4 years.
Hi mickey and all others in here
Firstly mickey youve got nothing to apologise for
We I’m sure we are all adults and so threw the dice as all this negativity wouldn’t be here if drill wasn’t positive but it wasn’t so it is what it is
But if I may just make a couple of points as I see it and convey
1. Pmo paid the whole drill £23 mill not us
2 we got core samples for hrz then free of charge where as icewine 2 for the same drill cost us £12 mill approx to go after hrz
3 we have a possible soft farm our partner interested in hrz and was never interested in other zones in Charlie well
Results to Come in June so still in the game paul was so positive about also 100% owned by 88e
4 gas found in what quantities and is it commercially viable and again with pmo walking leaves us 100% owners
5. And the final point i believe eagle ford was drilled more Ethan a hundred times before conco struck black gold on the last attempt
What have we had 4 attempts so far
On 500.000 acres
6. Yukon gold still on the table
7 we did have a bid a while ago and so someone somewhere must have saw something in 88e to
Make that bid
Possible a back door in to suck a large acreage holding
Some will call me a fool and optimist for this post and I dont really care but I will be waiting to hear from the agm tomoro
Ave takings cit in wage would also be a positive sign for us all to stay interested
Good luck anyway but the fat lady hasn’t started yet
Have just logged in and in the words of Black Adder,CLUCKING BELL.I feel quite sick.
Hey Mickey and all long term holders...some of us have been here from the very start and it's been years of patient waiting, much research, gleaning advice and hope. No one forced us, tricked us or helped us to make the decision to stay with this share. It was the people, no, the smart people who were investing in this company and who are running it and whom I personally met on a number of occasions, that made me believe that this was a good, calculated gamble. It didn't work out as we so painfully now know.
But, I'm in too deep to just walk away and honestly, call me stupidly stubborn but I, like others here, met PB and had private conversations with him and with DW and I still believe they were genuine people. With PB, we all felt that he really was excited and knew what he was talking about and that it wasn't just wishful thinking, he KNEW that the HRZ was a real prospect. I have enjoyed dreaming and discussing this dream with others on this journey and I cannot let it go.
I'll wait until the last penny is gone...or until, at the very last throw of the dice, PB's legacy is realised.
Good luck all, even in these most strange and surreal times and stay safe.
Mickey, I still want you to have your landing strip and plane...and I still want to land there on your private jet; that is my sincere wish for you...somehow, for me, that has been the imaginary symbol of hope, that has represented the great adventure that this has been...
Weldone sir for winning fool of the year award, I don't claim to be a good investor as I made my mistakes and learnt. However whole point is that you learn but judging by your comments it does not look like you are willing to learn and that wont take you really far in investment world. Mind you , you are investing in aim and emotions should have very little to do with your investments. I know on a bad day like this ,last thing you want to hear is somebody telling you what you should have done , but sometime it pays listening to others.
Wolves2211,
I'm not bitter!
Yes I lost but not to the extent of last night. I lost 20% overall maybe less, I never calculated I move on.
Even you have mentioned derampers in some of your posts!!
I bought shares after chrimbo in lloyds, just a few days.
I read the posts, amazingly not one post chatted about lloyds, obvoius deramping or ramping lloyds would have 0.00001% effect.
88e
I believe it mattered and worked!!
We all know about corona and oil price but there were some take over of comments from a few!!
Dozens by the day!!
My last post
Shami89 - if you were half the investor you claimed to be going on how you can spot other peoples mistakes so easily, then i would not expect you to be frequenting PI bb's as you would be a sophisticated investor with better things to do than visit us poor deluded fools just to impart your BS wisdom.
Ditto Mickey..
Hope the family is well.. take care and be safe mate!
Todayistheday. Respect to you Sir, my round when we next get a chance
Days when we used to witness a 100%/200%/300% rises prior to a drilling have long gone I am afraid. One thing amazes me is that people thinking that a negative/positive voice here can influence the share price. These bbs are here to discuss different aspects of a company, over the years I have come to conclusion that does not matter how hard you try if a person has made up his mind about a company he wont change it. It is blind faith in company/ceo that costs money and people love their live savings. Over the years I have come across many investors who had "faith" in company and kept on losing money to the point where bailing out did not make a sense and they lost it all , some of them could have got out at a profit and some of them could have got out with a minor loss. Most of aim investors have got a really risky strategy and if it is not flexible enough it can put a big dent in your portfolio.
Been here a long long time
Our money, we made a choice.. we all knew the risk!
High risk/ high reward.
Invested my money to win, also accepted if we didn’t quite make the finish line. Not great, but not quite finished yet.
Bottom draw until further updates.
Haven’t given up yet, until they say the 2 fat ladies won’t sing anymore!
Wish you all the best you great bunch, you know who you are!
